Money flows — boys cry
Izuku slunk into the room, head drooped and shoulders hunched. His grandpa was turned away from him, scribbling something in a faded parchment, unaware of his presence. Izuku's heart weighed heavy with sadness as he realized that that might be the last time he would see his mother in a while.
”Come over here and tell me what's troubling you. I can see the cloud on your head, even all the way from here." His grandpa said. “Or is being in these caverns such a harsh punishment?”
”No!” Izuku dashed over to the desk his grandpa was scribbling at. “It’s just— everything that happened…” Izuku’s eyes got a bit misty.
”If anything. The fault lies on me, for thinking your mother already knew” Izuku looked up. “It’s not!”
“Then perhaps the fault lies in your mother, for not believing in magic until it was too late” Izuku gasped. “Mama was just excited!”
”Maybe it’s Hisashi’s fault, for writing the most boring piece of parchment since the times of merlin.” Izuku furrowed his brows. “I… don’t think so?”
”That just leaves us with the right answer” Izuku looked to the floor, ashamed of what he knew his grandpa would say.
“It's all the bloody wizards fault” Grandpa grumbled, scribbling furiously with his quill pen as spots of black ink splattered on the parchment. Suddenly he stopped and squinted at the paper, before adding more words in a flurry.
Izuku peered perplexedly at his grandpa. “The wizards?” His grandfather's face was unreadable as he solemnly nodded. “Worse than monster-bloods and dumber than a troll with gold. They have the tact of a centaur and the foresight of old elves, it's a blessing you managed to dodge them as long as you did.”
Izuku pondered. “… was the geisha?”
"Aurors are like wild dogs, tethered to a chain. They may be of assistance from time to time, but give them an inch and they’ll take your whole arm off."
"But what is an Auror?" Izuku whispered, his eyes flickering nervously to his grandpa before hugging the egg tightly against his chest. Izuku felt his cheeks heat up in embarrassment; everyone around him was using big, complicated words he had never heard before. Izuku quickly looked down, wishing he knew what they were talking about.
“Ah that’s right, it’s been less than a month since you’ve entered the magic world.”His grandpa furrowed his brows, pressing his fingers into his temples as if to ward off a headache while he carefully weighed up the options.
”I’m no teacher boy, no true goblin is. But if you have a question, I’ll do my best to answer it” Izuku appreciated his grandpa’s honesty.
“Then… when will the chicken hatch?” Izuku held the egg way up high, so his grandpa could see it from his tall chair. “The wha— ah, I see what you mean, it seems you managed to open the vault!” His granpa reached down to grab the egg.
”Ah, yes… this egg. I suspect it will never hatch." He handed it back to Izuku, who nearly dropped it in surprise. "Never?! What do you mean, Grandpa?!" Izuku stammered, worry ringing through his voice. Was something wrong with his beloved giant chicken?!
”That is solid metal, that ain't no egg kid,” grandpa surmised, as Izuku stared at the enigmatic object before him. With wide eyes of curiosity and a growing lump in his throat, he queried “If it's not an egg, then what is it?”
Izuku gave the item a second inspection and realized to his shock, it was heavier than any egg he had held before. After spending the night in his arms, it had not broken or cracked, as if defying the nature of eggs.
“My boy, it be a cover for somethin' mighty special. I can't letcha in on what lies beneath. You’re gonna have open it up and find out yourself” Izuku leaned in closer to the metal, and he could feel the warmth radiating from it. He closed his eyes, and in the pitch blackness of his mind, a single egg-shaped light sparkled before him, a strange shadow inside. Moving.
”There's something inside!” Izuku cried out in glee, eyes widening with elation. “It's… moving!" He tugged excitedly at his grandpa's sleeve to show him the wondrous movement, delighted by the surprise.
”Oh, that's such a wonderful surprise! Why don't you open it and find out what it is?” His grandpa kept writing, but Izuku could see his face light up with excitement.
Izuku placed his hands around the cold metal in an attempt to pry it open, but no matter how hard he tried, his grip had no purchase. He shut his eyes, finally taking a moment to breathe and ponder. There must be a way to unlock this metallic surface. He concentrated on the egg before him, searching for any sign of what he was missing.
Izuku jumped in surprise as he heard loud clanking noises echoing through the room, like giant pots and pans bashing together. He heard something else too, a tiny little voice asking “break?”. Izuku tried to cover his ears but he couldn't since his hands were full with the slippery egg. So he carefully placed it on the floor.
The noise stopped, only the gentle writing of his grandpa could be heard by his side. “Grandpa did you hear that?” He asked, hopeful that he hadn’t imagined it. “Hear what Izuku?”
“The noise! It was very loud— I even heard something say break—“ There was a high pitched noise, and a very large crack formed in the egg’s surface. Brungott stopped writing and went to look at the egg as well, both stood still.
”ITS HATCHING!”
”its not hatching boy, I told you it’s not an egg.”
Izuku's eyes shot back and forth between the egg on the ground, and his grandpa Brungott. A perplexed expression sprawled across his face. "But why did it break? Uh, if it's not hatching..." He stammered, unsure of what to make of this strange event.
”Well boy, if you tell the metal to break then it stands to reason that it would. Not much to think 'bout there. Just common sense.”
“I told it to break? Can it listen to me?!”
“It sure can, doesn’t mean it always will.” Grandpa Brungott laughed happily, “It was probably feeling playful, maybe it heard you thinking about how to go about it and decided to play along.”
Izuku examined the cracked metal. “Uh… hi? My name is Izuku” Izuku bowed carefully to the metal.
“Oh you— you meant—“ His grandpa tried to contain his laugh but failed. “The metal, it’s not sentient. Look, when a metal is forged, it will be taught commands. Like bend, break, twist, the steel that makes up the curtain rods has no awareness of its own actions.Look,”
Brungott waved his hand, and a shining nugget of metal appeared over a metal plate after a few seconds. He threw the nugget at Izuku. “Hold this one and then grip the other, I’m sure you’ll get it.” He went back to writing letters.
Izuku managed to catch the nugget, when he heard a steady, high pitch sound. It made his head hurt a little, but he pressed on, looking to understand what his grandpa was talking about. “…grow…” Izuku heard a small voice coming from the lump of metal.
”…grow…” “grow” “…grow?” It repeated, This time it sounded different, instead of a monotonous tone, it seemed to have multiple voices coming out of it at once. It was different from the egg, that had many different noises crashing against each other, Izuku could hear this one with a distinct clarity.
Izuku tried to repeat the word. “Grow” and a little offshoot germinated from the side of the lump. “Grow!” Izuku said, vigorously. But this time, nothing happened.
Izuku tried something different. “Break!” He chanted, but the metal still didn’t react. What did react was the egg, cracking a little more.
Brungott got up, taking the lump of metal without much trouble. “This is unrefined metal, boy. The only thing it knows how to do is grow. But it probably isn’t going to be doing much of that for a long time”
Brungot twisted the lump and it evaporated with a pop. Izuku sat on the floor.
Izuku analysed the egg once again, he could now see how deep the breakage penetrated into the metal. “Break” He spoke, and the cracks expanded a little more.
Before he could continue, he could see a part of the egg moving. It seemed a bit lose, so he decided to remove the part and see what was inside. The movement in the egg caused him to pause and peer into what seemed like a tiny geode. “Wow…” Izuku gasped at how bright it seemed, he almost didn’t notice a tiny little snout peeking through.
Inside the egg, a purple light shone. Crystalline formations enveloped it in a dazzling array of colors. In the middle, a tiny rat-like creature sat hugging the main crystal tightly. It was no larger than the palm of his hand.
“A little bit bare for a niffler’s terrarium, but it’ll be more comfortable bringing in some treasures of it’s own.” The little niffler was peeking out of the egg, its snout fluttering slightly. It was curious.
“what am I supposed to do with it?” Izuku asked, gingerly picking up the egg.
“Do? that niffler. You keep it. It’s yours, feed it many times a day and go to the caverns so it can have fun.”
“Keep it?” Izuku looked at the niffler, as if asking it if it was true. The niffler kept staring back at him, holding still.
”yes, I can’t be here all day boy. Less so now that you are staying here. It will keep you company.” Brungott gave Izuku a smile, teeth sharp. “Go on, give it a galleon boy”
Izuku tentatively held a small, clean galleon to the egg. The niffler, barely the size of his palm, didn’t seem to have long enough arms to hold it properly. The animal wobbled on its legs and sniffed at Izuku's hand when he was close. An earnest black eye opened and regarded him curiously. It hardly seemed old enough to open its eyes, let alone walk.
“Here” Izuku noticed the niffler adding the galleon he was holding into his pouch. He seemed to struggle with it.
“I have to run off for a bit, you go explore the cave if you want to. Don’t worry about me. I’ll be back in six hours. I left a handful of galleons in your pouch”And with that, grandpa Brungott was gone, the distant clanging of a door reverberating off of stone walls and fading into silence, Izuku looked at the niffler.
”I haven’t had breakfast yet” Izuku’s stomach grumbled, wondering what to do, he just picked up the egg.
the Niffler looked up at Izuku with pleading eyes, unwilling to let go of the coin. “You really like that galleon huh?” Izuku dropped another coin into the egg, and the niffler made some high pitch noises, it gave Izuku a small crystal. “We need to get some food, maybe there’s a store nearby?”
Izuku sped to the door with the egg in his hands, and opened it quickly. The iron gate stood there, painted black with its steel , Izuku closed his eyes, calmly put down the egg in his hands, and wriggled his fingers over the lock. The tip of his index finger touched the door handle, and he pushed it down. The lock fell on the floor.
the light was the same as before, so Izuku pushed it to open the door. It was as heavy as ever.
Izuku heard the distant rumble of trolley down the track, slowly approaching.
“What do you even eat” Izuku asked the niffler, gently picking up the egg and wondering what to do with it. He ended up storing it in his leather pouch.
Izuku stared at the trolley, now in front of him. He wondered how his grandpa used this trolley to get around. Izuku clambered onto the platform with a jump.
He closed his eyes, and saw a light, but when he tried pushing it, it just wouldn’t budge at all. “What, then how…”
Izuku looked around and found a steering wheel that wasn't like any he had ever seen before. He remembered how Kacchan used to play with him in an old console, and thought, "This can't be much different than the racing game we used to play."
the moment his fingers touched it. He heard a loud, high pitched voice.
”LET’S GO!”
And they were off.
——
——
the tracks were flashing in front of him, doors passing by faster than he could look, he could only stare ahead and try not to close his eyes.
the metal in the steering wheel was singing. “LET’S GO!” And kept going faster and faster.
the rails curved around the caverns, humidity hit his face and his knuckles were white from his grip.
”We need to go slower!” He tried to tell the steering wheel, but it just kept going. “GO!”
”NO! NOT GO!” Izuku was getting dizzy, and then they were below a waterfall.
“WE GO GO GO!” Sparks were flying around them. And Izuku was hanging from the steering wheel a moment later, the trolley completely upside down.
Izuku tried to think about something to say! “Grow!” But the metal didn’t listen, “WE GO!” Izuku managed to stay on the trolley until it right itself.
”we go!” “GO” “Let’s go!” Various voices chanted to the beat of the tracks.
Izuku looked around for a pedal, but couldn’t find any, looking to the ground, he found himself high from the ground. More high than the roof of his daycare, Izuku felt his feet getting as cold as ice.
”no, no! B-Break!” Izuku felt himself stop dead in his tracks, he was launched from the trolley and was met with the floor, he had managed to land on his hands and knees, feeling the weight of his body, but not getting any gashes in his clothes.
“Gringotts robbery, who dares?” The question came from behind Izuku, and he felt something cold at his neck. It was sharp like a kitchen’s knife.
Izuku tried looking behind him, but the pressing cold in his neck wouldn’t allow him.
“I said, who dares interfere at Gringotts?!” Izuku felt something wet coursing down his back from behind. “Speak!”
A tapping and scraping came from Izuku’s front, “To rob Gringotts Bank, what could even be worth your…” strange shoes paused clacking quickly from the steps. He sees their pointed toes clear as day.
”Wait Murkeye” a face appeared in front of him, dressed in a familiar attire, the goblin spoke, “What’s your name boy?”
”I’m I—Izuku! Sir!”
“Izuku Gringotts, from the Japanese branch” He roused himself from the floor. “Brungott’s boy, the half-goblin.”
A hand was offered to Izuku, he took it after hearing his grandpa’s name.
“Do… you know grandpa Brungott?” Izuku asked, before suddenly remembering. “Ah! Sorry, I’m Izuku Midoriya” Izuku offered a galleon and bowed to the goblins.
”Merlin’s beard, it looks like someone called Brungott a grandpa!” The goblin guffawed, and slapped his other companion on the shoulder, laughing. “Keep your coin boy, perhaps on our second meeting, have this” The goblin went to put a galleon in his pouch, when the baby niffler intersected it and burrowed under the pouch again.
”Ah Murkeye look! The boy’s got a niffler, mighty useful innit?” The man looked at the other goblin, “say something Murkeye, the boy might think yer mute”
”I almost killed that boy Solbook, this ain’t no laughing matter.” The goblin sneered at Izuku. “Other guards strike first and ask questions later. Boy, what are you doing so far from home?”
Izuku was baffled, far from home? But he just got here. “Ah sorry misters… I was looking for a store to get some food, I haven’t had breakfast…”
The two guards looked at each other. “Boy, you’re in the british branch of Gringotts Bank, you could’ve eaten by the lounge room—“
”—Well we must fix that immediately!” Interrupted the friendly goblin, “what do you usually have for breakfast?”
”mmm… eggs?” Izuku wondered if these goblins knew a nearby store. “Ah yes, you were raised by monster bloods right?” asked the serious goblin. “—We’ll show you true goblin cuisine, hold tight” said the friendly goblin while leaving.
Izuku was left with the serious goblin, who was equally uncomfortable in this situation. “So… I’m Izuku”
”I know that now”
”…”
“…”
”so… what’s your name?” Izuku tentatively asked, voice small. “I’m not giving you my coin boy” The goblin responded, grumbling by the side.
”…”
“…although, I’m curious young man. How did you manage to drive over half the world?”
Izuku didn’t understand the serious goblin. “But we’re still in the caverns?” He tried.
“Gringott’s bank is a network of tunnels that spans across the whole wide world. Getting to a different branch directly can’t be done by chance, the trolley must’ve—“ The goblin gave a pause and looked at Izuku, “faulty trolley, I must report this.”
Izuku looked on as the goblin ran towards the tracks, but the trolley had already vanished.
”How unusual” Izuku heard in the distance the rhythmic clank of a trolley. He shifted away from the tracks. There was something wet dripping to his shirt in the back of his neck.
Izuku tried to grab his neck and check what was happening when his hand came back red. A thick smear of blood on his fingertips. “Oh”
the world went dark.
—
Izuku felt a scarf around his neck. “Huh, wha—?”
“Ah, you’re awake boy” An unknown voice called out, waking Izuku with gentle pat on the head. “How are you feeling?”
Izuku tried to look around, but his vision was blurry. He felt a prick on his arm and winced. “Ow! What… happened?”
“You fainted from blood loss” The voice said, and Izuku felt a bandage being taped to his arm. “Hope you won’t mind us moving the scar to your arm, it was bleeding too much in your neck”
Izuku slowly sat up, looking to a familiar room. “We’re in the… guest room?”
The room was furnished with a bed and dresser that matched the one in the guest room, but something was off. The paintings were of all different sizes; the chest that held extra linens was a dark creamy shade instead of pinewood, and the cushions on the sofa were so hard he couldn't get comfortable even from just resting there.
”not quite.” The stranger came into view, “Ah, I guess introductions are in order” He offered Izuku a Galleon, Izuku tried to take one off his pouch, but it was nowhere in sight. “My name is Warwick, I’m the head goblin here at Uk’s Gringotts Bank. I’m also your cousin many times removed”
Izuku blinked at the stranger, and slowly took the galleon. “Well… I’m Izuku Midoriya and I’m—“ Izuku was interrupted by Warwick. “—Midoriya? No no, you’re a Gringott, boy, you better be proud!”
”No… my family name is Midoriya— I’m sure” Izuku said, firmly. He knew his own surname, he even learned how to write it a bit ago!
”Well… you might be a Midoriya for the monster bloods, but down here, it’s best you remember your own name, trust me.” The stranger stood and fetched some tea. “Green or black?”
Izuku slowly lifted his eyes. He remembered his hair being green. “Green!” The stranger looked around, and with a flick of his hand, a tray with an ornate tea set appeared on the table in front of Izuku.
Izuku watched in amazement as the tea began to pour itself into the teacups on their own. The hot, strong liquid sat steaming in the delicate cups. He noticed a light between blinks, he pushed it towards Warwick. “Ah, you speak Gobbledegook” Warwick raised an eyebrow and asked, “How much do you know?”
Izuku looked at him funny. “Gobly— what?” He had no idea what he was talking about.
“Goblin metal bends, squeals, and creaks in the most unnatural ways, I’m sure you’ve noticed it, so go on lad, speak.”
Izuku thought about how the sound of metal seemed to scream certain things, and he started babbling the little he had heard. “Grow and break…”
Izuku remembered his run with the trolley. “And go” Izuku mumbled.
”You’re a bright five year old boy, and I’m sure you’ll learn the language just fine.” He took a sip from his tea. Izuku saw his own tea cup and tried to move it to his face, just to send it crashing to the nearest wall.
”you’ve got quite a way to go still” The goblin continued sipping his tea. “Ah yes. I forgot you hadn’t breakfast yet,” a silver tray came flying with some eggs and mushrooms. “Cheers”
Izuku slowly ate the eggs with gusto, he didn’t want to admit it, but they were better than the ones his mom made.
”Was I not… supposed to be here?” Izuku asked slowly, perplexed that he didn’t know what to make of this situation.
”You can go wherever you want boy. “ the man said to Izuku, “These caverns are ours by right, it was just that one of the guards didn’t get the news”
”news?”
“Every grandchild of gringott may roam these caves we built. But it’s not everyday a new face comes along to the family!” The man smiled. All sharp edges, dark black eyes sparkling. “Everyone in your house knows you, everyone in the russian and asian branches will know you. But here? Some of us know you, but had you gone all the way to the americas? You’d been killed.”
A cold shiver ran through Izuku as he grasped another cup by the table. He took a sip and felt the warmth of the tea shooting down his throat, but it also brought with it an empty feeling. The second cup slowly began to warm him.
“No one could’ve anticipated you’d come so far, but this might be for the better boy, here take this” Izuku looked at the object offered, it was a golden quill. “This is a replacement I made a while ago. As mine had lost a bit of it’s sheen”
The man reached into his breast pocket, and taking up a quill there, it was faded. He fiddled with the ornately carved, gilded nib of the brass writing implement before taking a piece of parchment from his coat and setting it on the marble table.
“Only those of Gringott can carry this quill. It will write everything it hears if you set it in a parchment, look” Izuku saw as the quill stood against gravity, and began writing in a language Izuku didn’t know.
“It writes in english, so it do you good to learn it, you won’t be wearing that shirt all the time will you?” Izuku looked down to his white shirt, wondering what did it have to do with anything.
”I was going to tell you something more… what was it?” The goblin moved the quill with his finger, not managing to push it down. “Ah yes, the guards told me you were looking for a diner down in the caverns?”
Izuku nodded.
“Boy, a true goblin will not scrounge through the trash for its food. The mountains and caves will do you proper.” The man took a leather bag from behind the table. “This fella already knows the deal, picked up some weeds by the door. Learn from it.”
Izuku took the leather pouch from Warwick, the niffler’s snout peeking through the opening.
“Of course… this ain’t for free, It’s mine craftsmanship after all” Izuku suddenly felt guilty, and didn’t know if he carried enough to pay for it, the goblin kept massaging his temples in thought. “Ah, perhaps you can pay me in visits, it’s rather uncommon to have a goblin in its infancy nearby, might bring luck, who knows” Izuku nodded fiercely, he would come visit his cousin if that’s what he wanted, he was sure Brungott would agree.
“The next trolley might take some time to arrive, so try practicing the word Home so it’ll know where to take you” then the goblin was out a door with a familiar golden doorknob that most certainly didn’t go to the caverns. “Thank you Mr.Warwick!” He yelled at the door, a distant laugh followed him.
Izuku set the bag on his shoulder, and took the quill. The quill was heavier than he expected, with a metal-like sheen around it. It didn’t speak as much as other metals, but when he traced his finger along it’s side, he heard a quiet “yes you are”
Izuku wasn’t about to be picky with this quill, as compared to previous experiences, this metal seemed rather polite.
Izuku went out the door leading to the caverns, and noticed a familiar metal gate. The design was a bit different, but he opened it without much trouble.
Izuku felt cold wind hit his face, and stretched his seemingly asleep body. When he opened his eyes, he noticed someone watching him, eyes wide, by the other side of the track. Izuku turned to fix them with a questioning look. The stranger must have been close to his own age, maybe a little taller. They were much smaller than kacchan had been, but the same ash blonde hair.
”Wh—Who are you?!” The other boy gasped, in horror, so Izuku came a bit closer to speak to the other boy. “Hi! I’m Izuku Mid— Gringott, Izuku Gringott, and I’m exploring the caverns!” Izuku gave the boy his hand, which the other took hesitantly. “Ah! Here” Izuku remembered, and gave the boy a galleon.
The other boy looked questioningly at Izuku, then at the galleon. “So, who are you? What are you doing in the caverns?”
“You’re a Gringott…?” The boy asked suspiciously. “But… you’re not a goblin”
Izuku puffed his chest, trying to channel his best impression of grandpa Brungott. “But of course I’m a goblin! You can ask grandpa Brungott!” Izuku crossed his arms. “But you still haven’t answered my question, what are you doing here? Are you also a goblin?”
The other boy gasped again, appalled. “What?!— me, a goblin?! Of course not! Doesn’t the name Malfoy ring any bells?” The boy looked to the side, as if upset, but Izuku still shook his head.
”that’s a weird surname, never heard it before, anyway. If you’re not a goblin, and not exploring the caverns, what are you doing here?”
“W—well!” The boy seemed as if he was confused about something, “my mom took me to admire our wealth in the family vault! You see we’re very rich!” The boy smiled and closed his eyes, “but you surely don’t know much about that, do you?”
Izuku shook his head, he didn’t know much about money yet, his mom had said so when he asked why he couldn’t buy the latest All Might figurine with the money she had given him. “I guess I don’t”
The nearby vault opened, and from inside came a tall woman dressed in black, a sneer stuck on her face. “A thief?!” She screeched. Izuku ran over to her.
”ah! Pardon me ma’m, I was just speaking with the boy there, I’ll be on my way when my trolley arrives.”
The woman stoped screaming, and appraised the boy. Her eyes opened slightly after a few seconds. “Oh— how rude of me not to introduce myself, I’m Narcissa Malfoy, and that young boy is my son, Draco” She smiled warmly at him. “I hope he wasn’t too rude”
”don’t worry about it Mrs.Malfoy, my best friend can be a bit rude as well,” Izuku smiled at the woman, thinking back at the quick temper of his best friend. “Ah! Here,” Izuku handed the woman a Galleon, and she took it gracefully.
“I’m sorry to tell you this… but my family makes no stones, maybe this will suffice?” She took one of her many rings, and handed it to Izuku, who took it with a smile.
“Ah! I forgot to introduce myself,” Izuku bowed to the mother. “I’m Izuku Gringott, happy to meet you!” The woman grabbed her son by the arm and brought it there. He seemed extremely confused.
“Say hello to Izuku, Malfoy,” Narcissa kept a warm smile, but the boy seemed reluctant.
”…hello”
Izuku gave a sympathetic smile to the boy, he remembered how Mitsuki took Kacchan to meet other kids to ‘socialise’ him.
“Perhaps next time you could visit us? Malfoy would be delighted to bring a friend over” Malfoy stared at his mom in shock, and a little betrayal. “But I don—“ His mother grasped the boy’s shoulder the same was Mitsuki did when Kacchan was misbehaving in public. “Don— don’t think my room is clean…”
”Oh, then maybe we’ll have it clean for when Izuku visits.
Izuku felt a bit awkward, so he just nodded and smiled. In the distance, a trolley came to the guest rooms’s station.
”Ah! That’s for me, I’ll get going then, maybe we’ll see each other next time I’m here!” Izuku told Draco, and boarded the trolley. He gave a small wave and touched the handle by the trolley.
he was off.

Malfoy saw the strange halfbreed take off at a speed he didn’t know the trolleys could achieve, “Mother?! Why on earth did you invite that filthy halfbreed to our mansion?!” He stared at his mother, as if she had lost her mind.
”Draco. While indeed he is a filthy halfbreed, he’ll become an incredibly important person in the future, you can’t go wrong making him your friend.”
”but…but…” Draco pleaded, unsure of how to process this betrayal to his family’s history.
”I know it’s difficult, it’s twice as hard for me to bear his presence, but Gringott connections are incredibly hard to come by. All goblins despise wizards. So it’s a miracle to find a Gringott Halfbreed the same age as you. Willing to talk to us no less”
Malfoy still didn’t want to believe his mother’s words. “I don’t doubt your father’s choices or words my dear Draco. But with a friend in Gringotts, you’ll have nothing to fear.”
”But I’m a Malfoy! I’m not afraid of anything mother!” Narcissa laughed at her son’s naiveness, and hugged him softly.
“Let’s keep it that way then”
She wouldn’t let this opportunity fly by. She looked at the galleon given to her, then at her son. Nobody would stand taller than her family, and she would make sure of it.
