Chapter 2
"So this boy... Is Albedo?" Gwen gasped, turning to the small child who was currently absorbed in a Pokemon Marathon. "Or more, has Albedo... In his Omnitrix... Which re-calibrated... To save him?"
"That's the short end of it." I nodded, allowing her to take a blood sample. "Hey Omnirtix, is there any scaring where you jabbed me?"
"Small mark left from re-calibration of DNA."
"That couldn't have been pleasant." Gwen shuddered. "Seems risky."
"The kid was dying, and I wasn't about to stop that particular plan."
"It still required trusting Albedo." Kevin crosses his arms, leaning against the door frame. "That seems risky."
"For the time being were trusting him." I let out a soft sigh as Gwen puts the small device down, before heading up to her boy friend. She's my cousin, and we've actually grown rather close over the past two years of hero work. She's taller than me, smarter, and could easily take me down no powers used. She's slim, but well enough built from a combination of Ty-quan-do, Karate, and general Mixed Martial arts. If magic was thrown into the mix she would kick my ass for sure, even without going full annodite on me.
She's a bit fairer skinned than me, though we are both in the olive range, with her cheeks being heavily flecked with freckles. Where my short, only lightly disheveled hair was chocolate; her long- mid back when down- hair was a bright copper. Our eyes were both lime, though again hers were a bit brighter.
Then there is Kevin. He's the biggest out of the three of us, though admittedly not by too much. He's tall, and a stronger build, but really Gwen's not that much taller than him. he had pale skin, a bit milky, and angular black eyes. His hair is also black, though not as 'true obsidian' as Harry's was. Sleek and neat.
"I know Kevin, but... it was bad... it was bad enough that Albedo did a good thing." I let out a heavy sigh, glancing over at the recovering child. He's brilliant, but still small. He's always going to be a little too lanky for my comfort, and if he breaks 5'0" that would be a miracle. He's physically stunted, and there is a part of me that worried how it will effect his transformations.
But still, his sandy brown skin has regained a slight rosiness to it, he's put on a healthy amount of weight; though he is on the slim side, and his hair has gained such a sheen to it it reflected light somewhat like a gemstone, gaining a slight red hue at certain angles. Of course his snow white bangs come from Albedo, but his eyes. They are such a pure and brilliant emerald green; my genuine favorite color in existence, that I found myself fascinated with.
"I was informed however." He nods. "That could not have been easy to see."
"It wasn't." I admit, rubbing my neck. "But he's safe now. And I wont let anything happen to him."
"O Negative."
"Hm?" I turn to Gwen as she levitates the machine to herself, nuzzling against her partner.
"Your blood type, it's O Negative. Actually more common, and..." She hums scanning the page. "You said it informed you that the blood type wasn't compatible?"
"Yeah, why?"
"Omnirtix, what was Ben Tennyson's original blood type?"
"AB Positive, current blood type AB Positive."
"So where was the compatibility issue?"
"Compatibility error caused by unknown soul shard, compatibility repaired."
"Alright, that's good. It's a good blood type to have too, so it's a bit of a win win really."
"Why?" Kevin asks.
"Because it's a universal donor, though only other people with O Neg can receive his type; none of the other types, and he can only receive O neg. AB Positive; which he used to have, is the universal receiver." She smiled, ruffling my hair. "So that's good at least."
"So what aliens dose he have?" Kevin smirked.
"It's up to them on names but; and I only do this because I'm still really bad at pronouncing species; Albedo, Cannonbolt, Rip Jaws, Wildmutt, Heatblast, Four Arms, Diamond Head, XLR8, Upgrade, and Stinkfly. The OG 10, with Ghost Freak being replaced since I was not about to risk that one. Even with it not being Z'scar I just didn't want to chance it."
"Fair enough." Kevin says, finally making his way to the table, sitting. As Gewn sits next to him Mom and Dad head in.
"Still its a little odd being grandparents so soon."
"Not yer first."
"What!?" They both falter and I glare at Kevin.
"There not... That much mine. There Chill's and it was asexual reproduction."
"Where are they?" Mum asked, and I feel both my heart and Chill's break a little. "Ben?"
"Who knows." Kevin says, though there is sympathy in his voice. "They couldn't stay, they ear solar energy, and they had a larger clutch. Fourteen eggs, all hatched and out in the cosmos. They'll stay together of course, and who knows where they end up. Of course they are safe. Due to their type the Plumbers are keeping track of them actually, we probably could find them but it's maybe best we don't. Nature and all that."
"That's good at least." Dad hands us each a sand-witch. "And the white is from what happened with Albedo?"
"Yup." I nod. "Thanks by the way, for agreeing to this."
"Since your grandfather agreed he would handle the legality through the plumbers, it's not too much trouble."
As I start eating there is a knock at the door, and a slight chill goes down my spine. dad don't miss it as he quirks an eyebrow as he starts for the door.
"Chill's hovering, they sense something." I explain. "Very paternal/ Maternal. But also has anxiety so-" I move my hands to mimic a scale. "Take that as you will."
"Right." he nodded, eyes narrowing as the knock comes again. "I'm coming!"
Its not to long before he opens the door, and while he's blocking it I can feel my skin bristling. My hand instinctively going to my watch; though if it's my instincts or Chill's I can't entirely tell.
"He's under our care now sir, if you have a problem with that I suggest you take it up with the Plumbers." Dad's also starting to get frustrated. As I go to stand Gwen stops me, and Kevin stops her, heading to the door, absorbing the surprisingly strong metal of the coat rack.
"Alright buddy, look." His voice is cold, ans sharp. "We don't want trouble, you don't want trouble. So why not just leave and let the plumbers handle this situation?"
"I'm simply here to return Mr. Potter to his family." The man's voice is old, kind sounding as I head towards the door. "He went missing a few weeks ago."
"Yeah, and he was found half dead. Your lucky he's even alive old man."
"An unfortunate situation however-"
"Let me handle this." I place a hand on Kevin's shoulder, quickly taking his place at the door. The man who stands on our step is old, with pale skin, and sparkling blue eyes behind half moon glasses. He's dressed rather odd, in purple robes and a pointed hair, both decorated with golden stars, and his long white hair and beard are tucked into his belt. "Alright, what is going on? Who are you?"
"I am Albus Dumbledore, headmaster of Hogwarts School of-"
"Witchcraft and Wizardry, Gwen's mentioned it." I nodded, "Also your laws about informing 'muggles and nomaji' of such things. I suppose a Plumber family is something of an exception."
"Indeed my boy, you must be Benjamin Tennyson."
"I am, Earth's Hero and the wielder of the Omnitrix. That-" I nod to Kevin. "-Is my second in command Kevin Levin, and my cousin and the... let's be real brains of the group is in the dinning room." I nod, annoyance in my chest. "And Kevin's right, the boy was half dead. But funny thing is, it was my DNA that saved him. Biologically, he's my son now."
"Well you are rather young to be a parent."
"I'm young but I have my family to help, and I'll should inform you we know about what the boy was carrying so to speak."
"Oh?"
"In his scar." I glared. "Yeah, it's gone now, the watch got rid of it."
"Good, good." He nods. "He would still be safer with his biological family, they're worried quite a bit about him."
"I doubt that, and we've been over this. I am biologically his family now." I crossed my arms. "So if you must fight; which I would advise against, I would suggest taking your concerns to the Plumbers."
"Are you not Plumbers?"
"Do not test me old man."
"What would you go against magic, I wonder."
"Chromastone, Diamond Head, Feedback, Ghost Freak for sure." I nod. "I have my defenses. I hope I don't have to show you."
"I suppose not." He shook his head. "I'll be seeing you around Tennyson."
"I suppose we will." As he leaves I close the door, stretching my shoulders. Chill was basically in control at that point, and they had been almost impossibly tense. Now my shoulders were, quite a bit down my back.
"Who was that?" Harry rushes up with a smile, rocking on his feet. "What did he want?"
"He was just making sure you were safe." I smiled softly. "But he's pushing a bit too hard, and you're not going to go back to the people that hurt you."
"Why would I?"
"Harry... I do have to ask, who did it?"
"My Uncle, he would do it all the time." Harry nods, "Though I don't really remember much, just that he was really angry with me."
"Well, I'm going to make sure that he can never hurt you again, alright?"
"Okay." Harry beams, wrapping his arms around my stomach and gently nuzzling against me. "So... Are you my daddy now?"
"I- I would rather you didn't call me that, but kind of."
"Huh?"
"It's nothing you really need to worry about, but I wouldn't mind I think just about any other name." I rub my neck.
"What about Poppa?"
"Alright kiddo, you can call me Poppa. Now when your a bit better were going to start getting you into shape. Nothing extensive, just a little exercise alright?"
"Okay."
"And hay, that means we get to hang out, and go to the park even. Like I said, I don't want to do anything excessive, but it is good to take care of yourself."
"Of course Poppa!"
"Now come on, let's finish our lunch." Smiling I lead harry back into the dining room, a sense of pride washing over me as Dad gets him some food. Of course were going to have to get his uncle somehow but I know that things are going to get better.
