A reign for posterity, the end of the story

Many books were used to describe the life of Queen Haelyx Peverell, also known as the Incarnation of the Mother, the Holy Queen, the Lady of Death, the Beloved, the Conqueror, the Wise and many more names, as many as possible. to write

Many portraits of her are still lovingly preserved and the best known portrait of her is still on display alongside that of the ruler of House Peverell which is in the Castle of Falling Stars. Adored and loved. The Queen who caused the most admiration for her people.

She wrote the book that all future generations of Kings and Queens of Avalon would read. "The book of the good ruler" It is said that Queen Haelyx dedicated the last years of her life to writing that book of eight hundred pages in which she wrote her recommendations, advice and anecdotes with the hope that they would help guide to the future rulers of Avalon.

Many historians have investigated her life, inch by inch, day by day. But they all found very little information about the Queen before the thirteenth year of her life, the year she was crowned along with her first husband and father of Queen Iolanthe Peverell, the one who sows hope.

Many historians and loremasters went to the Seven Kingdoms to search for the files on the Queen, both in the Runestone and the Red Keep. But despite the fact that the different occupants of the fortresses gave their permission, the documents that cited the Queen when she was still a Targaryen Princess were really scarce. They were summarized in a few lines from the book of nobility, where the Queen's birth at the end of the seventh moon and her marriage were recorded, as well as her widowhood, there were also the notes of a Septa and a Master who spoke of the talent and the skill of the princess. There were eight documents in which the princess was cited and which were the record of her dowry and her belongings. But nothing else

The Queen had been invisible until she founded Avalon.

More information was found about the Queen's parents and records that spoke of the hatred between Rhea Royce and Daemon Targaryen, the King Consort of Queen Rhaenyra.

The first true mentions of Queen Haelyx occurred during the Dance with Dragons. When she got involved in saving her stepbrother, Lucerys Velaryon, from certain death when he was being hunted by Aemond Targaryen. A desperate attempt to put the crown on Aegon Targaryen's head. To complete the life quest of Queen Alicent and the Otto Hightower Hand.

A detailed description of the battle between the two was also found. The Deadly Dance, in which the last dragon of the conquest, Vhagar, lost his life from him. It was believed that Prince Aemond had also lost his life along with his dragon, but there were reports that he was located in Essos.

The Dance with Dragons that was about to occur was useless. Prince Aegon relinquished the crown and threatened to cut off the hand of whoever tried to place it on his head. He leaned down and kissed his stepsister's dress. It is said that Prince Aegon lived out the rest of his life in the Red Keep, visiting Silkstreet almost every night. Because of that, many of the kids in the slums still have very light blond hair or purple eyes to this day.

Relations between Avalon and the Seven Kingdoms were good because Queen Haelyx worked hard for it. Queen Rhaenyra was quite suspicious, but Queen Haelyx never had any intention of invading the Seven Kingdoms, no matter how many proposals Dorne, the triarchy, and other enemies made.

Avalon would not invade the Seven Kingdoms, although a couple of Targaryens in the future would try to claim Avalon because they were men of House Targaryens. They were always when a woman sat on the throne. Most of the Queens laughed at them and kicked them out of their country. Avalon had the power to conquer the world, between magic and dragons as big as those of Old Valyria.

The rulers of Avalon wondered why Valyria tried to conquer the world, the land of which was rich, beautiful and wide. They didn't need the rest of the world. But they saw it as an act of Valyrian arrogance, something they would not repeat.

------------------------------

While little is known of Queen Haelyx's first marriage, it is known that the two loved each other strongly. Married when she was eleven years old and with a daughter in common. Everyone portrayed him as a kind and good-humored man. Someone friendly with whom it was easy to form a close friendship. He died defeating two wargs whose pelts were still stored in the royal treasury and covered Queen Iolanthe's cradle.

Queen Haelyx's second marriage was to her first husband's younger brother. There are many more records of this marriage.

Oscar Peverell was the Captain of the Royal Guard and the Queen's aide before becoming the Consort. His training records and the men in charge of him are exhaustive and meticulous. He was known as a serious man at work but friendly outside of duty.

He too was described as a man deeply in love with Queen Haelyx. It was said that he looked at her as if she were the sun itself that walked the earth and hers, her heart, only hers could beat because she was there.

Although at the beginning of their marriage the same could not be said of Queen Haelyx, before her first child was born there are writings that affirm how the Queen and her Consort exchanged glances and smiles, how they held hands under the tables and in meetings and how they used to kiss each other as a greeting on every possible occasion

Six children arose from her marriage, two Princes and four Princesses. Queen Haelyx had already established that her heir would be her eldest daughter, a decision that the Consort approved, as he himself took it upon himself to educate Princess Iolanthe in the art of swords.

He is described in the texts as a loving father to all children and the niece he took as his own. He used to spend most of his free time in the kindergarten with his children.

----------------

Four of her children were given control over the four territories of her kingdom by Queen Haelyx. She also gave them the title of Duke, thus creating an order in the nobility that had not existed until then but that more Kingdoms acquired after that.

For her youngest son and the most skilled in the military arts, Queen Haelyx granted him the North, where the border was. And she named him Duke Godric Gryffindor, with his dragon, Dignum the Black, he became the symbol of the country's military might and not a single enemy came close to Avalon during her lifetime.

The shield, chosen by Godric himself, featured a golden lion's head roaring against a crimson background. The motto that he chose for his house was “Courage, Honor and Loyalty”. When he took possession of his domain, Queen Haelyx gave him a sword made of Valyrian steel with rubies on the hilt, Godric's sword, the sharpest in the world. He was a young man with blue eyes and reddish hair, he married his companion in arms and childhood friend. They had six sons and one daughter. Queen Haelyx laughed and said that it would be difficult for that girl to marry so many older brothers skilled in combat and who loved her so much. she was right

Her eldest son, Salazar, was very skilled with the Court of Avalon and leading the people on their way. An intelligent and hardworking boy who was very skilled in all kinds of magic. He loved the sea and trade, he loved making deals. He often flew his dragon Callidus over the sea, letting the beast's silver wings skim the waves on calm days.

That is why Queen Haelyx gave him the south, the land of marshes and harbors. And she named him Duke Salazar Slytherin. The motto she chose for her house was "A warning is all you'll get." The crest of his house was the silver serpent found in the marshes, an animal delicious to eat, on a green background, the same color as the grass that rises from the water on a summer day.

Queen Haelyx gave her son a necklace that could be opened, showing a small space inside her, a locket with emerald decorations, for the prince to keep his heart, his secrets or a poison. He was a young man with white hair and blue eyes who was courted by many women until he found the one, a young woman from humble origins but with such intelligence that she dazzled the world and Salazar himself. They brought into the world three strong, cunning and intelligent children

The eldest daughter was Helga. Queen Haelyx always said that Helga had the ability to unite the entire country in a banquet. She was one of those people with a good humor and pleasant laugh that made people gather around her. Her dragon was black and yellow, and she called it Festum, it was a friendly beast that she used to let the children climb on her back and glide on her wings. Queen Haelyx granted her daughter the east, where the fields of crops were. She named her Duchess Helga Hufflepuff. Her house crest was a black background with yellow lines and a badger. Why she chose a badger was something she only told her mother and that caused a laugh to come out of her throat. The motto chosen was "Loyalty makes us stronger"

Queen Haelyx handed her a glass, because Helga had always been a being who flourished at banquets and social gatherings. Despite having the largest territory of the four duchies, everyone knew that it was the most united thanks to the Duchess. She had red hair and purple eyes and was married to a wizard who was studying magic that could be applied to plants and growing crops. That wizard's name was Jaehaerys Targaryen. They had fourteen children together.

The second Princess, Dorea Peverell, married the Dornish Prince. It was said that the Prince met the Princess on a business trip and fell in love with her at first sight. So much so that she even tried to convince her to elope with him. But Princess Dorea laughed and brought her beloved to Queen Haelyx. She is she gave the Prince the hand of her daughter when she saw that the young man's feelings were true. They went to Dorne with the Princess's dragon, Risus, a beast of a faded yellow like the color of sand. It was his son who married a Targaryen princess and achieved what the Targaryens had always wanted, to unite the continent. The princess was a lady with white hair and purple eyes. She was almost as beautiful as her sister Iolanthe and with a good character.

The third Princess got the west and became Duchess Rowena Ravenclaw. She was a woman thirsty for knowledge, always reading and always looking for new books. The great libraries that are found both in the capital and in each of the territories are attributed to her. Queen Haelyx supported her daughter. But she did not know what to give him, since she had already made a gift to her other three brothers with her territory. Duchess Rowena asked for a jeweled diadem as brilliant as her wits, and Queen Haelyx had it made. A diadem of silver and sapphires that shone on the white hair of the blue-eyed Duchess.

Rowena chose for her shield a dark blue with a bronze raven. Her family motto was "Intelligence and knowledge set us free." Her dragon was Cognosce, the father of dragons. It was said that this dragon mated with Dreamfire so much that the Egg Dome was full of its young, more than seventy eggs were attributed to it. Unlike her dragon, Rowena showed no interest in sex and she married a researcher who also had no interest in sex but who loved her. In the end they only had sex twice in their lives and that produced the duchess's two daughters.

The last daughter of the marriage was Lilith Peverell, her dragon was called Fullmoon. She never married, just like her sister Rowena, she devoted her entire life to learning and became a teacher at the Magic Academy and later the fourth headmistress. She had four children, but that was because she created a ritual that allowed her to have children without having sex. That also brought into question what last name to give the children, because they were born out of wedlock but were not bastards. Queen Haelyx said that from then on any child born out of wedlock in the royal family would be called Pendragon.

Queen Haelyx then said that any bastard could become a legitimate child if they passed a test that she decided when the child or her parents brought it to Court. If they failed to pass the test they would be taught a trade and would receive their last name from the learned trade. Potter, Fisher,…

--------------------------------

Although Queen Haelyx created an enviable legacy, she always had her eldest daughter and heir by her side, guiding her and giving her more power as she grew older and she was ready to assume it.

Princess Iolanthe was very much like her mother in many ways. Both in her looks and in her personality. And Queen Haelyx encouraged her

-Iolanthe is like a bird, she needs to fly high in the sky, not be locked in the cage to be compared to me and have her feathers cut. I am honored to be the wind that propels her wings to new heights. -Those were the words of Queen Haelyx when the ministers questioned her for giving her heiress too much power. – In addition, my cousin had problems in taking power over her because my very beloved uncle pampered her and did not make her assume any of the responsibilities that she would have in the future. I don't doubt that Rhaenyra is a great Queen, but she would have been much greater if she had taken responsibility for her before her coronation.

Queen Haelyx was known to have a soft spot for children, all of her children were incredibly loved, but the eldest daughter of hers, she was the apple of her eye. She is the apple of the eyes of the entire Kingdom, the most beloved treasure. Consort Oscar also adored her Princess and taught her the art of the sword along with her own children.

Princess Iolanthe married Maelor Targaryen, later Peverell, right out of the magic academy. They had been dating since they were very young and the Princess and the Prince felt great love for each other. Queen Haelyx said that by bringing the name Peverell to life she had created a curse that would cause all of her children and descendants to marry for true love.

No one ever knew if that was a joke or meant it, but the truth is that to date, more than a thousand years after the founding of Avalon, all members of the Peverell family have married for true love.

However, their marriage did not bear fruit. That was what made them ask Princess Lilith to create a magic that would allow them to be parents. They had only one child, a miracle in their eyes when they were almost forty, a boy with blonde hair so light it almost looked white, but darker than his grandmother's and purple eyes. James Peverell.

They never told anyone why they chose that name.

The young Prince grew up spoiled, until Queen Haelyx ceded the throne to Queen Iolanthe. She said that she wanted to enjoy her old age with her husband and take care of her grandchildren. But many said it was to mend Prince James' ways before he became too pampered.

The Queen Mother Haelyx never said a single word against her eldest daughter's nurturing of hers her grandson James of hers. She said that she could understand her daughter and her desire to give the world to the child whose arrival she had waited for more than twenty years. Many assured that it was thanks to this that Prince James was able to see the errors in his ways and follow a proper path of life.

The Queen Mother and her consort enjoyed the rule of Queen Iolanthe. Mother and daughter were often seen strolling through the gardens when there were difficult situations or good weather. The Queen Mother used to go to the orphanages once a week when her legs left her to read stories to the orphans and check their living conditions. A custom that Prince James maintained after the Queen Mother's legs failed and for the rest of her life.

Queen Iolanthe opened the country that her mother had closed to make it strong in her self-defense, she invited children from other Kingdoms who had magic to learn it at the Royal Academy of Avalon, a name she finally gave her after a drunken binge at twenty-three.

Everyone who proved to have magic entered the Royal Academy after signing an oath in which they promised to never use their magic against Avalon and only to help improve their respective Kingdoms. She planted seeds that became good relations between Avalon and the rest of the world. So much so that Avalon was used as neutral ground for peace negotiations in several wars.

Many people thought that Queen Iolanthe would have been left in the shadow of her mother, but it was the opposite. Queen Haelyx traced a path and lit it for her daughter to take her steps safely before beginning to walk on her own.

--------------------------------

Queen Haelyx Peverell breathed her last from her when she was eighty-two years old. Less than an hour after her husband died. Many said that the heart of the good and kind Queen Mother could not bear to lose another husband.

She wanted to return to earth when she died. It was something she had talked about a lot to her grandchildren. Her grandson James's dragon burned her, but her ashes were placed in an urn that was planted in a field along with the seed of a tree.

The Forest of the Dead, where royalty is buried

Contrary to its name, it is a truly bright and beautiful place where death is not mourned but rather the lives of the deceased are celebrated. Many times, in times of need, trees in the forest have been felled for the wood to help the village during the harsh winters. But Queen Haelyx's tree still stands tall and strong and proud in the heart of the forest.

No one ever knew what kind of tree that was. Or where Queen Haelyx got the seed from. Many botanists have studied it and have not been able to find another specimen of the tree. Unique in the world, like many things that only exist in Avalon, they said.

It is a gigantic tree. With a reddish bark and green leaves with golden veins. The tree giant produces a very sweet and juicy fruit, similar in shape to apples but so deep black in color that it makes the night sky pale. All the inhabitants of Avalon have eaten it at least once a year because the fruit is abundant and they all consider it a last blessing from Queen Haelyx.

There is a great harvest festival every year, with dancing, music and laughter in the Forest of the Dead and the capital

-------------------------

-Grandma, I would like to be like you. Leave a legacy that will last centuries. – Prince James once said to his grandmother the Queen Mother.

The old woman laughed and shook her head.

- It's not that legacy that matters to me, James. The history books are written by the victors. They can put whatever they want on them. No, the legacy of which I am proud is quite another. One better. Better than the lines in the history books

-And what legacy is that, grandmother?

-You, your cousins, my children, every person in this country. I have built a place where they will be safe, where they feel safe, a place to grow and be happy. Their stomachs are full, in winter there are extra blankets and warm clothes. They can study, they can learn trades. – The old woman smiled at her grandson. – And most important of all, every time I look out the window they are happy and smile. And you, my grandchildren, also smile and are very happy and good boys. That's the best legacy you could wish for, the kind of legacy that won't make it into the history books.

-------------------------

It is said that Queen Haelyx only met her biological father one more time in her lifetime. It is not known what they talked about or what happened. It is only known that one night the Queen put on her riding clothes and flew her dragon to the Red Keep. There in a bed in the royal chambers, Daemon Targaryen was dying

The door closed behind the Queen and they talked together for a long time, more than an hour. Everyone claimed to be able to hear her voices despite not being able to make out a single word they were speaking. Then the Queen opened the door again and with the rest of the family she guarded Daemon Targaryen's bed until he died.

She left at the end of the funeral and that was the last time she set foot in the Red Keep, the home of her childhood and the prison of her youth. She never spoke of what happened while the door was closed, but Consort Oscar was later heard asking the Queen if she had gained peace from that encounter and the Queen just sighed and said yes.

She had found her peace and happiness
