The Book of Blacks
Summary
The Black siblings; Sirius, Adhara, and Regulus, were a tad bit different than any other children in the Wizarding World. They had somewhat of a happy childhood - living in the Black Family Manor in the South of France with their nanny, and exploring the grounds within the speared iron gates that surrounded the vast property. They spent their free time playing imaginary games and causing mischief wherever they went, especially tiring out tutor after tutor, while their parents worked in London. But everything changed when Sirius was finally of age and went to Hogwarts. It changed when he met four little boys in one of the train compartments in the Hogwarts Express. And it definitely changed that next year, when Adhara and Regulus were of age to go to Hogwarts as well.
Note
The beginning of this fanfiction provides some background of the Black children's lives leading up to Hogwarts, and until Adhara's and Regulus' Sorting Ceremony. From then on, it skips a few years to their teenage years, and the story continues from that "official" starting point.

Chapter 2

SIRIUS GETS HIS LETTER:

A few years later, and the day finally came. Sirius’ Hogwarts letter finally arrived on the doorstep of the Black Manor. Sirius always begged Merlin for this day to come faster, and now it was finally happening. Some might say that Sirius was exceedingly impatient - but he would disagree. He was more than ecstatic, and when two of his family’s servants came back to the manor with all of his Hogwarts textbooks and supplies for his first year, he was even more excited (if that were possible).

Two days before leaving for Kings Cross Station, Walburga and Orion surprised Sirius with an owl of his very own. The owl was mainly black with some white spots scattered around its feathers, and it had striking yellow eyes. Adhara and Regulus could only watch in amazement at the giant owl, perching on the back of Sirius’ chair. “What are you going to name him?!” Regulus squealed with excitement. Besides their parent’s owls, they had never seen another one. So as you could imagine, the three Black children were each seriously attentive to the new owl that was perched in the parlor room. “Hmmm” Sirius thought long and hard, he had to pick a cool name for his owl, otherwise the other kids wouldn’t find him. . . well, cool.

“Ink.”

Adhara looked at him in pure disbelief.

Regulus just smiled with his mouth open and nodded, clearly admiring the name that his older brother picked.

Walburga just stared at her son and shook her head with disappointment. Orion wasn’t listening to the previous conversation - he was looking over Ministry documents, but he saw Walburga leave, so he did too.

“Ink” Adhara said, “you decided to name your owl, Ink.”

Sirius just stood there, smiling and nodding, “well, yeah! I did.” Sirius and Regulus thought the name for the new owl was cool, and Adhara clearly had no leverage here, so she decided to just leave the whole thing alone altogether. “Ok then, welcome home. . . Ink”
