Findings and Theories

"Tommy, Tommy," they hadn't had their feet on the ground 5 seconds before she was shouting for the man.
"Hey sweetheart, how'd it go, anything helpful."
"Yes. Yes. It's ancient magic." Wait what? It can't be ancient magic, only she has that power. And it's blue. Ancient magic is blue. No she must be wrong. They'd theorised this before. It was Rookwood. She's the only one with this magic.
"Sebastian," She turned to look at him, her eyes glittering like they used to, the gold speck looking more like tiny flames in her eyes. He couldn't quite tell what she was feeling. Her glowing eyes suggested excitement, ambition, but her furrowed brows showed confusion and worry.
"Isadora's memories. It's the same magic, red and blue bubbles, pink magic. Don't you remember." She was talking in a tone he hadn't heard in a long time. The tone of voice he had fallen inlove with 9 years ago when they were children. Her voice showed how much she craved a mystery.
"I remember. I remember you said the curse wasn't ancient magic. That you saw no traces on Anne." She looked between the two men frantically.
"It's got to mean something. Tommy I could fix this. It's worth looking into at least."
"Fig." They both looked at the girl with apprehension. She was excited. It was sickening.
"Look, I don't know what this person is trying but surely this is a lead. Cmon please listen to me."
"Fine we'll look into it. But it's one report. Don't be shocked if it doesn't turn out." She ran to the others idea of the room immediately. The pinboard infront of her, which had previously been rather bare -saving for a few picture of victims and crime scenes-, was suddenly coverd in her handwriting. 'Isadora Morganach', 'Ancient Magic'.
"I must go get my research from home." Before either man could protest she was gone. Theu looked at each other. Last time she'd left them alone he had beaten the man black and blue. He was in edge.
A minute passed in silence before it was broken by Thomas's curiosity.
"Whose Isadora?" He was shocked, they seemed so close, he knew about the ancient magic but not of Isadora. Why hadn't she told him? He knew she must have a reason. He didn't care.
"She was like her, could see ancient magic. Used it to take away pain."
"Take away pain! Why hasn't she used this magic?" He asked the question Sebastian had asked a million time.
"Says its too dangerous, that it's not worth the risk. Poppycock if you ask me. Its selfish of her to keep that power locked up." The man hummed, clearly trying desperately not to agree with the ex convict. Sebastian wondered why Thomas Rutherford would want her to use the magic. Did he want her to use it on him? Or perhaps he wanted to use it on her, romantic. He imagined the pair arm in arm, holding each other tenderly. He would destroy the world for her. Just as he once would have. He wondered how much he had suffered at her hands, was it anywhere close to his suffering. How much had she suffered at his. Change the subject.
"She forgot to mention, we got another lead. The Olde Knight. Its a pub apparently ran by an ex dark wizard, oh and its a brothel too. But Ms Parker saw a man enter the day before the attack. It might be worth a look."
"She just forgot to mention that?"
"She seemed preoccupied."
The silence continued until she returned. Books flew around her quickly, Sebastian nearly got hit a few times, as the girl sat in the corner and read. He wondered who had written books on ancient magic, if almost no one could see it.
"They were Mirims, Proffesor Fig left them too me on his will along with there house and some other things. He had no children. I was all he had. Its funny because he's the only family i have ever known, its like we were meant to fill the gaps in eachother. If I can do this, solve this case. Perhaps I'll be closer to understanding this magic. For him, and Mirim" Could she read his mind, or did she just want to talk about Proffesor Fig? Maybe both. He wasn't sure if he should comment. She did for him. "He mentioned you before the battle," She turned to look at him. He met her eyes. Suddenly he understood why she was so eager to believe her theory. "He told me that I shouldn't let my emotions cloud my judgement, and that sometimes the right thing doesn't feel good." She left it at that but her words hung in the air like a cloud of smoke. He didn't know what Professor Fig had meant, he knew nothing of Sebastian's crimes, but he knew how she meant it. And it stung. She had not said it out of cruelty, or to hurt him. And perhaps that hurt more. It hurt because she felt every word of it was true. That she had done the right thing. He had no response only gestured at her to hand him a book. She looked at his hand, then back at his eyes, weighing her trust in him. Reluctant to hand him he prized jewels.
"If you believe this theory. Then we need to know as much as we can. Me and Thomas." She looked at his hand once more. She stood up clasping a large leather bound folder under her arm. She removed her gaze from Sebastian instead heading towards the other boy in the room.
"Here. Be gentle. Please." She looked at him longingly, romantic, sickening.
Sebastian was left with nothing. He felt invisible once again. He hated it, he hated hiw she had dragged him out here, only to ignore him. He resented the attention Thomas got from her.
"And we need to look into the brothel. And investigate it." She didn't look up from her book only flicked her wand and a map sprawled out infront of him. Westminster. He located cambell Street. No such pub existed. He looked at the neighbouring streets as well, no pub to be seen.
"It's not here." Thomas stood up from his chair and approached him. She remained hunched in the corner.
"If its a dark wizard sanctuary it won't be marked under its collocial name," He leant over Sebastian’s shoulder, he could feel every breath against his skin. "Look here, the Red Virtue. Its two streets down from Cambel. Under a pub. Hold on one second." He wave his wand and another map came flying towards the pair. " There we go, muggle maps have it down as a pub called," He ran his finger along the map. "Ye Olde Knight."
"That's our spot."
