The boys bake cookies

It was a beautiful Saturday morning in Hogwarts, and
James Potter was feeling particularly excited about the day ahead. He had called the rest of the Marauders to meet up in the Gryffindor common room. Upon their arrival, James had arranged for everyone to participate in a special task he had envisioned.

Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew had no idea what theirfriend had planned, but they were excited nonetheless.

"Alright, lads," James began as everyone settled in on the sofas and armchairs. "I was thinking we could do something for Poppy and Minnie. They're always takingcare of us, but we never really show our appreciation. So, I thought we could bake them some cookies."

Sirius grinned. "I like where this is going."

Remus raised an eyebrow skeptically. "But James, none ofus have ever baked before."

Peter nodded in agreement. "What if we mess it up?"
James waved a hand dismissively. "Nonsense. I've got it all under control." He pulled out a large recipe book from his bag and flipped through the pages. "We'll just follow these instructions, and it'll be a piece of cake--er, cookie."

They all laughed and James began assigning tasks.
"Sirius, you're on measuring duty. Remus, you'll mix theingredients. Peter, you can help with the dough. And I'll be in charge of baking them."

The others nodded in agreement, and they set to work. It was a messy process, with flour and sugar flying everywhere, but they were having fun.

"Hey, what if we add some chocolate chips to the mix?" suggested Sirius as he measured out the flour.

"Good idea!" said Remus as he stirred the mixture.

Peter rolled out the dough and cut out the cookies into little star shapes with a cookie cutter.

As they put the cookies in the oven, James set the timerand they all settled down to wait. After a few minutes, they could smell the warm, sweet aroma of the cookies baking in the oven. Their mouths began to water and they eagerly waited for the timer to go
off.

When the timer finally buzzed, James opened the oven and pulled out the tray of freshly-baked cookies. They were golden brown, crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. Perfect. And they smelled heavenly.

"Minnie and Poppy are gonna love these," said James as he admired their handiwork.

Sirius grinned. "I'm sure they'll love them even more if we serve them with a glass of warm milk."

Remus chuckled. "I think we're getting ahead of ourselves. Let's just focus on getting these to them first."

They carefully placed the cookies in a box and headed out of the common room. As they walked through the corridors, they could see the dark sky through the windows. The castle was quiet, and there was a peacefulness in the air.

Finally, they arrived at the Hospital Wing, where they knew Poppy was working. They knocked on the door, and she answered with a warm smile.

"Hello, boys! What brings you here this late?"

"We, uh, made you some cookies," said James, holding out the box.

They turned and also saw Minnie standing with the nurse.

"Hey, Minnie, we made you some cookies," said Sirius,
holding out the box. Minnie looked up from her paperwork and beamed at them.

"Oh, my goodness, how sweet of you! I was just thinking about taking a break. This is perfect timing."

They all sat down around her desk and chatted for a while, munching on the cookies and sipping on tea. The cookies had turned out to be delicious, and everyone was enjoying them.
"I have to say, these cookies are amazing," said Minnie, taking another bite.

James grinned. "Thanks! We all pitched in to make them."

Minnie smiled at them. "You boys are always surprising me. I never know what to expect from you."

Sirius laughed. "That's the point, Minnie!"

They spent a while longer chatting about school and their plans for the future. It was a nice break from the stress of their studies, and it felt good to be able to do something kind for Poppy and Minnie.

As they said their goodbyes and headed back to the
Gryffindor common room, the Marauders felt happy and content. They had shown their appreciation to two very important people in their lives and had shared a moment of camaraderie as friends. It was a reminder that sometimes, the smallest gestures can make the biggest impact.
