"Draco! Go check if he's dead" Voldemort hissed. Draco stumbled across the Forbidden Forest towards Harry, his face the perfect Malfoy mask even though he was struggling not to reveal the pain he felt in his heart.

He held back as gasp as he felt for Harry's pulse. Nothing. His Mate- his perfect beautiful Mate was dead. He could not hold back from sheding a tear- just the one, falling down lightly onto Harry's cheek. He wished things had been different, his Mate was dead and he couldnt even kiss him goodbye- hell he'd never had a chance to kiss him at all "Te Amo" he whispered. His grief stricken mind was made up. He'd die for sure but he'd go down fighting for his Mate's cause.

Draco stood proud and tall "Dead!" he announced clearly. "NO!!" screamed Hagrid in tears from where he stood, bound in ropes by mocking Death Eaters.
Here was his chance! As Voldemort and the others continued to jeer at Hagrid and celebrate their victory, Draco called on his creature powers and summoned the Veela fire to his hands, shooting it towards the only thing Voldemort appeared to hold dear- his snake Nagini. The power burning through the Horcux and destroying her instantly.

Voldemort didn't stand a chance. The second Nagini was destroyed he fell to his knees in pain dropping the elder wand, which rolled towards Draco. The few of the Dark Lord's followers that had noticed turning to Voldemort in confusion. Harry stood up unoticed by all but Draco, rising like a phoenix from the ashes killing the Dark Lord instantly with a silent AK.

Draco had frozen the second his Mate had been resurrected. He knew he was dead before- he'd checked! Luckily for him Harry had rushed towards him, grabbing the elder wand as he went, and apparated to the Gates of Hogwarts where they walked together to where the teachers and students stood together awaiting the outcome of Harry's final battle, and seemingly praying he was still alive.

It took Draco calling out for them to notice their arrival "The Dark Lord is Dead!" He called, grinning like a madman. The cheers in responce were deafening. The Death Eaters were still in the Forest of course but without their leader the remaining Order and Aurors left immediately. They would be able to make quick work of many of the Dark side now the Death Eaters were thrown into dissaray.

Standing in the middle of those that stayed behind Harry turned towards Draco falling to his knees as he did so. "Potter!" Draco cried out reaching for him. "I'm not injured" Harry laughed, taking Draco's hands but not willing to stand. "Malfoy. You make me feel more alive then anyone else. I can't imagine life without you and need to lock this down before anyone else notices how fantastic your arse is. Marry me you git" he asked, offering Draco the Black family engagement ring he'd been holding onto since Grimmald Place.

Draco, whose eyes had been welling with tears at the proposal, snorted at the insult but grinned and nodded wordlessly pulling up his beloved Mate slamming him into his chest for a passionate kiss. A minute in Harry seemed to forget that there was students around as his hands began to wander groping the arse he'd recently praised, moaning as he did so.

Harry jumped a second later as something brushed his hand- reluctantly pulling himself away and opening his eyes he was shocked to discover Draco's wings. His Fiancée preened and trilled as Harry admired them, stroking his hands across the beautiful white and gold feathers. His obsession with the blonde beauty made more sense now that he knew Draco was a Veela. Far from being upset that fate was once again having a say in his life, Harry eyes welled up with Happiness. Veela's Mate for life and would accept nothing less then the most perfect person for them.

After years of abuse from the Dursleys and the War with Voldemort, Harry was finally looking forward to a Happy ending.
