Chapter 11 - Anything for you
I tighten my grip on Poppy’s hand as we stare down into the hole in the ground, Ominis looks forward sombrely while holding the other hand.
The whole graveyard is filled with people, old and young, Alma Sweeting’s had touched many lives as the owner of a small herbology store in Hogsmeade, always offering to help the younger students how to use dangerous plants and advising the best ways to grow them, she even at one point stood in at hogswart when the teacher had been eaten and spat back out by a particularly large venomous tentacula.
After the service we will head back to the three broomsticks to celebrate Alma’s life, when Poppy goes to speak with some of her distant relatives I managed to corner Ominis.
“So I’ve been thinking, I’m going to come home next week once Poppy is settled and I’m wondering if you’d like to stay with me until the teaching dorms are ready for you, I don’t want you to be without somewhere comfortable and I know your old bed is probably already gone”.
“Millicent, are you trying to ask me to stay with you?”, he grins suggestively.
“In a round way I suppose”.
He laughs and reaches forward to lightly hold my shoulder.
“So are we sharing a bed? Or am I destined to live on your sofa forever?”, he laughs and I blush a deep red colour, my skin tingles at the thought.
“The sofa is comfortable, better than a dorm mattress any day, don’t be ungrateful” I tease, “anyway it would just be for a couple of months, I hate being alone and I know you do too, the idea of going back to Feldcroft is daunting enough, never mind on my own”.
Ominis looks directly towards my face, “I’d do anything for you”.
“I know”.
