The team assembled in the briefing room......and thankfully, Waller wasn't there. With the constant threats of blackmail and Waller not being able.to find Flagg's source, which the rest of the team had no idea who it was, so Waller kept her distance. It's probably in case the team gets captured, Waller can deny any and all connections.
Either way the team.was assembled; Rick Flagg Sr., Bride, Nina, Ultra Humanite, Khalis, Medusa, Doctor Phosphorus, G.I.Robot, Solomon Grundy, Weasel, and finally, their latest member thanks to blackmailing, Onomatopoeia.
"Alright team, let's discuss the latest mission!" Flagg states, he then presses a button, showing several images that looked like supervillains in cage fights, "It's called MetaBrawl, not sure which of you know about it."
Humanite, Phosphorus, Grundy, and even Onomatopoeia raised their hands.
"A rather horrid form of entertainment, in my opinion." Humanite states.
"You kidding!?" Phosphorus asked in a shocked tone, "MetaBrawl is the number one form of entertainment! I made millions of dollars betting on the champ."
"Grundy fight in cage and liked it......" Grundy says in his usual, slow tone.
"Yeah, I think I might've heard some other inmates talking about it......" Nina confessed, "but I have no idea what the exact purpose of it is."
"Simple terms, an illegal fighting tournament for metahumans." Flagg explains, "One time, one of our moles told me that Wildcat, one of the founders of the Justice Society and a veteran hero, fought in it. Anyway, the fights are ran by this woman."
Flagg then pressed another button and the screen showed a beautiful, Asian woman wearing a sleeveless, backless red dress with the side cut up the leg, which exposed the dragon tattoo going up from her leg to her back. She had her hair in a bun and wears sunglasses.
"This is Roulette, she runs MetaBrawl and has connections to everyone; mob bosses, crime lords, terrorist leaders, dictators, politicians, nobility, royalty, etc." Flagg explains.
"Yeah, I met her a couple of times," Phosphorus states, "the woman is cold-blooded as Waller, but also incredibly greedy, she knows how to get fighters into the ring....."
"You're not wrong," Flagg agreed, "Roulette has brought in thousands of supervillains, even those who wanted to turn over a new leaf......a lot of those fighters.....they don't make it...."
Silence held over the team, Bride putting a comforting hand on Nina's shoulder, knowing full well how much this information hurt to hear.
"Our job is to take MetaBrawl down!" Flagg states, "We need to sneak into the arena under the guise that has people believe we've got some new fighters. Unfortunately.......it limits us because of the few rules they actually have."
"Like what?" Bride asked, never once thinking a death brawl would care about rules.
"No weapons, and no one shot abilities, which rules out G.I.Robot." Flagg explains, "Medusa and Humanite don't seem too fond of fighting and Khalis is definitely too old to fight, no offense."
"None taken, I'm as frail as glass." Khalis responded.
"G.I.Robot is disappointed he won't be participating in the mission, but G.I.Robot will help if needed." G.I. added.
"Honestly, we only have three to enter," Flagg explains, "Bride, Onomatopoeia, and Grundy, the three of you can fight without weapons. We'll have Phosphorus pretend he's back as Gotham's biggest crime lord."
"Wait......me?" Phosphorus asked.
"You're the only one out of all of us who was a criminal and you were a rising crime lord who took out Robert Thorne." Flagg explains.
"Yeah, 15 years ago, before the Bat took me down!" Phosphorus retorts, "Be kinda suspicious for me to suddenly reappear!"
"Oh please, you could've broken out anytime you wanted." Bride states, which everyone agrees.
"Seriously, you guys knew about that?" Phosphorus asked, positive he had everyone fooled.
"Honestly......yeah," Nina added, "it seems you hide the fact you're actually the most powerful among us, excluding Khalis and his magic."
"Thank you, my dear." Khalis responded.
"G.I.Robot must agree, the levels of your radiation is above survivability." G.I. explains, Phosphorus sighing, realizing he's been found out.
"Fiiiiine, I could've left at anytime!" Phosphorus confesses, "I actually like being around you guys."
"Alright, we got our fighters and sponsor, now we just send our guys over to MetaBrawl." Flagg summarizes, "Let's get this done and get it done soon!"
