Chapter 7
Jack and Maddie sadly watched as their children were ushered into the room, a glass wall separating them. Maddie placed a hand on the glass with a sigh. “I’m sorry we made you think we rejected you Danny but it was the only way we could catch Vlad in all his lies. Know that we love you both and just want what’s best for you even if it means signing our parenting rights over to Doctor Lake.”
Danny choked back a sob, placing his hand against were his mom had her’s. “I love you too mom, dad.” Is all he is able to get out before he turned and pressed into Jazz’s side to hide his tears.
Jazz smiled at them. “Thanks, he needed to hear that mom. I also think it’s best if he stayed in Arcadia, he’s made friends here and some aren’t exactly human.”
As she spoke the rest of their group came into the room causing both adults mouths to fall open.
“There is more then ghosts out there. There’s also trolls, beings from other planets, Wizards and dragons.” A boy who looked like an older Danny told them. “I’m Jim Lake and one of the three leaders of Arcadia’s champions as well as the last Trollhunter chosen by Merlin. My fellow leaders are Krel Tarron of House Tarron, king in waiting of Akiridion five and Hisirdoux Casperan once apprentice and now successor to Merlin.”
Danny pulled away from Jazz and turned to face their parents once more as he wiped away his tears, a small smile coming to face as they stared at both him and Jazz in awe struck silence.
Douxie takes that moment to speak up. “Not only is Jim one of my co-leaders he’s also king Arthur’s successor as the wielder of Excalibur making him a king in his own right.”
The Fenton adults gaze was drawn upward when a ghost appeared above the group and proceeded to speak. “This is the next generation who will lead us into a future of peace and Daniel will be right there with them as not only a representative for ghosts but as king of all ghosts.”
“Clockwork is right. Since I was the one who defeated Phariah Dark I’m the new ghost king and I’ve chosen what used to be troll market here to be my lair outside of the ghost zone, at least until I’m full ghost. Krel and Douxie have already opened up a portal into the ghost zone so I can go between realms or the ghosts can come here.”
Claire grinned as she spoke next. “We already have a few who’ve taken up residence in several empty houses and troll market.”
“So you see ghosts can coexist with others peacefully and not all ghosts are evil.” Jazz told them as more ghosts appeared overhead.
Knowing they are no longer needed and that their children are in good hands, among the future leaders of their world, Maddie and Jack leave, making sure to give parental rights to Barbara before they went home.
Once they were gone Claire opened a portal into troll market and everyone passed through to go celebrate their victory over Vlad.
