To kill an evil warlord
Summary
Harry Potter has had a pretty eventful life. Or he thought so, at least until his missing twin sister showed up.Cassandra Herondale spent her life trying to find out who she is.She was a Wayland sixteen years ago.A Lightwood ten years ago.A Herondale now.Just when everything finally starts to make sense, Cassie is thrown back into the same hole she’s been trying to crawl out of her whole life.Seriously, a witch? Her?She’s lived as a Shadowhunter. She’d die one too.

The one where Harry has a twin rockstar

Harry always wondered what his godfather looked like when he was upset. According to Remus Lupin, the man was only truly heartbroken twice in his life, when the Potters died, and when he had realised they had been betrayed by one of their closest friends since they were children.

He blinked as he watched Sirius sobbed into his hands, his shoulders shaking while Remus stood still, a mix of confusion and happiness on his face.

Ron scratched his head as Harry coughed awkwardly, unsure of what to do in the situation. Hermione stared in wonder at the two people before them.

“They’re Shadowhunters. That’s amazing! They catch real demons!” Hermione whispered excitedly, ignoring the weeping man beside them.

The man was blonde and tall, which definitely put Harry off due to the reminder of another certain tall blonde who loved making his life miserable.

Tattoos covered almost every inch of visible skin apart from his face. His discomfort was obvious, his frown deepening as he watched Sirius and Remus become a sobbing mess.

The short red headed woman put a hand on his arm, shaking her head. He sighed.

“Frankly, I’m only doing this because I was told that the boy didn’t know she existed.” He told them straightforwardly. He showed the trio the photo that made Sirius and Remus turn into how Harry imagined girls acted on their period.

A group of teenagers laughing as the photo was taken. It was nothing out of the ordinary.

By the way, did he mention that the girl in the middle looked sort of familiar and had the exact same scar he did on her forehead?

“I don’t understand.” said Ron frustratedly. “It's quite simple, really.” Hermione glared at the adults in the room accusingly. “Harry has a twin sister.”

Harry stared at Sirius and Remus with disbelief written all over his face. “Seriously? It’s true?” Harry asked furiously.

Sirius dropped his head, ashamed. “Cassandra.” Remus sighed sadly.

“Let me explain. Twins are usually considered a blessing in the Wizarding World. However, back then, if one was a girl and the other a boy, it was seen as a curse. An abomination. There’s a ceremony where two bottles are placed in front of the children. The red one is laced with the Death Potion while the blue is a Calming Draught. The babies crawl on their own and pick a bottle.”

Harry and Hermione looked at him in horror as Ron nodded. “It’s true. My mum told me about this when I was younger.”

“James and Lily refused to kill neither Harry nor Cassandra. That was her name, you know. So Dumbledore, James, Lily, Sirius and I devised a plan of sorts. During the ceremony, Lily switched the red bottle. But what we didn’t know was that Dolohov had taken Polyjuice and pretended to be the Minister. The Death Potion was in both bottles.”

“Oh Merlin.” Hermione whispered softly. Remus nodded grimly.

“Cassandra and Harry each grabbed a bottle at the same time. Harry drank first. We should have known something was wrong when Dolohov watched him drink the red bottle yet stay perfectly fine. But by the time we realised it, Cassandra drank the contents of the blue bottle.” Harry’s hand covered his mouth in horror.

“This was the same night James and Lily died. I don’t know what exactly happened that night, because Sirius and I left before our magic became unstable and hurt Harry.”

“I was supposed to be her godfather. She had the cutest laugh, always giggling every time I tripped in front of her.” Sirius said wistfully.

“Well, no need to be filled with regret and whatnot, since she is very. Much. Alive.” The blonde deadpanned, completely unamused nor affected by Remus’ story.

“How is she alive? Actually, we can ask her that ourselves. When can we meet her?” Sirius asked excitedly. Remus nodded eagerly.

“Sorry, but you are never going to meet her. Ever.” He said slowly as if he was talking to a deranged child. “Jace. Don’t be so harsh on them.” The redhead told him quietly.

He sighed. “She doesn’t want to meet you. And even if I do tell her all that crap about how you were forced to let her die, she's not going to want to meet you.”

“Wait, she doesn’t want to meet us? Why?” Sirius asked desperately.

Jace took a deep breath and exhaled slowly

“It’s none of your business. You failed her. You have no right to even think about her, let alone meet her.” said Jace. Sirius and Remus’ faces crumbled as Harry snapped out of his daze.

“Why can’t I meet her? I’m her brother. I didn’t even know she existed!” Harry exclaimed. “That’s right. He wasn’t the one who let her almost die. He has a right to see her.” added Hermione. Harry nodded intensely in agreement.

“That is true.” The girl told Jace, who grumbled in disagreement. She turned to them.

“In two months, exchange students from the Academy will arrive here to participate in some of your lessons as you will in theirs. She is one of the students on the list to come here. You can talk to her then. I don’t think she’ll want to talk to the adults, but she’ll definitely hear you out.” She told them.

Harry scrambled to find a pen and paper, which was impossible to find in Sirius’ home when Hermione produced from nowhere after a minute of watching him with pity.

“Her name’s Cassandra, right?” He asked.

“We call her Cassie.” The girl replied. “I don’t like you revealing all this information, Clary.” Jace muttered. “It’s for her own good too. She finally found someone biologically related to her. Don’t you know how much this means to her, whether or not she’s realised it yet?” countered Clary.

She ignored his protests. “Her favourite food is candy, because candy is a food according to her. She loves listening to Miley Cyrus, and reading is one of her favourite pastimes. Romance and horror, of course. Cassie is obsessed with getting her adrenaline pumped up.”

“That’s… nice.” Remus commented as Harry furiously jotted down every word that came out of her mouth.

“No, seriously. It’s unhealthy, for her and the people around her. It took us three months to get her off that weird blue-ringed octopus venom addiction.” Clary shuddered.

“Good luck getting close to her. Truly. She’s like this broody guy over here. Easy to be friends with the outer person, but impossibly difficult to be friends with the inner one.”

She looked at him fondly as Jace muttered something about her having one too many drinks at Pandemonium.

“She’s an interesting person once you get to know her. Cassie is certainly the kind of person you meet only once in your life. She’s rather unpredictable and very spontaneous, so be careful not to mention too many…strange ideas around her.” said Clary.

“You make it sound as if they should tiptoe around her.” Jace grumbled. “He’s very defensive of her. They’re legally siblings, he adopted her two years ago.” She told them. She looked at her watch.

“It’s kind of late.” Jace nodded. “We should get going. Hurt her in any way, and we won’t be the only ones aiming for your throat. Bye.” He drew a rune in the wall, which faintly glowed before dissolving into a dark hole. They stepped through it, disappearing with it.

“Wait. What do you mean, legally siblings?” Harry looked up from his notepad before blinking. “Where’d they go?” He asked. Sirius sighed, ignoring him. “Sounds like we have a lot of preparation to make.”

A SURPRISING MIRACLE

My dear readers, Law 58 of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement in which one twin of a pair of opposite sex borned was to be put to death was demolished five years ago.

However it appears that the supposedly dead twin sister of Harry Potter, The Boy Who Lived, is alive and well!

Imagine my surprise when I did some of my own digging and discovered a picture of her. Is she not the splitting image of James and Lily Potter, who died saving their son?

Look closely at the picture in the right column of the page. Does she not have a familiar scar on her forehead? That’s right! It’s the exact same scar that Harry Potter bears. The night of the ceremony was the night the Dark Lord was vanquished.

I was informed by anonymous sources that Cassandra Potter became a Shadowhunter.

The Academy, school to thousands of generations of Shadowhunters with the most prestigious family names is continuing the tradition of sending their students to Hogwarts as this is the 100th Year since the last batch of exchange students previously came to Hogwarts. The purpose of their arrival is to exchange knowledge of their culture with ours. I checked the name list of students, and that’s right! I found a one Cassandra to be one of the arrivals! Imagine my absolute delight!

I express my regret to Cassandra Potter for almost being put to death just for being born. I regret being one of the witches who stood by idly and let such an inhumane “tradition” continue. We owe Cassandra Potter not only our thanks for previously vanquishing the Dark Lord, but our most sincere apology or not protecting her in the Wizarding World, eventually causing her to turn to the Shadowhunter realm.

Rita Skeeter

“This must be the one time Skeeter was actually happy to have been caught as an Animgus by you, Hermione. You got her an extra juicy story!” Ron exclaimed.

Hermione smiled smugly as Harry paced around the common room.

Sixth Year had started a month ago but all he could think of was their first meeting, apart from a painful encounter with Malfoy involving a bloody nose(what was his problem? Harry only snuck into his compartment and listened to his conversation).

Would she be happy and excited? Or angry and upset? Then again, she had every right to be the latter.

Dumbledore had given them the thumbs up to ask Skeeter to write the story about Cassandra. It had been released two weeks ago, and it was all anyone talked about. Not that he minded, of course.

Snape’s attitude towards him was the only constant in his life. The other Teachers each called him into their studies for a private talk which consisted of bombarding him with questions about a sister he never knew existed.

What was he going to do when she arrived? That was the big question everyone kept asking him. It wasn’t the only one that went unanswered.

Two weeks later: D-Day

“Did you take a Calming Draught?” Hermione asked him. He nodded. “Nervous?” Seamus piped up. He nodded. “Did you sleep with Parkinson last night?” Dean asked. He nodded. The ones who heard the question(which was everyone, the entire hall was interested in Harry’s reaction) snickered as the doors opened.

A large group of teenagers waltzed in. Harry(along with every Hogwarts student) tried to find a familiar face within the group, but was met with disappointment.

A skinny, tall boy with brown hair and beautiful amber eyes quickly made everyone forget about Cassandra as he cleared his throat into the microphone.

“Hello? Hi everyone. I’m Dante, the president of the Academy.” The group of Shadowhunters whooped and cheered as the female population of Hogwarts students joined enthusiastically.

“DADDY!” Someone screamed. Everyone snickered and laughed as he tried not to laugh.

“My friends, juniors and I are very happy to be privileged enough to be the batch to come here. Our academy has a slightly different system to this one. There will be roughly ten students joining each Year apart from the 7th Year because our academy only has 6 years of schooling. Everyone wears red ties apart from a select few, who wear dark green ties. I heard that Hogwarts prepared a concert for us, so we did too!” He smiled.

“And that’s the start of the festival!” Dumbledore boomed as the lights dimmed. The Great Hall was filled with cheers as the spotlight turned on, directing at a girl who was sitting on a stool, carrying a guitar.

She had emerald green eyes. Her dark hair flowed down to her waist. Her tanned skin glowed as she brushed hair away from her forehead revealing a scar. She wore a dark cloak.

“That’s her!” Everyone started murmuring at one as Harry tried to keep his expression calm.

She started strumming. “OH MY GOD! BILLIE EILISH!” Someone screamed. The small population of purebloods looked at each other in confusion while practically everyone else cheered, no longer caring that she was his twin sister.

It seemed music really bonded everyone. Especially when it was Billie Eilish.

She started singing softly.

“When I'm away from you, I'm happier than ever
Wish I could explain it better
I wish it wasn't true
Give me a day or two to think of something clever
To write myself a letter
To tell me what to do, mm-mmm
Do you read my interviews?
Or do you skip my avenue?
When you said you were passing through,” she paused.

“WAS I EVEN ON YOUR WAY?” The rest of the school screamed. She giggled before continuing.

“I knew when I asked you to
Be cool about what I was telling you
You'd do the opposite of what you said you'd do
And I'd end up more afraid
Don't say it isn't fair
You clearly weren't aware that you made me miserable,” she stopped, waiting for the rest of the school.

“SO IF YOU REALLY WANT TO KNOW!” She held her hand up and everyone stopped singing immediately apart from one guy, causing the girl and everyone else to laugh. She continued strumming.

“When I'm away from you
I'm happier than ever
Wish I could explain it better
I wish it wasn't true mmm-mmm.”

The music started playing from the speakers as she got up and exchanged her guitar for an electric one. She shrugged off her cloak, revealing a tie that matched the colour of her eyes, a school blouse and skirt before throwing the cloak in the crowd as someone screamed, “I LOVE YOU CASSIE!”

She walked to the mic stand and continued strumming. Her tone completely changed as she resumed singing.

“You call me again, drunk in your Benz
Driving home under the influence
You scared me to death, but I'm wasting my breath,” she paused.

“CAUSE YOU ONLY LISTEN TO YOUR FUCKING FRIENDS!” The audience screamed.

“I don't relate to you
I don't relate to you, no
'Cause I'd never treat me this shitty
You made me hate this city
And I don't talk shit about you on the internet
Never told anyone anything bad
'Cause that shit's embarrassing, you were my everything
And all that you did was make me fucking sad,”

“FUCK SEBASTIAN! YOU DON’T NEED HIM!” Someone shrieked. Harry filed that away for later before going back to the present. Clary wasn’t joking when she said his sister was one of a kind. She got the audience to bend to her will with a single song, Harry Potter’s twin or not.

She glowed on the stage like she belonged there.

“So don't waste the time I don't have
And don't try to make me feel bad
I could talk about every time that you showed up on time
But I'd have an empty line 'cause you never did
Never paid any mind to my mother or friends
So I shut 'em all out for you 'cause I was a kid
You ruined everything good
Always said you were misunderstood
Made all my moments your own
Just fucking leave me alone!”

She continued playing the electric guitar until the song was over. The hall was silent before it was filled with thunderous applause.

“Holy shit, Potter! Your sister is one amazing chick!” Seamus yelled as the people around him clapped in agreement.

She got down the stage and disappeared once again in the crowd of Shadowhunters as the next person went on stage.

“That’s Cassie Herondale for you! Next, we have…”

The night continued with various performances and talents from both Hogwarts and the Academy but they all paled in comparison to Cassandra’s.

After two hours, Harry gave up trying to find her from his seat and stalked over to the front where the exchange students were, Ron, Hermione and basically the whole of Gryffindor who seemed to have predicted that he would storm over sooner or later.

The first year academy students stared at him as he froze, suddenly nervous. “Erm.”

Hermione sighed. “We’re here to see Cassandra Herondale.” They scoffed and started giggling as one of them spoke up. “If only we all could. But it’s not as easy to meet a hero as you’d think.” He snorted.

“Hey! Harry, here's a hero too, you know. He defeated You Know Who.” Ron defended him. A chorus of agreement ran through the crowd of Hogwarts students behind him.

The first years crossed their arms. “So? Cassie defeated Valentine, the man who tried to eradicate four whole races. Your guy only tried to kill off one.”

A few Hogwarts students scoffed in disbelief. “Yeah? Well Harry survived the Killing Curse. You know, the one that kills every person, even some of your kind.” Someone pointed out.

“So did Cassie. Suck it, losers!” The eleven year olds jeered as the Hogwarts population blinked in confusion at being told off by a bunch of young kids.

“All right, that’s enough. Knock it off guys.” Cassandra herself appeared and immediately started lecturing her juniors, whose mocking expressions instantly changed to one of adoration and understanding as they clung onto her every word.

They muttered halfhearted apologies until she was satisfied. “They started it though, Ms Cassie. They demanded to see you!” One of them piped up.

She finally caught sight of Harry and froze before composing herself. “Get them to bed?” She asked her friend softly. He nodded and started gathering the young children.

She walked up to Harry, smiling wryly. “Hello, brother.”
