Chapter 3
The bar Bonnie worked in was pretty well known in New York. And even though she worked at The Covens Brew for only a month, she had gotten pretty good at her job. The Brew was run by the New York coven, which resulted in the workers being more like a community than just a bunch of coworkers.
This had its own advantage, that was, a sense of safety. If any customer made anyone uncomfortable then one of the other workers would always jump in and lead them away from that situation, and the customer was dealt with. Everyone had each other’s back.
There was also another advantage, the parties. People from the Brew were usually hired to help in parties, and most of these parties had at least one famous person. But, even if there isn’t one, the people are rich enough to leave a big tip. And the parties itself are really fun to attend.
In the one month that Bonnie had worked there, they never sent her to these parties. But that changed today.
The entire place was in chaos. From what she heard, they were hired for an event. But that didn’t explain the chaos. They were hired very frequently, by many people, so why were they acting like this now? And then Alec, a high ranking member of the coven and a pretty close friend of hers, handed her a uniform and told her to get ready to leave.
“Ok, what’s going on?” She asked
“We were hired for a a party. Why else would I ask you to get ready?”
“And here I thought you were asking me out.” She replied, with her hand over her heart and a dramatic sad face.
“Don’t flatter yourself Bennett. But in all seriousness, why are you so surprised ?”
“Because, Anne told me that I won’t be going to events anytime soon. And then you just asked me to get ready for the party. Why?” Anne was the leader of the coven and the owner of the bar. She was strict, and a little scary, but she cared deeply about the members of her coven and would treat them like her children.
“This is a big event. We need all hands on deck, and since you work here, you also need to put your hands on the deck.”
“But we have had big events before. I wasn’t needed then. And also why is everyone in panic? It’s just another party.”
“Well it isn’t ‘just another party’. You know Tony stark right?” He asked her, but before she could reply, he continued, “Of course you do. Everybody does. Anyway, every year he hosts the biggest party of the year. And he hires us every time. Now, the elders don’t particularly like him, but he pays good, so things need to be perfect. And as to why they are panicking, well he kinda called us very late. As in today morning. If it was anyone else, they would have declined, but since its him, they are trying their best to make it work.”
“So my first ever event is going to be the biggest one in the year. I’m definitely not nervous. But, let’s say, hypothetically, if I mess up, what happens?”
“Well, hypothetically, nothing. Because we love you. Worst case scenario, you get fired. And don’t worry, you’ll work at the bar with me. I’m going to guide every step of the way. I’ll make sure you don’t embarrass yourself princess.”
“Oh, my hero, what would I ever do without you.” She says dramatically with her hand on her heart.
“Guess we’ll never know. Now, please go and get ready. Preferably, before Anne kills me.”
“I’ll get right to it.” And with that she left to get dressed.

True to his words, Alec helped Bonnie at the bar. It wasn’t very different from working at the Brew. Just that the crowd was bigger, and the place was really fancy. But once she got a hang of it, there was no stopping her.
Another difference, she noticed, was that, here, no one really talked to the bartender or even paid attention to them. At the Brew the people would not stop talking to them, they would tell them their life stories, which were always nice to listen to.
“You are a quick learner.” He said, sounding impressed.
She genuinely replied,“I had a good teacher.”
And that’s how most of their shift went — talking, teasing and flirting.
Fifteen minutes before their shift ended, Tony Stark came to the bar.
“Well hello there beautiful. What’s your name? And why have I never seen you before? “ he asked Bonnie.
Trying really hard to keep her cool, she replied,”My name is Bonnie. And I’m new to The Covens Brew. And even if you had seen me before, you wouldn’t remember me.”
“Well, Bonnie, you should know that I don’t forget a pretty face. Ever.”
She ignored his obvious flirting and tried to stay professional. “Can I get you something, Mr.Stark?” This earned her a glare from Alec.
“Please, call me Tony. Well I don’t need a drink, but you can tell me when your shift ends.”
But before she could reply, Alec chimed in.
“Now, her shift ends now.”
Bonnie looked at him with a questioning look, but he just smiled back at her. She looked back at Tony.
“Tony, please excuse us for a minute.”
“Take your time Beautiful.” He said with a wink.
Bonnie dragged Alec to the other end of the bar by his arm, and ‘gently’ smacked his chest.
“Ow Bennett, that hurt.” He rubbed his chest.
“Good. What are you doing?”
“Me? What are you doing? Tony Stark, the Tony Stark is flirting with you, and you are ignoring him. What is wrong with you?”
“I’m not ignoring him. I’m trying to be professional.”
“Come on Bonnie, Have I taught you nothing? You and me both know that this won’t mean anything. So have a little fun. And don’t worry I can take care of the bar alone for ten minutes.”
“Fine.”
They go back to the place where Tony was sitting. And to Bonnie’s surprise he was still there.
“She is all yours mr. Stark.”

Till the end of the party Bonnie and Tony stayed together. By the end of the party they were both drunk.
They were both soon alone in a room, making out intensely. And then one thing lead to the other.
Till they both fell asleep.

The next morning, the first thing that Bonnie realised was that she wasn’t in her room and she panicked.
Her panic rose when she realised she wasn’t alone. And it rose even more when she realised that they were both naked. She quickly got up, got dressed and left.
On her way home, she checked her phone for messages. And saw many from Alec. She quickly replied that she was ok and was going home.
She got home and was glad that her roommates weren’t home. She sat on her bed and let the reality of what happened sink in. She slept with Tony Stark. She picked up her pillow and screamed into it. God, Alec is never going to let this go. And her thought was confirmed when she received a text from him.
‘Was he good?’
She ignored the message and contemplated every decision she has ever made in her life.

One week later, Bonnie realised something terrifying. She was late. So she did something anyone rational would do, and got a pregnancy test. And when she got the result, she did something no sane human would do. She called Alec.
“If you have already taken a test, then why am I here?”
“Because I need a trusted confirmation. You are practically the second in command of the coven, you are really good with this kind of magic and you are one of my closest friends. So will you please just perform the spell.” He could hear the desperation in her voice.
So he performed the spell. And the next words that came out of his, filled her eyes with tears.
“You, Bonnie Bennett, are pregnant.”
