Chapter 32
At intermission Harry jumped out of his seat so fast he almost fell.
“Harry-“ Draco started.
“How about that drink now, you like gin right?” Harry hurried away from him towards the concourse. He stood in the line and shifted nervously on his feet.
You've lost it! He screamed internally.
Harry kept letting people in front of him, trying to stretch out the time. At last the lights flickered again and the second act was beginning soon. Harry stepped to the counter and ordered. By the time he made it back to his seat Donna and Sam were already singing SOS. He gave Draco his drink and then forced himself to look forward for the remainder of the show.
When at last the show had ended the theater emptied at a glacial pace. Harry squirmed nervously in his chair when Draco made no move to stand.
“Harry-“ Draco tried again.
“Did you like it?” Harry cut him off. Draco looked at him for a long moment. Harry tried to plead with his eyes Not here, Not now.
“Yes. I enjoyed it. I understand it was compiled from the songs of a popular band. Have you heard of them?”
“Yes, I have some of their albums at home.” Harry was finally able to stand and make his way to the aisle.
“You should play them for me sometime.” Draco said following him.
The car ride home was quiet and when the driver jolted them Draco did not reach out. Back at Grimmauld Harry tried to retreat to his office but Draco caught his hand.
“Oh no you don’t.” Draco said, dragging Harry down the hall and upstairs to what had recently become their room. Draco shut the door as Harry walked over towards the couches.
“Now about the theater…” Draco left Harry an opening to explain himself.
“I thought it was a nice place, a little small.” Harry tried to side step.
“Harry.” Draco said in his scolding tone. He stepped towards Harry who felt pressured by the closing space.
“I didn’t mean to say it! It just came out okay!” Harry looked at Draco and tried to read his expression.
“So you didn’t mean it?” Draco asked hesitantly. Harry couldn’t tell if Draco wanted him to say yes or no so he decided to just tell the truth.
“Of course I meant it… I just didn’t mean to say it.” Harry stepped towards Malfoy and grabbed his hand.
“Is there a difference?”
“Yes.” Harry promised. “I’m not going to say my delivery was perfect but I won't take it back.”
“So you meant it.”
“I meant it.”
“You mean it still? You mean it right now?” Draco pressed.
“Yes.”
“But you won’t say it again, because I’m not meant to know?” Their cryptic little conversation continued.
“Do you wish I didn’t say it?” Harry held his breath as he waited for the reply.
“Actually I think I’d like to hear you say it again… so I can convince myself that maybe it’s true.”
“I love you.” Harry smiled.
“How do you know?”
“I just know.” Harry pulled Draco close and caught him in a kiss. If the other man had more questions he wasn’t showing any intent of asking them now. Draco pushed Harry backwards towards the couches. When one knocked into the back of his knees he fell and pulled Draco with him.
Tangled together on the couch their kisses picked up rhythm. Harry felt a heat spread through his body and when their hips crashed together Draco made a noise in his throat that made the burning even worse. With one hand Harry pulled Malfoy’s tie off and with the other he pushed at his suit jacket. Draco had his own agenda, pawing at Harry’s shirt buttons so that he could feel his chest. When their hips crashed again there was no doubt that both could feel what the other wanted. Draco paused and looked down at Harry, who bit his lip.
“Do you want to?” Draco asked breathlessly.
“I have my own confession.” Harry said nervously.
“Oh?” Draco arched an eyebrow.
“I’ve never… with a guy.. I haven’t…” Harry was too embarrassed to get the sentence out.
“Well I’m happy to be the first then.” Draco repeated Harry’s own words back to him. When they kissed again it was sweeter. The fever Harry had felt before had dimmed to a simmer. Draco was slow, careful, as he moved and they undressed one another. Soon they were in nothing but their boxers. Draco hovered above Harry with a look in his eye turned the fire back to ten.
“Don’t be nervous.” Draco whispered so lowly Harry almost couldn’t hear it.
“I don’t know what to do.” Harry admitted. He felt as if his whole body might be shaking in anticipation.
“What do you want to do?” Draco asked, his lips vibrating against Harry’s as he spoke. Harry didn’t think about it. His hand immediately went to Draco’s hip and he pulled them together, trying to make the appreciative noise reappear in Draco’s throat. His wish was granted and suddenly the kisses were heavier again, the softness was gone.
Draco shifted, pressing a leg between Harry’s and resting his weight fully down on top of him. Harry’s breath hitched in his throat, for a moment he thought he might choke on the feeling of Draco’s body pressed so firmly against his. Harry tried to turn sideways but realized there wasn’t enough real estate on the couch. He pushed Draco up.
“What’s wrong?” Draco looked worried.
“Can we move to the bed?” Harry asked. Instead of waiting for a reply he stood and took Draco’s hand, pulling him up. When Draco got up he pushed himself back into Harry and began kissing him again. Harry bent his knees and grabbed Draco’s legs, lifting him up. Draco wrapped his legs around Harry’s waist and let himself be carried to the bed.
Harry dropped Draco backwards but he didn’t unwrap his legs and Harry was pulled over on top of him. Harry smiled against his lip as they continued. He wanted badly to touch him, to feel him, but he wasn’t sure. Carefully he slid his hand down Draco’s chest and across his stomach. Harry let his thumb slip just under Malfoy’s waistband and trace the skin there slowly. Draco broke their kiss and Harry felt he must have done something wrong.
“Please.” Draco begged beneath him. Harry looked down at his face and saw a want there that he had never seen before from anyone. He granted Draco’s request and leaned back down to find his lips once more.
Beneath his touch Draco came undone and then suddenly it was Harry's turn. He stared at the ceiling as his hands clutched to Draco’s hair. He never knew anything could feel like this. His heart was bursting from his chest and he pressed his eyelids together forcefully as the sensation overwhelmed him.
Draco curled into Harry’s side as they laid sideways over the bed. Harry wrapped both arms around him and pressed a kiss into the top of his head.
“Harry?” Draco checked to see if he was still awake.
“Hmmm?”
“I guess I found your tattoo.”
