The Heart Returns

  The audience who were mainly just rich and corrupt people were panicking and scattering, only for the Flash and Raven to capture them. The ones who were well-known villains took up arms, while others were able to sneak out.

 The fighters came out and joined in the battle! 

 Bride was trying to come up with a plan to finish the mission......only to remember Atomic Skull was right behind her and charging!

 SLAM! 

 Until Superman landed on Skull.

 "I'd like to ask politely for you to surrender, miss." Superman being his usual boyscout self, annoying Bride greatly.

 Suddenly a stream of green, radioactive fire, Skull forcing Superman off! Skull stood up and turned to face Superman. 

 "Who cares about MetaBrawl Champion, when I could be known as the man who broke the Man of Steel!" Atomic Skull stated as he and Superman charged at eachother.

 She was able to make it out the arena into the hallway, where two guards tried to stop her, only for them to be quickly dispatched by the Patch-work woman. Bride was in the hallway, running where she was positive lead to Roulette's office.....until she ran into the last person she wanted to run into.

 Letting Cinderblock fall next to Evil Star, Diana of Themyscira turned to see Bride. She stood tall and proud, dressed in her Amazonian Armor blessed by the gods, definitely the most beautiful woman on Earth. She glared at Bride, the two having bad history.

 "Bride......"

 "Diana....." 

 Both women circled eachother, taking measure of each.

 "I see you joined another band of goody two-shoes as usual......" Bride states.

 "And I see you've lowered yourself, fighting in these gladiatorial fights for the entertainment of the corrupt....." Bride hated when people get so uppity like Diana was.

 "And I see you still retain that air of superiority lf yours......" Bride responded, only for Diana to smirk.

 "Can't say I'm against a good fight, but MetaBrawl, simple brawlers and weaklings. " Bride raises her eyebrow, so Diana has loosened up, "Now, I need you to answer me......what are you really doing here?"

 Bride watches as Diana's hand instinctively reached for her lasso of truth. Bride rolled her eyes.

 "No need for the kink, sweetheart. I'm simply here to kill Roulette so she can't start this whole shit ever again." Bride wasn't really in the mood for a bout with Wonder Woman, "So, ya gonna stop fuck off, or are we going another round, what's the score again? 5 to 4......"

 "You know damn well I had to save innocents, and we agreed to postpone that......wasn't my fault you got incarcerated before we could finish." Bride smirked, the great Wonder Woman did have a few cracks in her perfect marble, "If you ran into Superman or Batman, they surely would've stopped you......but Roulette has taken this.......disgusting sport to corrupt her soul beyond redemption.....however," Bride would've said she was surprised to see Wonder Woman actually step aside so Bride could continue on her way, "I never saw you as you snuck past me."

 Bride always found the League as nothing but optimistic dreamers, fighting to keep the world safe, not for reputation or reward, and they would never take a life, even if the person was pure evil. But it seems Diana has a more realistic view.

 "......thank you....." Diana's eyes widen, did Bride just thank her, seems Diana isn't the only one who changed.

 As Bride took off running, Diana was curious.

 "What happened to you to actually show gratitude?" Diana wasn't expecting her to answer......

 "Her name's Nina!" Ahhh, so that's the reason. Well, Diana was now assured than ever she made the right decision letting Bride pass her. She was also glad Bride had someone who made her happy.......but Diana knew Erik would try to ruin it. 

 Seems Diana has to watch for more than just a collection of villains. Erik will not take the happiness of Diana's sister-in-arms.

 Dozens of supervillains suddenly arrived, led by Penguin! Diana cracked her knuckles before launching herself at the small army of evil!

-Back with the truck-

 Question kept firing one of assault rifles he found in the speeding truck to fire at a now flaming, Frankenstein Monster!

 Grundy and Onomatopoeia were still injured, but Onomatopoeia had enough strength to use an assault rifle himself. Grundy simply acted as a wall to protect Nina, G.I.Robot, and Khalis.

 "Grundy, are you sure you're alright?" Nina asked, worried about her behemoth friend.

 "Grundy okay, Grundy protect fish girl." Nina always knew Grundy was a good person. Sure, he was a thug for hire and usually the muscle of most villain teams, but deep down, he was a good person.

 "God damn, I always figured Frankenstein's monster was tough, but I figured fire could at least slow him down!" Question yelled as he reloaded his weapon, "You definitely found quite a girlfriend with such a towering stalker."

 Nina's eyes widen, how did he know about her and Bride!

 "Nina!" Nina turned to the direction of Flagg's voice, "The Question's been my source for the blackmail I've used on Waller. He's been investigating you as well!"

 "And I have information important to you, kid!" Question yelled.

 "Bangbangbangbangbangbang!" Onomatopoeia yelled as he fired his weapon until it went empty and he had to reload.

 "Oh, well, it's at least nice to meet you," Nina loudly said, "and thank you for saving me!"

 "Your welcome!" Question yelled, "We got anything capable of actually harming this guy that doesn't include calling a nuke!"

 "G.I.Robot should have extra firepower in his Tank Mode......" Nina looks near the container where G.I.Robot's Tank Mode was......broken by Erik when he tore through the walls, "But it seems G.I.Robot's Tank Mode is unavailable at the moment to aid in killing Erik whose similar to a zombie....."

 Question looked at the remaining part of the Tank Mode still intact, the laser cannon with a few wires sparking.

  "I have an idea!" Question states as he falls to his knees and grabs the wires, "Grundy, I need you to lift this cannon!"

 "Huh, but cannon broke," Grundy responds, "how blank face fire?"

 "The body to the cannon broke, but the cannon itself may still be functional," Question explains, "but if you hold the cannon up as I cross these wires, we should get a single blast stored in the cannon!"

 Grundy had a confused look on his face, until Nina put a gentle hand on his massive one.

 "Simply hold up the cannon and it will shoot." Nina summarized, which Grundy immediately understood and held up.

 "Cover your eyes!" Question yelled as he connected the wires and a bright light fired.......when it died down, it might've been a bad idea.

 There was a massive smoking hole that stretched through the city, the last building falling down. The truck lost its back, the remaining part just skidding on the road......with Onomatopoeia hanging on for dear life until Grundy picked him up.

 Flagg finally stopped the truck when the traffic light turned red. When the truck stopped, the remaining tires falling off, the front bumper falling off, and smoke bursting from the engines.......Flagg couldn't help but drop his forehead onto the horn......which soon died as well.

 -In Roulette's Office-

 Roulette wasn't happy! Not. At. All! Those meddling superheroes are arresting her clients and fighters, all of whom she uses for blackmail to even fund all this!

 Now, this isn't the first or second time this kinda thing happened......it was the third!

 She's always found it impossible to keep rebuilding or at least hiding these events better! But noooooooooo! Somehow, these heroes keep finding her and keep ruining her!

 The doors swung open as Black Mask, Roman Sionas, one of Gotham's top crime lords, came storming in with Vertigo in tow.

 "What the fuck is this shit, Roulette!?" Black Mask yelled, demanding to know why he was losing both henchmen and his bets!

 "Indeed, this inconvenience is quite troubling." Vertigo agrees, "This bodes ill for us......if he decides we are of no further use."

 "Look, I don't know how this all is happening!" Roulette yelled at the two, "But I can promise you, they'll never get us, and he won't be the wiser!"

 "Do you really believe that, my dear....." A disembodied voice made the three frozen in terror as The Shade stepped out of the shadows, "I assure you, my dear, the shadows knows all."

 "M-m-master Shade!" Roulette stutters as she finally found her voice, "We weren't expecting you!"

 "And I wasn't expecting another one of my agents to be so........disappointing." Shade then tapped his cane on the ground, "We shall take our leave, gentlemen."

 The shadows everywhere started moving and eclipsed the room in darkness......and when the lights came back up, Roulette was all alone.

 ......for a few seconds before Bride smashed the doors down! Roulette pulled out her pistol and fired.......only for Bride to tilt her head and the bullet to miss.

 Bride then pulled out her pistol and fired, putting a hole through Roulette's head, and walked away.

-Back with Flagg's group-

 Flagg, Nina holding G.I.Robot's head, Grundy, Onomatopoeia, Khalis, and Question all headed near the entrance, and seeing the wreckage.

 "I can already guess the mission has gone awail." Flagg stated, "We need to find the others and get the Hell out of here."

 "Knowing Bride, she's probably already completed the mission." Nina responds, having confidence in her girlfriend. 

 "Let's hope so," Flagg mutters, "Grundy, clear our way!"

 Grundy slowly nodded as he punches the door down and starts flinging supervillains around to give the team a clear path. 

 "Maybe best if G.I. and I stay behind," Khalis stated, "a medic is no good dead."

 "Very well, Onomatopoeia, you stay with him. Nina, hand him G.I." Flagg nods in agreement, Nina then hands Khalis G.I.'s head.

  Flagg, Nina, Question and Grundy then started heading inside the building.......until villains started dogpiling on Grundy!

 "Shit!" Flagg curses as he was soon jumped by two supervillains! Nina and Question attempted to help when......

 CRASH!

 Until they turned to see the last person to run into......

 "Where's the woman whose keeping me from my Bride!!?" Erik, covered in horrible burns, even some bones showing, but he was still strong and still obsessed with Bride and kill anyone who interferes.

 "You should probably run....." Question advised, which Nina more than obliged as she sprinted away and Question heads over to help Flagg.

 Erik immediately chased after her!
