The Portkey
The next day, as Ambrosius was walking to his Transfiguration class, he noticed a small envelope lying on the ground. As he picked it up, he realized it was addressed to him. He opened the envelope and found a note inside.
"Meet me at the Forbidden Forest at midnight. Come alone. - Anonymous"
Ambrosius frowned. Who could have sent him this note? And why did they want him to go to the Forbidden Forest alone? He decided to ask his friends for advice, but when he arrived at the Transfiguration classroom, he found that they were already inside.
As he sat down next to Hermione, he whispered, "Hey, can I talk to you guys after class? I got a strange note and I don't know what to do about it."
Hermione looked concerned. "Of course, we'll help you figure it out. Just be careful, Ambrosius. The Forbidden Forest can be dangerous."
Ambrosius nodded and focused on the lesson. But his mind kept wandering to the mysterious note. Who had sent it? And what did they want from him?
As class ended, he quickly packed his bag and followed his friends out of the classroom. They all gathered in an empty hallway, and Ambrosius showed them the note.
"Wow, this is really weird," Fred said, scratching his head.
"Maybe it's a prank?" George suggested.
"But what if it's not?" Ginny asked.
Hermione spoke up. "I think we should tell Professor Dumbledore. He'll know what to do."
They all nodded in agreement, and Ambrosius went to find the Headmaster. After explaining the situation to him, Dumbledore promised to investigate the matter and instructed Ambrosius to stay in the castle for the rest of the day.
As night fell, Ambrosius couldn't help but feel restless. He wanted to know who had sent him the note and what they wanted. But he knew that he had to follow Dumbledore's orders and stay inside.
But then, just as he was about to go to bed, he heard a faint noise outside his window. He opened it and found a small object lying on the windowsill. As he picked it up, he realized it was a portkey - a magical object used for transportation.
Without thinking, he grabbed the portkey and was instantly transported to the Forbidden Forest. He landed hard on the ground and looked around, trying to make out his surroundings in the darkness.
Suddenly, he heard footsteps approaching him. He drew his wand and prepared for the worst. But as the figure emerged from the shadows, Ambrosius couldn't believe his eyes.
It was his mother.
His mother who has been dead since the day he was born was standing in front of him. Her eyes were filled with warmth, as soon as their eyes met, she smiled so brightly and he could see why his dad fell in love with her.
"Hello, my sweet boy," she said, her voice soft and gentle.
Ambrosius was speechless. He couldn't believe that his mother was actually standing in front of him. He felt a mix of emotions - happiness, confusion, and fear.
"How is this possible?" he finally managed to ask.
His mother took a step closer to him and placed her hand on his cheek. "There is much I need to tell you, my love. But first, we must leave this place. It's not safe here."
Ambrosius nodded, still in shock, and followed his mother through the Forbidden Forest. As they walked, she explained to him that she had discovered a way to come back to the living world, but only for a short time. She had come to warn him about a great danger that was coming.
"What danger?" Ambrosius asked, feeling a knot form in his stomach.
His mother's expression turned grave. "I cannot say, but you must be careful, my love. You have a great destiny ahead of you, and there are those who would do anything to stop you from fulfilling it."
Ambrosius felt a sense of responsibility and determination wash over him. He knew that he had to protect himself and those he cared about.
As they reached the edge of the Forbidden Forest, his mother turned to him and smiled. "Remember, my love, I will always be with you, even if you cannot see me."
And with that, she disappeared into the night.
Ambrosius stood there for a moment, still trying to process what had just happened. But he knew that he had to return to the castle and tell Dumbledore everything. He pulled out his wand and used the spell to transport himself back.
When he arrived at Hogwarts, he went straight to Dumbledore's office and told him everything that had happened. Dumbledore listened carefully, and when Ambrosius had finished, he looked at him with a sense of understanding.
"I believe your mother was right, Ambrosius. There is a great danger coming, and you are the only one who can stop it. But you must be careful. You are not alone in this fight."
Ambrosius nodded, feeling a sense of purpose and determination. He knew that he had to be strong and brave in the face of this danger. And he knew that his mother would be with him every step of the way.
Dumbledore gave Ambrosius a reassuring smile before dismissing him for the night. As Ambrosius walked back to his dormitory, he couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions - fear, excitement, and determination.
He knew that he had a great destiny ahead of him, but he also knew that it would not be an easy path. He would need the help of his friends, and the guidance of Dumbledore, if he was to succeed.
As he entered the Gryffindor common room, he saw his friends waiting for him. They all looked at him with concern, and Ron spoke up. "What happened? Are you okay?"
Ambrosius took a deep breath before telling them everything that had happened. He told them about the mysterious note, the portkey, and his encounter with his mother. They listened in awe and disbelief, but as he finished, they all nodded in understanding.
"We'll help you, Ambrosius," Hermione said, her voice firm. "Whatever it takes."
Ambrosius felt a sense of gratitude and comfort wash over him. He knew that he could count on his friends to be there for him, no matter what.
And with that, they all went to bed, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead. Ambrosius closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep, with his mother's words echoing in his mind.
"I will always be with you, my love."
