In every great story
There lies a reflection
Of the true story:
Heroes, redemption,
Death and resurrection.
A noble Captain chose
To crash his plane in ice;
His life for the world’s.
Yet his end is happy,
Despite great sacrifice.
A young Chosen One
Surrendered his life,
Breaking evil’s hold.
Then love undid death;
Light triumphed over strife.
An old wizard stood alone,
Defying the monster,
Shielding his friends.
He fell, yet he rose
To lead good to conquer.
A great Lion gave himself
The traitor to die for.
Ancient law at work;
Dawn brought life with it.
He rose to reign evermore.
All a reflection of
The truth: the Son who died
The lost world to save.
The happy ending:
Fresh life at Eastertide.
