Hermione’s Pursuit of Knowledge

Hermione Granger was a very curious child. She was keenly aware of being alive, but had no idea as to why. She tried to speak to her parents about this, but being dentists, science always proved to be the best answer. But she knew that there was something different about her, something different about the world. Things that simply couldn’t be explained by science.This isn’t to say that she was a deeply religious child. But she consumed books on religions and spirituality like there was no tomorrow. If there was a God, why was there death, distruction, rape and murder? She simply couldn’t believe that it was because Eve took a bite out of an apple. First of all, it was inherently sexist to blame all the world's problems on a woman. Second of all, she thoroughly enjoyed apples and truly couldn’t blame Eve.She read books on Islam, Judaism, Buddhism anything she could get her hands on really that would explain why the world was the way she was. That could explain why she could hear the earth sing to her when her bare feet dug into the grass.It wasn’t until she was eight years old that she finally stumbled upon a book that contained the answers to her questions.You guessed it. History of Magic.
