Memories
Athanasia woke up to the sound of clattering plates and a splitting headache. She groaned and put a hand to her forehead, trying to remember what had happened. She had been sitting at the breakfast table with James, Sirius, Remus, and Lily, and they had been discussing the latest news from the Wizarding World. And then...nothing. It was all a blur.
"Are you okay?" James's voice was laced with concern as he hovered over her, his hand on her shoulder. Athanasia blinked, trying to clear her head.
"I don't know," she said, her voice coming out in a hoarse whisper. "What happened?"
"You fainted," Sirius said, handing her a glass of water. "Scared the living daylights out of us."
Athanasia took the water and drank it slowly, feeling the cool liquid soothe her parched throat. She looked around the room, noticing the concerned looks on her friends' faces. "I'm sorry," she said, her voice still shaky. "I don't know what happened."
Lily put a comforting hand on her arm. "It's okay," she said. "Just take it easy. Do you remember anything before you fainted?"
Athanasia closed her eyes, trying to focus. And then, suddenly, it all came rushing back to her. Memories flooded her mind, vivid and painful. She gasped and clutched her head, trying to make the images stop.
"Hey, hey," James said, pulling her into a hug. "It's okay. Just breathe."
Athanasia took a deep breath, feeling James's warmth seep into her. She looked up at him, tears in her eyes. "James," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "I remember."
James pulled back, looking at her with concern. "Remember what?"
Athanasia took another deep breath, trying to steady herself. "I remember my past," she said, her voice stronger this time. "Before I came to muggle London. I know who I am."
James and the others looked at her in shock. "What do you mean?" Remus asked, his voice hushed.
Athanasia took a deep breath and began to speak, the words tumbling out of her in a rush. She told them about her life in another world, as the forgotten princess of the Obelian Empire. She told them about her half-sister Jennette and her father Claude, who had cast her out and left her for dead. She told them about her escape from her exile, and her accident that had led to her amnesia.
"I'm not who you think I am," she said, her voice trembling. "I'm an exiled princess from another world. I don't belong here."
James took her hand, looking at her with love in his eyes. "You're Athanasia," he said, his voice firm. "And that's all that matters."
Athanasia looked at him, her heart swelling with love. "But I'm not even from this dimension," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "How can you love me?"
James smiled, brushing a strand of hair away from her face. "Because you're you," he said. "And that's all that matters to me. The fact that you're from another dimension just makes you more unique."
Sirius, Remus, and Lily nodded in agreement, their faces filled with understanding. "We love you, Athanasia," Lily said, taking her other hand. "No matter where you come from."
Athanasia felt a warmth spread through her, a feeling of belonging she had never experienced before. She looked around at her friends, feeling grateful for their love and acceptance. "Thank you," she said, her voice filled with emotion. "Thank you for accepting me for who I am."
The group stayed there for a while longer, talking and comforting Athanasia as she continued to process her memories. She knew that her past would always be a part of her, but she also knew that she had found a new family in these four friends.
They didn't decide to go to Athanasia's old world as they decided that it was best to forget them if they were going to forget that Athanasia is their princess. She'll be the princess in their group, as they decided.
It was easier to move forward than linger in the past after all.
As days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months, Athanasia grew more comfortable with her memories of her past. She still had moments of sadness and longing for her old life, but she knew that she had found a new home and family in this dimension.
She continued to live with James, Sirius, Remus, and Lily, and their bond only grew stronger. They shared everything, from laughter to tears, and Athanasia knew that she was loved and valued.
One day, as they were sitting in their living room, Athanasia brought up a topic that had been on her mind for a while. "Guys," she said, looking at her friends. "I want to do something special for all of you. Something to show you how much you mean to me."
The group looked at her with interest, intrigued by her idea. "What did you have in mind?" James asked, a smile on his face.
Athanasia grinned, feeling excited. "I was thinking of throwing a party," she said. "A party to celebrate us. To celebrate our friendship and all that we've been through together."
The others looked at each other, nodding in agreement. "That's a great idea," Lily said. "We should definitely do it."
And so, they began to plan the party. Athanasia took charge, using her knowledge from her past life to plan a grand celebration. She ordered food and decorations, and even arranged for a live band to play.
The day of the party arrived, and Athanasia was nervous. She wanted everything to be perfect, to show her friends how much she cared for them. As the guests began to arrive, however, her nerves began to ease.
The party was a huge success. There was food and dancing and laughter, and Athanasia felt her heart overflow with joy. She looked around at her friends, seeing the happiness on their faces, and knew that this was exactly what she had wanted.
As the night began to wind down, and the guests began to leave, Athanasia sat with her friends, feeling content. "Thank you," she said, looking at each of them in turn. "Thank you for everything."
The others smiled at her, their love and acceptance shining through. "Thank you for being our friend," Sirius said, taking her hand. "For bringing us together."
Athanasia smiled, feeling grateful. She knew that her past would always be a part of her, but she also knew that she had found a new home and family in this dimension. And for that, she was truly thankful.
