Abandoned.
Himiko Toga was used to being abandoned, so she didn’t know why she had thought it would be different this time. Ochako was probably getting the heroes right now, no matter what she had promised. Feeling her feet pacing around the room, she worried her thumb as she debated running away before the heroes showed up.
No, she promised to trust Ochako, that she would wait. But she wasn’t coming back. Why wasn’t she coming back? She said she would be back, but it had been so long ago!
Abandoned.
Feeling her breath growing short, she went to the corner and slid down the wall as she tried to quiet the voice telling her to run. She wasn’t Toga anymore, she was Himiko. Himiko was a good girl, and would not leave after promising Ochako that she would stay.
“She lies to you. She is going to turn you into the heroes,” she mutters darkly, tears stinging her eyes as she looks around the room they were sharing. Why wouldn’t Ochako turn her in?
She was a monster after all, she wasn’t meant for nice people like Ochako. She should just be…
Abandoned.
She was covered in bloodstains that could never be cute, she could never be the pretty, happy girl that Ochako was. She was too evil, too dark and twisted. She could never truly love Ochako. She never loved Deku-kun, or Tsu, or any of those cute people that she thought she loved.
She was wrong, she deserved the heroes to come, to take her away from Ochako-chan and hide her light from Toga. Sniffling, she put her head on her knees and fought back the tears. She wouldn’t cry when Ochako came back with the heroes, she would leave with a smile, she wouldn’t let her see her crack and crumble.
She wouldn’t let her know how much it hurt to be-
Abandoned.
She heard the click of the door, and didn’t lift her head, she couldn’t let Ochako see her break because she was going to abandon her to the heroes, she couldn’t stand to let her see it. She could feel the hands on her shoulder, hear the hollow voices speaking her name, demanding she lift her head, probably so they could confirm it was her.
No, the hands slipped around her, hugging her, tugging her into a hug and soft kisses on her head. “Himiko? Are you okay? I’m sorry, Tsu wanted to ask me some questions, and I didn’t mean to take so long. Please? Look at me?”
Himiko lifted her head, and her eyes met the warm, earnest, caring eyes of Ochako, the woman she loved, and the doubts faded into the distance. And she knew. In that instant, she knew, she wasn’t going to be-
