Chapter 1
For many years Merlin wondered the world, never staying in one place for long until he came across a uninhabited island with plenty of fresh water and land perfect for growing a garden. First thing he did was ward the island as well as make it invisible to any who didn’t live on it.
Once that was taken care of he used his magic to build a smaller version of Camelot then went to go buy what he needed that magic couldn’t create.
On certain occasions Merlin would go to visit any child that was gifted with the same kind of magic as he had and, if he deemed them worthy he would offer to teach them how to use their magic, inviting the whole family to live on his island, if he felt them unworthy he would bind their ability to use old magic before wiping their memories of it and him then leaving without them. One such child was given the name Tom, who Merlin knew was destined to grow up to become a dark wizard.
After leaving the boy behind he kept a eye on him, waiting for the moment he would need to bring his new group of students to his island, this group being a whole generation of magic users.
He informed his students who had left his island when each child was born so they could retrieve and bring them to the island. When they turned eleven he would inform them of any family they had at their place of birth and let them decide if they wanted to leave or stay.
The last of the children he decided to get himself, which found him outside a simple house Halloween night as he waited for the right moment to enter the house. He quickly made his way inside and to the intended room where he found the one year old. “Shhh, it’s going to be alright. We’ll be at your new home soon.” Merlin soothed as he packed things he’ll need then lifted the baby into his arms and left before anyone else showed up.
