My Thoughts on Injustice
1. Superman is in no place to blame Batman for letting the Joker live.
I do know that all of the tragedies in Injustice might had been avoided if Batman just killed the Joker, unless the Joker had a Joker toxin which could had turned Batman into Batman Who Laughs like in the dark multiverse (They will be in the ICU, but much much later). However, Superman was in no place to blame Batman, because he too shared the belief of no killing and wanted all the leaguers to stand by the code as much as possible. Superman shouldn’t had blamed Batman for having a moral code (no killing) which Superman himself had installed upon most of the leaguers.
2. Injustice is the fault of the Joker, Batman, and Wonder Woman combined.
The entire event of Injustice began with the Joker making Superman kill Lois, their unborn child, and his city Metropolis. However, Joker alone did not cause Injustice. Killing the Joker did not cause Superman to go mad. Batman had not console Superman for his loss as a friend and treated him as a potential threat instead, breaking Superman’s trust on him. Batman broke the man of steel into loneliness. Wonder Woman has also caused this by encouraging Superman to be more violent. Without Batman’s console, Superman was bound to become a madman due to his loss caused by Joker and the encouragement from Wonder Woman. Batman also deserved the fate of being brainwashed by Superman and getting his humanity taken from him, because he was responsible for Superman losing his humanity.
3. Harley Quinn should had ‘died’ at some point.
It is true that Injustice depicts the redemption of Harley. However, even if she had become good, there is no denying she had helped the Joker’s plan on Superman and helped him kill Lois and Metropolis. It is also Batman’s team who accepted her, because Green Arrow and Black Canary helped her escape Superman and the punishment she deserved. She never truly made up for her past crimes. Therefore, if Harley was truly redeemed, she should had died as a proof of her redemption, as well as getting the fate she deserved. For example, I would had preferred her dying in Injustice Gods Among Us year five in the final battle between the insurgency and the regime, where the regime was destroying Gotham and Metropolis. Therefore, Wonder Woman is sadly right about Harley deserving death. She should had died at the hand of Wonder Woman. It would had been a better way for Supergirl to discover the truth about the regime by her death. That is why I had Harley killed off in ‘Injustice the El Dynasty’ along with her family, because that was what the fiend really deserved.
4. The death of Dick Grayson is entirely Damian Wayne’s fault.
Damian Wayne claims the death of Dick Grayson by getting hit by Damian’s stick as an accident, because Dick always caught Damian throwing stick at Dick. However, Dick’s attention was totally on the villains rampaging in Arkham Asylum because Harley broke them out. There was no way Dick had attention on Damian, because he thought Damian would not attack him. Therefore, the death is Damian’s fault. It could also be said Harley also caused Dick’s death indirectly, all the more reason she should had ‘died’. This is why I depicted him as an irredeemable killer who killed Barbara Gordon because she blamed Damian for Dick’s death. Damian got what he deserved when Green Guardian killed him to avenge his friends and the people in Regime Timeline killed by Damian.
5. Green Arrow’s murder is justifiable, but still wrong.
Superman kills Green Arrow because the archer fired his allow at the Kryptonian, only to have it deflected and hit Superman’s human father, Jonathan Kent, allowing his rage decide his action. Even though many show dismay for Superman for this act, I still think this is justifiable. Not only Green Arrow hurt Superman’s father, he also helped Harley escape. It was a karma for Oliver. The same goes for Dinah as well, for accepting the fiend who helped Joker take everything from Superman. This is why I had them both killed in ‘Injustice the El Dynasty’, as well as their kid. However, Superman still did the wrong thing by killing Green Arrow, which was not listening to his parents’ plea to spare the archer.
6. Superman should had kept his yellow ring.
It was absurd for Superman not to keep his yellow lantern ring. If he had kept it, he could had beaten the other world’s Justice League with ease, even the other Superman. It would had also helped him capture Batman even sooner, ending the war before Superman went totally mad with power.
7. Someone should had at least plotted to resurrect Lois Lane.
There is no denying the death of Lois Lane started the entire event of Injustice. Therefore, the best plan was to bring Lois back from the dead. The world of Injustice still has Lazarus Pits, which can resurrect the dead like Jason Todd. Some third faction should had done at least plotted this to stop the war, by having Superman regain what he lost, calming him down a little bit even if the regime stayed.
8. Superman is not far too gone, until he kills Billy Batson. All other deaths caused by Superman at least have a good justification.
Every death by Superman is justifiable. Green Arrow, off course. Black Canary, off course. The Green Lantern Corps brought it on themselves by waging war on Superman who was trying to protect the Earth at the time. The Parademons and Kalibak, off course. Alfred and Batwoman maybe difficult, but they both didn’t console Superman like Batman and saw Clark the same way as Batman, a potential threat needed to be taken care of, just because Superman killed the Joker, who should had been killed years ago. Lex Luthor tried to shoot Superman with Kryptonite, so killing Lex was still a self defense. However, the death of Billy Batson, can never be justified. Billy only reasoned with Superman because the regime was going too far, and Superman killed Billy just for speaking out of turn, or the name Lois. Unlike those who deserved to die by Superman’s hand, Billy did not deserve it at all.
9. Superman needs to win in Injustice 2, and needs to win in the next game once again if it ever comes.
I know quite a lot of people prefer Batman ending of Injustice 2. However, I think Superman’s ending makes more sense. Batman, even with his contingency plan, needed another Superman to beat his world’s Superman. There was no way Batman could beat Superman by himself. Also, Batman winning means everything being back to normal, which is not the concept of Injustice. However, with Superman’s victory, the madness of Superman and Wonder Woman could be explored even more as well as Supergirl’s struggle to choose whether she should still see Kal as her family she needs to save or a monster which should be destroyed. In the ICU, she picked the latter, and failed, losing all her loved ones except Cassandra Sandsmark, which she can never reach until the last fic. This caused Kara to go down the same path as her cousin after Quan Chi, the loneliness and grief corrupts her to the point of willingly killing everyone who would stand in her path of supporting Shinnok’s victory, causing her to kill Batman (Continuity Timeline).
