"NINA!!"
The aquatic girl nearly jumped out of her scales! She soon looked back and forth to take awareness of her surroundings......were they......inside the LEAGUE'S TRANSPORT!?
"About time, you were starting to scare the shit out of me......" Nina looked over and saw the worried faces of her teammates......especially Bride's!
"Sorry, sorry, I guess I spaced out......" She tried to dismiss the subject, only to see no one, not even Weasel, were fooled by her lie, she sighed deeply, "I was just told my father is still alive and he's been looking for me......." Nina's face fell, thinking about all that time they lost.......
She was brought our of her thoughts when a shadow loomed over her and when she looked up, she saw Wonder Woman. Despite Nina's sadness, she looked at Diana with awe, always fantasying being her sidekick when she was younger......to see her now, Nina couldn't bring herself to speak.....
Wonder Woman kneeled down to Nina's eye level and gave her a reassuring smile.
"It is not the length of time, but the quality of that time......no matter what, you and your father can make better, happier memories together." Nina always watched the news when Wonder Woman was being broadcasted, when she was at interviews, or even the motivational speeches to inspire more people all paled in comparison to all of them.
"I......I.....thank you......." Was all Nina could bring herself to say. Wonder Woman chuckled as she stood and walked away. Nina was still so flabbergasted.......she didn't notice the iratated look on Bride's face......and soon glared over at a certain skeleton who was laughing his ass off.
"What's so funny, Sambedi!?" Bride asked in an aggressive tone!
"Nothing......nothing......it's just hilarious to see the big, bad, patch-work bitch......be so petty as to be jealous of someone talking to her girlfriend......" Phosphorus then laughed even harder, soon being joined by Grundy, who didn't understand what was going on and just enjoyed laughing.
"Chuckle....." Onomatopoeia said, followed by Medusa's laughter. How Bride hated all of them!
"Wait....w-what.....jealous?" Nina asked, suddenly coming out of her 'awe' trance as she heard that, "oh.....oh darnit......it's not like that! Bride, I swear it's not that.......I was a big fan of her's as a kid, so seeing her in person-" Nina was soon cut off by Bride's surprise kiss. When they separated, Bride had a serious look to Nina's surprised face.
"Just remember we're together....." Well, those two just made things awkward.......
"All right! All right!" Flagg yelled, getting everyone's attention, "The Justice League is willing to hear us out and not have us all put away with no way of doing this kind of shit and having a few days of freedom."
"So, just like our regular lives?" Phosphorus asked.
"Quit being a smart-ass, Phosphorus, ya don't even have an ass!" Bride snapped.
"Come on, guys," Nina begged, "Phosphorus, we've talked about this in therapy, you tend to say things you're fully aware of what you're saying but not aware how other people feel."
"Oh no, I've always known how people feel when I say shit!" Phosphorus admitted, but soon regretted when he saw Nina's face fall.......and then hearing Grundy growling right next to him, "W-what I mean is, I finally understood how.....hurtful my vocabulary can be....."
Nina's face was still sad, but she did give a small smile. They all felt the transport stop and as everyone stood up.....
"Wait.....where's G.I.'s head?" Nina asked as she suddenly realized their robotic companion, or at least his head, wasn't with them. Bride patted Nina's shoulder.
"The League took G.I.'s head for repairs." Bride answers, earning a smile from Nina, but soon seeing her eyes widen and her mouth hanging open. Bride turns towards what Nina was staring at.....
Bride rolled her eyes as she saw Justice League's main Headquarters.......The Hall of Justice!
