SLYTHERIN VS GRYFFINDOR
January rolled into Feb and soon the whole castle was buzzing about what was going to happen.
Slytherin vs Gryffindor.
Being an Old age rivalry there was lot of expectations about the match
Sirius was making the Team practice more than not
“Oi Regulus, cant you make you brother leave us early at least today” A 4th Year Laurent Julian who was a Chaser asked Regulus
“I am right beside you Julian and the answer is going to be no, so go and practice” Sirius replied annoyed at the boy
Julian just blushed and flew over to Join Mulciber and Parkinson
The 2 Brothers just laughed at him
“We will get the Gryffs Siri” Regulus replied
“Well I have no doubt about that Little brother” Sirius replied ruffling Regulus hair
“Stop it” Regulus replied annoyed
Sirius was excited at playing his first ever quidditch match but also horrified at having to play aginst his House or atleast his Original house
But nevertheless he practiced hard along with the other beater Marcus Grey, a 3rd Year.
Soon Feb 20th came and so was the Match
“Welcome to Gryffindor vs Slytherin” Andrew West, 6th year Ravenclaw and the quidditch commentator boomed through the microphone
“Slytherins are the favorite with the Black brothers being in excellent form as they showed when they defeated Hufflepuff 370-20 with Sirius accurate hitting of the Bludgers and Regulus excellent catch of the snitch being well documented
But Sirius didn’t mind as he led the Slytherin with wild cheers from the Slytherin crowd and boos and jeers from the Gryffindors.
“The Slytherins make their way led by Captain Sirius black. Mucliber Parkinson and Julian the chasers. Black and Marcus Grey the Beaters , Julian Greengrass the keeper and finally Slytherin Star seeker Regulus Black” West continued
And he looked in the other direction as David Andrews led the Gryffindors.
“The Gryffindor make their way led by Captain and Seeker David Andrews, James Potter Mason Tickett and Patrick Dorcus the Chasers, Jeremy Clarke and William Balbirne the Beaters and Warren Drumm the Keeper.”
He remembered David who was 2 years ahead of them and was the Seeker who graduated in his 5th Year and James became the captain of the Team succeeding Andrews.
“Madam Hooch is in the middle and the 2 Captains Andrews and Black come forward to shake hands”
Sirius went over where Madam Hooch and Andrews were waiting
“Now listen I want a fair game, make sure you both control the team Mr.Black and Mr.Andrews” she was instructing them
Sirius and Andrews shook hands
“Good luck” Sirius said
“I don’t need your Luck Mr.Black but thank you” Andrews replied
Sirius won the Coin toss and choose the quaffle
He flew over to his team and tossed the quaffle to Olivia
“Come on we have the early advantage and have to make it right” he advised them
“Black has won the toss and has the quaffle and he tossed it over to Parkinson, the first girl in 50 Years to play for Slytherin”
“She zooms over the Gryffindor post and evading the Bludger from Clarke throws the quaffle past Drumm and it is 10-0 to Slytherin”
“Potter now has the quaffle but an excellent hit from Black and he droped the quaffle and Mulciber catches it but Balbirne shows his skille as he hits a bludger and Mulciber drops it and Tickett catches it and throws it past Greengrass to make it 10-10 to Gryffindor
The Gryffindors cheered at this.
“Now Parkinson has the quaffle and she scores to make it 20-10
It was the Slytheirn turn to cheer
Sirius then hit a well timed bludger towards ticket and he dropped it and Mulciber caught it and made it 30-10
But gryffindor swiftly equalized by James and Dorcas
“And Dorcas scores and now it Is 30-30 each” West announced
“And Looks like Black has spotted the snitch and Andrews follows him, no false alarm the snitch hasn’t been spotted it was Black Reflection from his Golden watch”
Soon Mulciber and Parkinson scored to make it 50-30 but James scored thrice to make it 50-60
Sirius was awestruck by James talent and how he wished he could congratulate him
James evaded the bludgers sent his path by both Sirius and Grey.
Soon Olivia scored thrice to make it 80-60 but Dorcas scored to make it 80-70
“The Snitch has been spotted and this time it is for real” West yelled
Both Andrews and Regulus flew towards the Snitch to catch it as it evaded the two of them
“It is a real tussle between the two seekers as the snitch is escaping them”
Regulus had nearly caught it when Balbrine sent a Bludger his way which distracted Regulus and he lost sight of the snitch
Sirius did the same to Andrews and it had the same effect
“Excellent work from both Balbirne and Black to distract the 2 Seekers and now both have lost sight of the Snitch”
But James scored 4 times and Mucliber scored thrice and now the score was 110-110
The game went on and it was now 250 to Slytherin and 240 to Gryffinfor and both the seekers were trying to catch the snitch which was evading them
“And the snitch has been spotted, Black and Andrews are in hot pursuit of the Shiny Flying Snitch”
Regulus zoomed past Andrews and finally after much struggle caught snitch
“Black has caught the snitch, Slytherin win 400-240, a hard faught game between the two rivals but is the Green and Silver which wins over the Scarlett and Gold” West yelled
The Slytherin crowd were jubiliated and were shouting “Gryffindor suck’”
“Well done reggie” Sirius said as they landed on the ground
“Thanks but boy Andrews was quick on my trial” Regulus said giving a huge sigh of relief
Sirius put a Hand over his brother’s shoulder and they walked over the rest of the Slytherin
“Excellent work the two of you” Slugghorn congratulated them
“Thank you Professor” they both replied in union
Soon there was huge party in the Common Room
And for the first time Sirius didn't mind being a Slytherin for a day but ofcourse he wont tell it to anyone.
