If we have to work together, you’ll do as I say
This insufferable situation was all that prat’s fault. All month she had pushed for updates on her request for team members and now it was too late. The time left to hire, train, and make progress on her proposal had shrunk to an impossible week and only two people now possessed the skillset to get everything finished in time for the scheduled presentation. She wouldn’t put it past Draco Malfoy to have procrastinated on purpose just to drive her crazy, though that would imply wanting to torture himself since he was one of the aforementioned two. The other person was, of course, herself.
“We need to schedule time together as soon as possible to go over our information and see what’s already covered.” Was he even looking at her? She stared at him across her desk, but he seemed more interested in appraising his perfectly manicured nails than in addressing this dire situation. “Malfoy. Did you hear me? When are you free?”
“7:00 PM, tonight. Umisake.” He finally looked up at her, lips quirking to one side. He stood up in one, smooth motion and turned to leave without waiting for a reply.
“Umisake? Isn’t that a Japanese restaurant? Malfoy, we need some place professional where we can spread out paperwork and take notes and–“
“If we have to work together, you’ll do as I say. And wear that delightful little turquoise dress of yours. I have just the outfit to match I’ve been meaning to wear.”
And then he was out the door and gone.
