Daigon alley

Lirum woke up that morning in late August excited they would be seeing their friends again for the first time in months. Throwing in their gray jumper and trousers before grabbing something quick from their kitchen.

“Hey Grandpa, don’t forget I’ll be heading out with the Weasleys today. There isn’t anything you want me to do beforehand right?” Lirum Called out quickly as they rushed down the stairs.

“No dear, you’re welcome to go and have fun. Don’t forget the pocket money I gave you. And o-oh slow down or you’ll miss them!” The old man said Curly white hair bobbing as he spun around.

“What do you mean?” Lirum said turning to see mrs. Weasley and a man she had to assume was mr. Weasley stood in an isles as Ginny looked at wands.

Lirum had completely forgotten about Ginny. It would be her first year no wonder Percy thought it would be easy to stop on for a chat. They would be coming here anyway to get Ginny a wand. Though if that was a case where were the boys? Lirum’s question was answered almost immediately when they were spooked out of their skin by the twin boys who grabbed them from behind.

“Fred! George! Knock it off! It’s like you two are trying to kill me!” Snapped still no Percy I’m sight.

“Oh come on now. We just wanted to see the bunny do a little hop!” The twins chimed together.

“Boys behave or Lirum won’t want to come with us.” Ms weasley snapped. Ginny still looking a bit overwhelmed behind her.

“Did you want any help ginny?” Lirum offered.

“Oh dear, todays your day to relax you don’t have to help. She’ll figure it out.” Mr Weasley said waving lirum off.

“It’s ok really. I enjoy making Wanda and helping out if she wants the help I’ll gladly step in.”

“She’s fine-“ Mrs. Weasley started only to get cut off by Ginny.

“I would actually like the help thanks.” She said looking at the massive shelf full of boxes.

“Ok we’ll tell me a little bit about yourself

“Well I love quidditch and my family! I want to be brave and strong one day I’ll be undefinable!” Ginny said full of heart cause lirum to think for a second.

“Well I’m that case we have a few options I’ll start with woods. Let’s see here, Lurch is known for instilling confidence and courage but you seem to have plenty of that. Rowan for being protective and dependable or maybe…” lirum said walking toward the end of the shelves.”Yew a rare snd powerful wand for a rare and powerful witch.”

“That sounds perfect!” Ginny squealed excitedly as Lirum’s hand ghosted over the shelf deciding between boxes.

“Ah, perfect Yew wood, quite flexible, dragon heartstring and fourteen inches.” Lirum said full of pep as they slid the box out of the pile turning and handing it to Ginny. “Well go on then, I can’t just pick the wand for you! You have to try it or you’ll never know if it fits.”

“It’s so pretty are you sure?” Ginny said before grabbed the wand. The smile that erupted on her face was priceless. Ginny cried wrapped lirum in a tight hug. “It’s perfect! Thank you!”

“Hey I just pointed you in the right direction is all it was up to you and the wand of you’d get along.”

“It was bloody brilliant.” Fred said standing with the rest his family.

“I see you really have been learning all summer.” Percy said making his appearance from the other side of the shelves. Prefect badge pinned to his sweater vest shining proudly.

“Oh come on now, to the counter let’s stop wasting time.” Lirum said gesturing everyone forward a little flush.

“Well, how much will this cost us Mr Ollivander.” Mrs. Weasley asked.

“May I see the box.” He asked taking a quick look before replying. “That should come to four galleons.”

“Four?” Mr. Weasley asked shocked.

“That must be a mistake wands typical run between seven to ten galleons.” Mrs. Weasley claimed starring at Lirum’s grandfather oddly.

“Well this wand was made by our stores apprentice wand maker. And though I can guarantee it’s quality with absolutely certainty I couldn’t charge you full price. It wasn’t a master craftsman who made this wand after all.” Mr Ollivander explained calmly.

“That’s still half the price of a new wand! I can’t accept it. How would you afford to stay open.” Mr weasley argued.

“It’s just a small friends and family discount. Don’t worry It will still cover materials and labor. Besides with the luck you lot have, I’m sure to get the business later.” He joked before the Weasleys reluctantly gave over the money. While George creeped his way next to Lirum.

“Wow thanks to you we might actually be able to afford all those books now.” George whispered so only they could here.

“What do you mean?” They whispered in response.

“Our required books this year are all Lockhart books their gonna be bloody expensive.” He answered.

“Oh well I already have a complete collection but I was going to buy a new signed set at Flourish and Blotts book signing. If you need you can have my old ones, not first edition or anything but they’re still quite well taken care of-wait never mind!” Lirum said slight panic evident in their tone.

“Oh come on you can’t back out now why are you so nervous.” George teased nudging lirum and pulling a stray ringlet that had turned punk. ”You doodled on the edges, didn't you, Thumper?”

“H-how did you know that!” They stammered pulling away from George.

“You do it in class too you know.” George teased reaching a hand out for them again. causing Lirum’s face to turn the same shade as their hair had. Before they could argue a figure stepped In between them.

“George let’s go, get a move on!” Percy said as the rest of the family poured out of the building.

“Goodbye! I love you! I’ll be home later!” Lirum waved and followed behind their savior.
they closed the door to the shop behind stepping out onto the street. And watched as Mrs Weasley took a head count of the children. Then paused and looked worried for a moment looking around. She then stopped took a breath and repeated the process.

“Mrs Weasley is everything alright?” Lirum asked as she began to look more frantic.

“You haven’t seen Harry have you?” Mrs. Weasley asked once They stepped out if the shop.

“No ma’am, actually shouldn’t he be with you? I thought the twins said he was?” Lirum said only to be met with Silence and awkward looks between them.

“Well, we traveled here by flu powder and it was his first time…I assumed he would be right behind us we where all in the shop.” Mrs Weasley said ringing her hands nervously.

“He knows we’re meant to go to Gringotts. Surly he can find his way to the giant marble building.” Mr. Weasley said gesturing toward the bank.

Mrs. Weasley ushered the group toward the bank. Checking every window as they ran past to see if he’s ended up a few shops down. But he was no where to be found. Until they began to approach the bank.

Surrounded by the sea of traffic in and out of the bank stood a trio of brunettes. Harry, Hermione, and Hagrid. Hagrid gestured toward the approaching gaggle of Gingers causing both Harry and Hermione to cheer.

“Harry! We hoped you’d only gone one grate to far.” Mr Weasley called wiping himself free of sweat. “She’s coming now!”

“Where did you come out?” Ron asked.

“Nocturne alley,” Hagrid said grimly

“Excellent!” Cheered Fred and George behind them.

“We’ve never been allowed in!” Ron said enviously

“I should very well think not.” Growled Hagrid.

“Oh Harry! Oh my dear! You could have been anywhere!” Mrs Weasley said.

She had finally caught up after checking every store on the way here. Ginny trailing behind her. She pulled out a large brush and started sweeping the soot that remained from flu powered travel off Harry. While Mr. Weasley took off Harry’s glasses witch had seemed to have broken at some point and fixed them before giving them back.

“Well I gotta be off.” Hagrid said, having his hand rung out by Mrs. Weasley.

“Nocturne alley if you haven’t found him Hagrid-“ Mrs Weasley started getting cut off.

“See you at Hogwarts.” Said Hagrid walking away.

As they turned to climb the stairs of the bank they felt a presence on either side.

“So, I heard you’re giving us your prized collection of Lockhart books.” Fred said wrapping an arm over Lirum’s shoulder. As the entered the bank.

“Come on Fred. Can’t you see you’re making your little bunny nervous.” George teased wrapping an arm around them from the other side earning a scoff from Percy. Walking in time with the others as they boarded the small goblin operated cart.

Fine I’ll give them to you if you’ll just drop the subject.-and don’t tell anyone about the drawings.” Lirum said as the cart flew at a breakneck pace down the track.

“Ok we swear not to tell anyone about your little doodles.” Fred said.

“But I can’t do anything for your cute little notes, Thumper.” George teased, earning himself with an elbow to the gut. As Mrs. Weasley got out of the cart and entered the family vault.

“Would you two stop that! Whatever it is your doing! They’re clearly uncomfortable!” Percy snapped at his brothers looking like he was ready to push them off the cart. “And keep your hands to yourselves before I have to separate you!” Percy said with a huff

“What are you two doing back there to rile him up?” Mrs. Weasley said. On her way back from the Weasley vault.

“Nothing, mum.” The twins said in unison as the cart Started moving once more.
As the cart slowed to a halt once more Harry got out. Making his way quickly into the vault. Coming back out with a very heavy looking leather bag full of coins. Fred leaned in near Lirum’s ear and whispered.

“There wouldn’t happen to be any doodles of me in there, would there precious?” Causing lirum feel as if they were glowing a bright pink.

“That’s it you two! Move!”percy said standing up in the still stopped cart pulling lirum from between the twins and setting them back on his other side. “I will sit through no more of this harassment! Lirum, you tolerate too much of their ghastly behavior. I told you before that if someone's making you uncomfortable I need you to tell me. Do you understand.” Percy said looking red in the face.

“I understand. Sorry, it’s just the twins-“ Lirum started getting cut off my a menacing glare from Percy.

“I know I might not have left the best impression last year with me not believing you or not listening but it won’t happen again. I don’t care who it is even my brothers.” Percy said seriously. As the cart begin to roll back to the lobby of the bank.

“Perce, it’s really not a big deal I don’t mind. Their just a bit much sometimes.” Lirum said trying to calm him.

“You heard them perfect percy. So shove off.” Fred said as the cart came to a stop.

“Well, at any rate. I’m going to go shopping after this I need a new quill as well as some ink and parchment so if you won’t mind excusing me. I’d hope to have my friend accompany me.” Percy snapped at his brother.

“My god they haven’t stopped all summer Love.” George joked As he begin to helped Lirum out of the cart he pulled them close and whispered. “Just know, regardless of who you pick I’ll be by your side. Even if the others resent me for it.”

“What are you on about now, Little Boy?” Lirum asked

“Wouldn’t be much of a secret if I told you now, would it Love?” George said. Before noticing his friend Lee Jordan outside the bank.

“Well who are you going with Lirum?” Percy asked red in the face, snapping lirum back towards him and Fred.

“Well I did agree to come with you today didn’t I Percy. Wouldn't it be fair to leave you now would it?” Lirum said, walking towards the pair.

“But Lirum-“ Fred started.

“Lee and George are both waiting for you anyway it wouldn’t be fair to leave Percy by himself.” Lirum said earning a huff from Fred and a triumphant smirk from Percy.

“We have to meet back at Flourish and Blotts in an hour. So, let’s get a move on shall we.” Percy said gesturing toward the junk shop, a well known second hand shop.

“Actually I was hoping we could stop by Amanuensis Quills to get my stationary for the year. You said you needed Ink and a new quill as well, yes?” Lirum asked, looking at Percy who turned a little pale.

“We can get your things there, but I’d best stick to the junk shop.” Percy said, taking off his already spotless glasses to clean them.

“Hey let’s go perce.” Lirum said, dragging him towards the shop.
