The Heartless

Despite the fact that he was finally in a warm comfortable bed, Sebastian Sallow couldn’t sleep. Perhaps he had gotten used to the atmosphere of azkaban, perhaps now her could only sleep on the floor. So he lay in the warm sheets staring at the ceiling. What he hadn't noticed when he had entered the room before, was that the entire ceiling was painted with different plants. Cornflowers, dittany, and fluttery-bushes danced in an untraceable wind. Foxglove, hydrangea and mallowsweet. All manner of colourful plants. And perhaps most strikingly, yellow peonies. Just like the ones on the dinner table. He wondered if the girl had a garden, where she grew all these plants. He rememberd she quite enjoyed herbology, though much more so growing Chinese chomping cabbages then bluebells. In fact, he had no idea where they actually were. He was in her house of course but how far had they travelled from the ministry. He tried to recount the scene outside the window. It was on the coast, for he could see the water just over the cliff face, and it was somewhat rural, as other then the small cleared area outside the house it was mostly overgrown shrubbery and thistles.
Sometime passed watching the dancing flowers, before he heard a loud bang from the other side of the bungalow. He hesitated a moment before getting to his feet and leaving the room.
The noise continued as he walked through the corridor, through the kitchen past the leather sofa and into the small office on the other side of the house. He opened the door. Looked up and there she stood.
Her arms were held above her head, clutching a thick leather-bound book. Her hair was cascading down her shoulders covering her eyes. She nolonger wore her red coat and was instead in a loose fitting cream tunic. Around her was a reckcage of torn paper, discarded books and broken glass. What had she been doing?
"Get out!" She didn't look at him as she threw the book to the ground. She walked over to the desk under the window and slammed down her hands.
Sebastian didn't move.
"I said get out!"
She sounded furious. Sparks of white lightning flickerd off her body everytime she took a breath as she continued to stare at the desk.
He didn't move.
She turned to face him. Fast enough to send whatever papers were left on the desk flying along with her.
"Depulso!" He was flung out of the room. His back crashed into the edge of the coffee table, as he landed in a pile of medical records.
She stormed towards him again.
Her eyes glowed bright blue against the dark moonlit environment surrounding them as she flexed her gloved hands. She kept breathing, heavily.
"What the hell!"
...
"Go to bed Mr Sallow." Her voice sounded just as shaken, but her words were polite and professional.
"Oh so now I'm Mr Sallow again."
"Go to bed."
"No, you can't just expect me to just return to bed after that."
"Mr Sallow..."
" You attacked me!"
" Like you attacked Thomas!"
...
She was right, he had done that. But he had deserved it.
"He deserved it."
" And you don't!" She was no longer being polite.
"No I didn't."
She laughed. Why was she laughing?

"You're so arrogant."
"What in mer..."
"Do you seriously believe you're so innocent. Thomas was cruel sure, but you, you are heartless."
"No I'm not. I'm not."
" You're not are you?" She laughed again.
"All you have ever done is hurt people Sebastian."
"That's not true."
"Do you know how many nights I had to sit with Ominis because he'd woken from nightmares about you. He used to dream of you stood alongside his father at the Manor. He used flinch everytime your name was spoken. He couldn't talk for weeks. You were the closest thing to family he had. And you did exactly, exactly what he told you not too. He warned you. He warned you so many times. I warned you Sebastian."
"It's not my fault... I had to save Anne."
"Yes let's talk about Anne. To save you sister you decided to what? Control the dark magic inside her was it? Maybe it began as trying to save her Sebastian but it didn't stay that way for long. She told you time and time again not to touch dark magic. And you didn't listen to her. No instead you killed off her only family. Now she doesn't have her uncle or her brother."
" She would have her brother if you didn't send me away to rot!"
"Do you seriously think she'd want to see you after that. She doesn't even want to see you now. She warned me not let you control me again. She trusts you just as little as Thomas does."
"Control you?" He scoffed, "No one has ever been able to control you. Oh great and power troll slayer."
"I did everything for you. The fact that you can't see that proves how selfish you truely are." She stared at him for a moment
"Go to bed Mr Sallow." And this time he listend. He turned on his heels, made his way past the leather couch, through the kitchen, through the corridor and into the bedroom once again.
