White Dress

May 2001

Hermione woke up on a beautiful May morning. The warm sun was hitting her cheeks just right. Sending a warm sensation threw her body.

Over the past six months Hermione and Narcissa had been planning the wedding of the year. By the end of today Draco Malfoy would no longer be the most eligible bachelor in all of London. By sundown, he would be a married man.

Hermione put on her lilac silk robe, a gift that Draco had given her five years ago. She walked to her small balcony looking out to the Malfoy gardens. She could smell the different types of flowers coming from the garden below. Thank Merlin for Neville, who had been able to get her five different colors Lilies and everything else Narcissa had asked for.

A soft pop was heard in Hermione's bedroom, because of course she had her own bedroom in Malfoy Manor. A room that she was given by Narcissa, after she had gotten tired of seeing Hermione fall asleep in Draco's bedroom. Of course that did little to stop Hermione from falling asleep in Draco's room.

Diddy, Narcissa house elf poped in her room, a cup of Jasmine tea in hand. "Here is Miss Granger's tea. Diddy must go now. Lots to do in the kitchen today." Diddy said dressed in her little French maid outfit. Hermione had not liked the idea of the elves' uniforms for the wedding.

But when Draco had gotten the female house elves outfits to annoy Hermione, neither of them imagined that the Malfoy's house elves would love them. The male elves got butler outfits and begged Hermione to keep them. Hermione had agreed but had given Draco the silent treatment for the rest of the day. Until he won her over with a set of pistachios macaroons, imported from her favorite bakery in France.

A little bribery with sweets was all it took for Hermione to forgive him. Damn Draco Lucius Malfoy and his charm. Hermione loved him too much to stay mad at that beautiful man for too long.

Hermione smiled and nodded as Diddy left. With her warm tea in hand Hermione took out her wedding planner. Making sure everything was checked off her list and was ready for the big day ahead.

The flowers were delivered last night by Neville Longbottom. The lotus blossoms that were now swimming on the Malfoy pond looked wonderful last night. Hermione could only imagine how the white and pink flowers would look in the morning sun. Hermione made a small check in her planner.

The seven tower cake that was made by Molly Weasley. Currently sat in the kitchen on a cooling charm. The seven tiered cake was made out of carrot and banana, decorated with edible gold and white frosting. Checked.

The menu tasting was the only meeting Draco had been present for. He was constantly trying to steal the cake off from Hermione's plate. Despite Draco's love for the lemon flavored cake, Narcissa had out voted them. Claiming that the carrot and banana cake would be the most healthy.

Draco and Hermione had given up trying to sway Narcissa and had run away with the vanilla and lemon cake in hand. Leaving Narcissa to pick out the soup all by herself. While they laughed in Draco's room feeding each other cake, and joking about how everything was going on so fast.

"I am just happy you're here. To stop my mother from inviting the muggle queen." Draco had told Hermione, as she rested her head on his shoulder and he kissed her head.

The elves were already busy in the kitchen, preparing the five course dinner for the wedding reception that was later that night. Narcissa had been very strict on the menu for the wedding, wanting it to be as posh and elegant as a Malfoy dinner should be.

The wedding dress was delivered by Pansy Parkinson, steamed and ready for the bride. Hermione had almost cried when Pansy showed her the finished product. Pansy's boss had outdone herself once again.

Narcissa had wished Pansy was the one to design the wedding dress, but Pansy had declined stating "I am not making a wedding dress in less than six months. Not with how particular Narcissa Malfoy is."

Instead a group of five designers made the dress to the bride's specific wishes. It took them five months and two weeks. For the next Malfoy wedding dress to be ready. It had almost driven Hermione crazy waiting, but she had finally been able to check it off from her planner two weeks ago.

The only thing that was next on the list. Was for hair and makeup to be done. Narcissa had hired Lavender Brown and the Patil twins. The three Gryffindors and their team were in charge of getting the bridal party ready and the bride of course.

Lastly Hermione made sure the ballroom floors were polished and ready for the guests to dance. The patio doors were open framed by tall white pillars topped with large flowing flower arrangements leading into the gardens where the four hundred chairs were placed evenly. The altar was covered with delicate pink orchids.

The musicians were at the Malfoy gardens. Setting up making sure their chairs didn't move and that their music sheets were ready to go. Tuning their instruments to perfection. Hermione smiled to herself. Everything was turning out just as planned.

"Hermione dear, everything is ready. Come on, we must get ready." Narcissa's soft voice said from behind her. Hermione turned around and smiled.

"I know Narcissa but I just want to make sure. Everything is perfect. Draco deserves a perfect wedding." Hermione comments. Taking one last look around the gardens.

Narcissa only hugged the young witch tight. In the last seven years Hermione Granger had become like a daughter to Narcissa. Earning not only the respect but the love of the Malfoy head.

"We have made sure. The wedding is perfect. Of course, if Draco was in charge. We would be having this wedding in the three broomsticks or worst. In a quidditch stadium." Narcissa says jokingly.

Hermione giggles and noded. "Well, thankfully he had us to make sure that didn't happen." Hermione says back with a smile. They both turned back inside the manor to get ready for the big day.

Although it was May, Lavender had managed to tame Hermione wild curls in to a tight chiffon at the base of her neck. She had gotten the inspiration from Hermione's hairstyle from the Yule Ball.

Where Hermione had started the night with Viktor Krum but ended it with Draco. The young Bulgarian man had left her for another girl midway through the ball. The last song Hermione danced to was with Draco. He had held her tight and let her cry on his chest. All the while telling her. How amazing she was and what a fool Krum was. For picking another witch over her.

The dress was hugging Hermione's body in the most perfect way. It was modest but elegant. Her makeup was light and simple. As Hermione was not used to wearing makeup and didn't care much for it. With one final look in the mirror. Hermione smiled and walked towards the garden. Hundreds of witches and wizards were already gathered and ready to see the wedding of the year.

Narcissa was already in her seat. Gazing at her son as he stood at the end of the aisle. Draco was so handsome in his wedding robes. He was shaking with laughter and rolling his eyes at something Theo Nott was telling him.

Hermione's smile was huge. She was staring at Draco. As if he was a Greek God. But of course that train of thought stopped. When she turned around because someone tapped her on the shoulder. "Its time Miss. Granger." a young witch said. Hermione nodded and moved away from the curtains.

A beautiful blonde witch with a pregnant belly started to walk pass her. The bride was ready to walk down the aisle and marry Draco Malfoy.

All Hermione could do was smile and push back the tears that were dangerously close to coming out. She wasn't ready to watch another woman marry the love of her life.

Today Draco Lucius Malfoy was getting married but it was not to Hermione Jean Granger
