The incarnate goddess maybe the only one seeing the slew of notifications her latest action had caused – all the others were already feeling the changes too. Around them, the forest, though still as dark, was already feeling less menacing – dangerous, naturally, but more in the way that wilderness was dangerous, rather than in the disturbing, corrupting way it had been until now.
“This little one will always tend toward the Dark Side more naturally.” Shadow told them, eyeing the sleeping child, “But darkness doesn’t equate to evil.”
This, Katmalla knew well, as Wookies were very emotional beings by nature, which was why so few of them chose to thread the path of the Jedi. And suddenly, the First Voice of the People knew why she was there.

With a smile, she stepped toward the Old Tree, gently taking the baby from his arms.
“ We’ll teach him to be one of the People of the Trees.” she vowed
“ In time, he’ll find his way to me.” the god concurred, knowing well that right now he needed to heal, rather than care for a baby
Like a glimpse of the future, all, mortals and immortals alike, could suddenly see it. The little cub, no longer nameless, growing up loved and loving among the Wookie, taught their ways as a hunter and a priest, before growing into his powers, and in time, making his way back to the Old Tree, who in turn would teach him as a god.

“ Well,” Arya mused, “I guess it’s time for me to leave.” a smile, “My husbands are expected on Ossus soon after all.”
“Ossus?” the Old Tree, that was looking younger and stronger by the moment, repeated musingly, “I may well be able to help.”
The Wild Force surged, branches rising and curling nearby, shaping up into a portal, veiled by long vines of white leaves – Arya’s eyes widened as she suddenly understood what she was seeing, and she turned toward Katmalla, “Well, this is where we part, my friend.”
“Indeed.” the First Voice agreed, hugging her with one arm, baby in the other, before kneeling to be at eye level with Katliak , hugging her tightly, “Be safe, daughter.”
The affirmation surprised the Mirialan – but only for a second. After all, she may not have put the words on it, the elder Wookie and her had indeed been sharing the girl’s apprenticeship for weeks now.

[Level up! Arya Lunika is now LV 97!

Feeling the bond snap into place, far quicker than it had for Saarai or Chirrut and Baze didn’t surprise her that much – A month of back to back fighting had a way of forging ties between people after all.
So she smiled, asking, “Shall we go, padawan?”
She was answered with a bright smile.
Sending a mental nudge to the UnfetteredMooka to start heading toward Tython, as she didn’t doubt she’d be able to hitch a ride with Arkous and Obi Wan, Arya stepped toward the green portal, new padawan and familiars on her steps.

And after a few mind dizzying seconds where she felt herself drowning in the Wild Force, she stepped on the other side – on the other side of the galaxy.
Feeling the welcoming hum of a familiar presence in the back of her mind, Arya confirmed to herself that they were on Ossus –and in a large cave, that must have been completely underground once upon a time, but had started to crumble with time, letting the sunlight peak here and there, revealing that they were in the middle of a tangle of roots, near the foot of an imposing, and rather familiar tree.
A tree under whose roots, once upon a time, Xenloth had found his new sabers – and left his own one behind.
A living tree, that after thousands of years of slumbering, was finally stirring.

“It has been a long time, since I last felt this presence.” a gravely voice mused, as slowly, the gigantic tree started to turn into a tall human-like figure, wearing old-style Jedi robes
“When I told him where we were headed, Kalla Ciir was kind enough to open a passage for us,” Arya explained
“Kalla Ciir?” the other repeated slowly, “Yes, I remember him.” he agreed after a few seconds, “I saw him once, when I was a very young sapling.” he tilted his head, observing them curiously, “But I recognize you too, young and old one.” he mused, “I felt you during my sleep, a long time ago. You were with a Sith that wasn’t one.”
“You gave him lightsabers.” Arya agreed, “Back then, were only came as archaeologists.” she told him, “And the planet was still very damaged. But Ossus is healed now, and the Jedi are coming back.”
“Then my long slumber hasn’t been for nothing, and the knowledge and artifacts I’ve protected won’t be lost to the order anymore.” the Neti concluded with quiet satisfaction

“Indeed.” Arya agreed, “Though I’m afraid that you haven’t awakened to an era of peace.”
“Unsurprising. Peace is to be striven for, but it is fleeting.” the old Jedi agreed
Around them, Arya noted, people were slowly approaching.
All of them looking near human, though with light-brown skin of a tone the Mirialan didn’t think she’d ever seen before, large eyes that she could guess could easily adapt from bright light to darkness, and thick hair kept in tight braids. These, she recognized, were the survivors of Ossus’ near destruction – four millennia ago, they had still been quite primitive, more instinctive than sentient, set on protecting the ruins of the old Jedi temple. Now she could easily feel and see, they were a fully-fledged thinking specie once more, having built from the ruins of the Jedi a new tribal society.

Having seen Arya and her padawan arrive from nowhere, and the great tree that had been there for as long as their society existed awaken, they were welcomed with some awe, and a lot of curiosity.
The Ysanna, as they called themselves, rejoiced at the news that the Jedi were coming – as there was quite a few Force sensitives among them, they’d always kept in mind, somehow, that they were waiting for someone to take care of the ruins they were protecting – and as soon as Arya had mentioned the Jedi, they knew that those were the people they’d been waiting for.

¤.¤.¤

That evening, there was a feast in the Ysanna’s caves, and as the night was ending, Arya took her padawan to the side, to start a new braid. She took out of her Inventory  a heavy yet ornamented comb the Chinese pantheon's two leaders had gifted her, among other things, when they'd adopted her, which was meant for her tails, which she didn't doubt would work just as well for the Wookie's dense fur.
After a spending a bit of time gently combing the girl's head, she started to weave in the new braid the yellow bead that marked the start of their journey together, but also a dark blue one, marking her as a Je’daii rather than a Jedi, a light green one, to symbolize the way she could use the Living Force as a Wookie priestess, a clear one, to symbolize her ability to purify, and finally a dark violet one, to symbolize their trip through the Shadowlands.
Grooming among Wookies was just as important as it was among daiyoukai, so the young girl had quietly enjoyed the shared moment, and finally gone to sleep, able to truly rest for the first time in weeks.

The next morning, Arya had awakened early, feeling surprisingly refreshed given that she’d all but come out of a war zone, and not surprised at all to hear the call of the planet’s god. She sent a mental nudge at her familiars, who settled around her new padawan, that was, understandably enough, still deeply asleep.
The trip through the depths of Ossus seemed to take no time at all, and the god she was seeing for the second time was looking quite better than the first time they’d met.
“ Welcome back, Shadow.” the god greeted genially, glowing violet eyes warm and friendly, “You were gone for a long time, but the changes your presence waged in the galaxy could be felt from afar.”
“How could I not help?”
“Indeed.” the god agreed, “It is part of your nature.” a smile, “I am grateful, nonetheless, just like all who realize how much you’ve helped our galaxy.”

They spent some time talking, the god rather curious about the on-goings of the galaxy, which he didn’t know that much about, since the Ysanna were still very much insular. Just like the people who’d evolve back among the caves of his planet, the god was happy to welcome the Jedi back – which didn't really surprise her, given that the planet was still heavily steeped in the Light Side, and had been a home for a Jedi a long time ago. Gods could, and did, get attached too, after all, even if the mortals didn’t always realize it .
By the time Arya got back to the Ysanna encampment, she could see a few of the children looking rather intrigued at Katliak, while she was whittling a piece of wood Arya recognized as coming from the Old Tree, while amicably talking in yips and growls with Padfoot, Blanche and Kagetsu – reminding the Je’daii that she would need to procure a vocal translator for the Wookie, since it was, with her vocal cords, all but impossible for her to speak basic .

The next few days were spent leisurely, Arya starting to tell more about the Je’daii and Tython to Katliak, while bringing Ood Bnar, the old Neti Jedi they’d awakened, up to date with the galaxy's events during his slumber. There were always a few Ysanna around to listen to her tales, she noticed – not that she minded, of course.
Then finally, she started to feel numerous Force presence approaching, two among them shinning like beacons to her senses.
The Jedi had been surprised, but happy, to be welcomed by the Ysanna – master Nu especially, once she met Ood Bnar and learned he had taken the form of a tree to protect lightsabers and other artifacts from destruction – while the Ysanna themselves had religiously watched over the mythical Grand Library of Ossus.

Not everything had been saved from the planet’s near destruction, nor time – but so much more than the Jedi had ever known!
Suddenly, their departure from Coruscant, that quite a few still felt a bit like a failure on their part, was shaping into something better. Into a real new beginning. The discreet aura of sadness that some had been sporting finally started to fade away, as they felt, without quite realizing what it was, that the very planet was welcoming them.

As for Arya, her husbands hadn’t wasted any time whisking her and her new padawan away in the Sandwalking Mooka’s den, where the two of them had told them about their travel through the Shadowlands, not to mention the fact that she’d taught the ways of holy servants to a whole generation of Wookies priests and priestess.
“Still,” Obi Wan had mused, “ It seems the unknown apprentice is getting more daring.”
“They were set back against me, but they’ve realized that regular people don’t know anything about fighting those creatures.” Arya agreed, “They are shaping up to be dangerous, and just as skilled as Sidious when it comes to hiding themselves.”

“Speaking of Palpatine…”
“He’s starting to be enough of a liability that killing him wouldn’t be a bad idea. But he’s also powerful enough that a fight against him won’t be discreet, and political important enough that his disappearance won't go unnoticed either…”
“In other words, we’ve got to get him away from Coruscant, and find a good reason for his death.”

The topic was shelved for now, as right now, the man was neck deep enough in politicking that he wouldn’t be leaving the planet anytime soon. Instead, Arkous had sent a rather languorous – and rather amused – glance all over his wife’s body, “So, nuya Jen’Nwit… New look?”
“Not that we mind… At all.” Obi Wan had added, looking just as mischievous
The woman looked nonplussed for a moment, before a laughing Katliak had gently tugged on one of the tails neatly arranged around her master, in a way that betrayed years and years of habit.
The Mirialan’s eyes widened in surprise, only then realizing that her appearance hadn’t reverted back to her usual one when they’d left the Shadowlands “Oh wow, I hadn’t realized the Old Tree’s blessing was that powerful.” she mused

Now that she was aware of it, it took but a mental nudge for her body to turn back to her usual appearance – then another one to get back tails, claws and fangs, much to her padawan’s visible happiness.
“ This is going to make it even easier to switch between Dasha of the Green Moon and Arya Lunika.” the incarnate goddess concluded happily
After all – who would mistake a Mirialan without tattoos with a strange near-Mirialan with tails and numerous tattoos? And the Je’daii and other Force users were used enough to the strange and unusual, especially after years of upheaval of the Jedi order, not to bat an eye at the change.

Which, she realized – may well be why no one had told her anything when she’d greeted the arriving Old Order. Though, now that she thought about it, Yoda had looked particularly amused – and there had been a stress vein on Mace’s brow, not that she’d really thought much of it, as the poor Master of the old Jedi Order was always so stressed out…

¤.¤.¤

Since the Jedi were settling on Ossus well enough, and communication relays had been put in place, the Je’daii chose not to linger, staying a few weeks to help them to start to settle in, before heading back toward Tython, where they arrived a bit after the Unfettered Mooka.
Chirrut and Baze were on the last step of their Great Journey, while Anakin had instead chosen to spend more time in Akar Kesh to help Maul, who was struggling there. Neither of the Je’daii masters were really surprised, as the temple of balance was one that taught a lesson not everyone was equally prepared for – and Maul, naturally darkly aligned, was bound to have problems there.
The mere fact that the Dathomiri had chosen to tackle the challenge, barely three years into his padawanship, spoke volumes about his progress and natural talent, not to mention, about Saarai’s gift as a teacher.

And Anakin choosing to stay and help – also told a lot about the boy, who truth be told, could have gone through the whole Great Journey in one go even years ago, if he’d chosen to, given how in tune he was with Tython and the Force. But the boy was also intelligent enough to know that the Great Journey’s aim wasn’t so much about completing the journey, rather than about how it was done.
Chirrut and Baze were old enough to be ready to travel beyond, and it was evident that Maul was nearly ready too…
But Anakin had no intention to graduate beyond padawan quite yet, no matter how happy he’d been about earning the bead of a senior one.

So the trio, plus one padawan headed first to Akar Kesh, to check on Anakin and Maul – the boy all but pouting as he realized that despite Arya having a new padawan, he still was the youngest in the family…
“I can’t wait for mom’s baby to be born!” he proclaimed dramatically, “Then I won’t be the youngest anymore!”
They had laughed at the affirmation – but left with the promise that they would be headed to Sojourn next, where the padawan was intending of staying with his mother until the end of her pregnancy.
Then, they’d headed to Vur Tepe.

The ancient forge was as impressive as ever, humming with power and anticipation as they arrived. Arya’s two elder padawan had been quite amused to meet their new sister-padawan, which they’d immediately befriended, but not surprised, having guessed as much when the Force had started to urge them on their own path.
Th e incarnate goddess was, after all, someone who knew how to impart knowledge, and change the life of people for the better. And they both agreed that this was a gift that had to be shared with others.
And so, it was hand in hand with her brother-padawans that Katliak started to wander beneath the forge, further and deeper, all three hearing the planet and it’s two moons' call with a startling clarity.
“ Well, shall we go and say hello in the meantime .” Arya mused, smiling, as the three disappeared on what could only be a gathering

While it was rather expected for Chirrut and Baze, who were already knights, and nearly Journeymen, to find a new crystal, as even if they already had two crystals, it was more a matter of the weapons themselves, rather than of power – this new crystal would be the one making their blades into those of Journeyman, rather than mere padawans.
The fact that Katliak had heard the call too was more surprising, as the young Wookie already had a crystal, and a rather powerful one at that, in the form of the leaf gifted by the Old Tree. The same leaf, that was now hanging around Padfoot, Blanche and Kagetsu’s necks, and that Arya had for now braided into her hair, amidst the colorful beads the Jedi reformation had put back in fashion among Force users .

But the young girl had a fighting experience far superior to what padawan usually had at her age, so it was easily explained thanks to her trip in the Shadowlands, that had made her grow beyond her years, be it in terms of fighting prowess or as a priestess. And some blades sometimes simply required two crystals to be powered, just like Chirrut’s pike-staff.
Arkous, Obi Wan and Arya chatted amicably with Tython, Ashla and Bogan, while waiting for the three young Je’daii to complete their gathering. The three local deities looked far more alive than they had before, clearly reinvigorated by the fact that once more, mortals lived on their ground. Just like most planetary deities, they also quite enjoyed hearing about Shadow, War and Animus' adventures among mortals, and the Chaos they waged with their every action.
Eventually, feeling Arya's three padawan starting to find their way back toward the forge, the three incarnate gods left the local one, and went back to the ancient temple.

¤.¤.¤

Once more, Chirrut and Baze were sharing their vision.
Though this time, they knew, it wasn’t of an alternate life. But of the one waiting ahead of them.

Of traveling across a galaxy at war, sometimes as scouts, sometimes to extract people who needed to make a quick escape.
Of danger and adventure, of strife and happiness.
Of once more, fighting for a cause larger than their two lives – but of far less despair.
Of multiple padawans, along the years.
Of their life, as Je’daii.

When the two young men stumbled out of the planet’s depths, hand in hand, there were two identical yet opposite crystals in their entwined hands. One, a dark blue, nearly black, and humming faintly with the Dark Side, was already showing a natural cutting lines – and would be going into Baze’s two shoto. The other, a green so light it was nearly translucent, was shinning with the Light Side, and would be enhancing Chirrut’s pike staff.

Meanwhile, Katliak too had started to see things, though having grown up as the First Voice’s daughter, this was something she was rather used to.

She saw a galaxy where the Old Tree had called for help, but only her mother had heard.
She saw Katmalla, heading alone into the Shadowlands, never to be seen again, the forest’s lower levels growing darker and more dangerous with each passing day – and herself, growing bitter, and leaving her people behind.
She saw the Republic fall, the People of the Trees enslaved and the Trees torn down.
Her other self, turning a blind eye for as long as she could, only remembering her true self once enslaved deep in the mine of Kessel, trying to give to the weakening slaves some hope by telling once more the old tales and legends of their faith.
An uprising.
And her other self, prematurely old, sacrificing herself to let just a few more of her people escape.

Her first reflex, when she stumbled back into the forge, was to engulf her master in a bone-crushing hug – Arya nearly disappearing in the young Wookie’s embrace, as even at only twelve years old, Katliak was already a head taller than her.
Then, the young padawan had opened her paw, revealing two twin crystals, perfectly balanced, both a light yellow. Katliak nodded with a smile, clearly already having an idea of what she wanted to do.

And proving that, for someone who’d only known about the MoonGame for a few weeks, as it was during their trip to Tython that Arya had introduced her to it, she really had taken well to it, she proceeded to fish out quite a few parts out of her Inventory, earning and impressed and approving nod from Baze for her practical thinking.
What she didn’t have, she found around, as Vur Tepe had been seeing enough of an upsurge of visits over the years, that there were now not only new forging material, but also other crafting odds and ends lying around – and of course, quite a bit of lightsaber parts among those.

Soon, while Baze and Chirrut were falling in meditation facing each other, lightsabers starting to disassemble, then recombine between the two of them, Katliak was turning toward Arya.
The two females slipped in the currents of the Force easily, shared meditation having come effortlessly to the two of them – once more, Arya suspected, because they’d become rather attuned to the other during the weeks spent descending through Kashyyyk’s dangerous forests. Immediately, Arya saw what the padawan wanted to do, and was both impressed, and suddenly more understanding of just why she needed not one but three crystals to achieve it.

The artfully ornate hilt the Wookie had spent the past few weeks carving out of the Old Tree’s branch was as wide as Arya’s hand – though that only meant that it would be comfortable for Katliak to grip.
Inside went, of course, the blade emitter, focusing lens, cycling field energizer and other energy core and inert power insulator, but also an electromagnetic coil, a barrel, an accelerator and two polarizers.
The two yellow crystals she placed with the polarizers themselves, one on each side of the hilt like some sort of guard – the leaf, was more traditionally placed into the hilt itself.

“Is that a bow-caster?” a fascinated Baze asked as the two women came out of their meditation, the heavy weapon falling into the young Wookie’s arms
For only answer, Katliak smirk, cocking the arms in a split second, before shooting in the distance, earning an impressed whistle from her brother-padawan – then, she changed her grip on the weapon, pressing a switch that made the arms fall back along the hilt, and a wide, flat blade of light to ignite, in a light gold and amber color quite reminiscent of the crystallized leaf that was her lightsaber’s main focusing crystal. The blade wasn’t very long, and looked strangely like a hunting knife – but all quite agreed that the young padawan really had crafted a lightsaber that perfectly suited her.

That evening, all had headed back to Padawan Kesh, where Chirrut and Baze were finally formally acknowledged as Je’daii Journeymen – and Katliak introduced to the order.
The next few days, the two newly minted Journeymen spent showing their little sister-padawan around, letting her learn a bit about life on the planet and among the order.
“Take advantage of any moment of peace and quiet.” Chirrut had advised her
“And have fun whenever you can!” Baze had interjected
“Because life by our master’s side is rarely calm.”
“She’s an agent of Chaos.”

The nearly twin-speak and assessment of the Mirialan had made the Wookie laugh – though truth be told, she did think their advice warranted, given all that she’d been a part of since meeting Arya.
Finally, a few weeks after leaving Vur Tepe, Chirrut and Baze had left aboard the BlazingMooka, both of them dropping Anakin on Sojourn to be with his mother, before heading out toward the Outer Rim, and Tatooine, where the ruling council had asked for some assistance with mysterious disappearances in the desert.
That call for help had only been the first indication of something strange happening all around the galaxy – and as weeks and months went by, it became clear just what was going on.

Not all planets were lucky enough to have Force users, or holy servants to help them against the still unnamed Banite Sith’s beasts, after all, and they had learned, from their complete failure on Sojourn, and half success on Kashyyyk that all out attacks weren’t the way to go – but rather fearmongering ambushes, in out of the way places and other dark alleys.
And after lying low for a while, they were now striking once more.
Mostly, Arya noted bitterly – in poor areas, and other planets barely acknowledged by the Republic.

In other words – in places where the Green Moon House worked the most.
Clearly, the still unknown Banite Sith had all but declared war on her and her people.
And the incarnate goddess had no intention of letting the stranger get away with it.

But the problem was – while trained Force users could, albeit with some difficulties, take care of the corrupted beasts, the most effective weapon against them remained holy servants, something this galaxy direly lacked.
And while the various local gods could, like the Old Tree had done, bless their children, it wouldn’t suddenly give those newly created holy servants the training they needed, and Arya alone going around the galaxy to train people planet by planet clearly wouldn’t be very effective.
Which meant she had to find a way to awaken a bunch of new holy servants and train them all at once.

“That’s… The sheer scale of godly power this would use would kill you.” Arkous protested first, remembering all too well how much those powers could harm her in her current mortal body
“It would.” she agreed, surprising both Obi Wan and him with how serious she sounded, “But this is something needed, not only because of that bastard we still haven’t found, but for all of the galaxy.” she pointed out, “So I’ll just have to find help.”

Suddenly, Obi Wan understood.
“You’re going to see the Father and his children, aren’t you?”
“I’m coming too.”
The three adults turned toward the area where their padawan had been going through the motions of their kata in silence, stunned to see Anakin watching them with a calm, yet unwavering gaze. And suddenly understanding while he'd come back to Tython before his mother gave birth.
“You’ll need me.” he said in the resounding silence, “Because of my other parent.”

“And I’m coming too.” Katliak agreed, adding, “Even if I don’t know how I can help.”
“Are you sure about this?” Obi Wan couldn’t help but check with Anakin, a bit worried, “You were looking forward to spending time with Shmi…”
“I had a bit of time.” the boy said fatalistically, “But this is more important.” he frowned, looking for the right words to use, “This is why my other parent made me, even if they want my happiness too. I have to help, you know?” a shrug, “It’s not your fault the bad guy decided to be annoying now, when mum is about to give birth.”

“We should probably warn the order. And the Jedi.” Arya mused, “After all, whatever we manage to do, they’re bound to realize that something happen.”
“And guess that it was somehow our fault.” Arkous completed, looking rather amused – after all, the Light Siders wouldn’t be wrong to assume as much, given all the upheaval the three of them had caused all around the galaxy, in a mere few years

¤.¤.¤

The ensuing talk with Yaddle, but also Dooku and Qui-Gon as representative of the Je’daii Order, and Yoda and Mace speaking for the Old Order, and Shmi and Xanathos for the Green Moon House, had gone about as well as expected.
Yaddle and Yoda were both seemingly unsurprised, yet highly amused, at the news that Arya and her two husbands were Force entities – in other words gods. Qui-Gon had looked fascinated, and barely refraining himself from drowning them in questions. Dooku merely looked intrigued, as if they were a particularly fascinating puzzle he’d finally had a major clue about. Shmi and Xanathos looked in awe, yet not that surprised.

“Well, you’ve created the yanariya.” the woman had been the one to mused calmly, “We already knew you were someone extraordinary.”
Arya had blushed – understanding well enough that the ‘we’ Anakin’s mother was talking about wasn’t merely her husband and her, but all of the Green Moon House and Amavikkan. After all, she’d started to feel it faintly, but growing more and more over time – ever since the couple had discovered her identity as Lavyanariya, maker of the shadow path. The familiar feeling of worship, which she hadn't yet felt in this galaxy…

Mace looked exhausted.
“So what you’re saying is that the Force was so out of balance that even… the gods… didn’t know what to do about it… But now that things are finally looking better, some sort of bastard Dark Sider has decided to play with things better left alone, and that the best ways to fight against those monsters is people given a blessing.” a sigh, “But of course, those people have all but disappeared from the galaxy, so you’re going to confer with… more gods… to try to awaken a number of them, all while giving them a vision about how to use their powers?”
“Sorry for the headache.” she said contritely, rememberin all too well how all the gods and mortals who had any talent as seer had react to her meddling in her previous life

“This!” he suddenly exploded, eyeing them with an accusatory glare, “This is why your shatter-points are so messed up! You both could completely change the Fate of our galaxy, or not have any impact at all!”
Surprisingly, the sudden realization seemed to make him feel quite calmer all of a sudden, and he leaned back in his chair.
“You’re always sowing Chaos,” he said, “but as exhausting and world changing as it has been, it’s also always been for the better until now.” he admitted, “I may not know much about gods and things like that. But I know when people are trying to do good.” a smile, “Go do what you can, we’ll hold the fort.”
And that was that.

They’d said their goodbyes to their friends, mostly by holo-calls, all of them faintly feeling that they wouldn’t be seeing them for a while.
None of Obi Wan’s friends had been really surprised, used as they were to see him come and go with the will of the Force ever since Arkous had taken him as a padawan, what felt like a life-time ago.
Padmé had been more surprised, but thankful for the warning that they probably would be out of touch for a while.
As for Arya – she put in on one last, quite visible appearance as Dasha Ellan at Sojourn’s second gathering under the Green Moon House’s leadership, having slowly passed over most of her responsibilities to Shmi and Xanathos Skywalker – as Qui-Gon’s former padawan had decided to take his wife’s name when he’d come back from Zygerria, having decided that he’d rather his child was born with the name of a freed slave, rather than the one of his corrupted family.

Not wanting to leave the galaxy without any warnings of things to come, should something happen, Obi Wan had also left a holocron with the Je’daii council, trusting they would know whether it was needed or not – a holocron not of Je’daii master Kenobi, but of the old, tired General and Jedi master Kenobi. Creating the item had been rather strange, as it made him realize just how different he was from the broken man who’d traveled through time after a life of suffering.
They left the SandwalkingMooka on Tython, and the UnfetteredMooka had headed deeper into the galaxy’s Core, following the welcoming call they all could feel by now. Leaving behind them the mortal realm, and eventually stumbling upon a familiar Tho Yor that was home to the Father and his Children.

“Welcome back, Shadow, War, Animus.”
The Father, naturally, already knew why they were here.
“After all the work you’ve put in to repair this galaxy, some sort of bastard dares to do this!” the Son, naturally, was incensed, as now that they’d ascended, he could easily feel the difference between Dark Side and corruption

Perhaps more surprising, even the Daughter looked displeased, “Our galaxy has finally started to leave the depths of the Abyss, and move back toward the Purgatory’s doors.” she told them – something that didn’t really surprise them, as even from within the galaxy, they could feel that things had started to take a turn for the better, “And this one idiot playing with dangerous things may well undo all this work.” a frown, rather unusual on the woman usually serene face, “We can’t abide one being, dooming this whole galaxy!”
Which is why they’d started to brainstorm themselves, wondering what they could do.

Like Arya herself had realized, the problem wasn’t only the lack of holy servants in the galaxy – but also their lack of training.
Blessing people to make them holy servants was something all gods could do, though naturally, each holy servant’s abilities would vary depending on the strength of the blessing, the gods' own nature, and of course, the holy servant’s innate talent and training.
But providing the training was far more complicated – as right now, beyond Arya herself only Katmalla on Kashyyyk, Daka on Dathomir, and probably a few other people here and there really knew anything about the true powers of a holy servant.
And interfering on this scale all around the galaxy could be dangerous if not done with multiple precautions.

“A bargain.” Arya had been the first to know what they had to do, far more used than the other to think as a mortal “A bargain for training.”
“But there’s no mortal to initiate the bargain?” mused the Father
While some bargains could be initiated by the gods, like the Wild deities had done in Arya’s previous life – it was only if they were affected by the bargain too, which technically wasn’t really the case there, as the corrupted beings were more a risk for the mortals than them.
Sure, if things degenerated too much in the mortal realm, they would be negatively affected too – but it was only an indirect result…

“We are mortals.” Anakin and Katliak reminded them as one, basic and Shyriiwook echoing oddly, “We can ask for a bargain in the name of all.”
“You may have to pay a heavy price.” the god of Balance warned them gently, worry clear in his eyes
After all — even the gods themselves didn't really control what went on during a bargain, they were just as much tributary to the magic that sealed the pact than the mortals, if not more.
“Then so be it.” the young boy agreed
“This is more important than merely us.” Katliak agreed, remembering all too well how even the best hunters had struggled against the corrupted Dark Side creatures before Arya had taught their priests and priestess how to fight

Little by little, a plan started to take form.

The Father, with his Son and Daughter, would contact all the gods awakened, and ask them to bless new children, as well as bless mortals attuned to their powers themselves.
Mana herself would be the one making the bargain and offering visions to those holy servants.
But since those visions wouldn’t be merely glimpses through time, but years of memories from Shadows’ own training as a miko, several life-times ago, along with the ways she’d started to adapt those lessons to this galaxy where even holy powers relied on the Force.
This was where the price of the bargain would come into play.

After all – a mortal’s mind and body weren’t meant to endure so much. The Father, with his power over Time, could somewhat speed up the visions, but the mortals would still age as if they’d lived through those years, to force their mind and body to cope with said visions.
In a timeless place such as Mortis, it was difficult to say how long they took talking through their plan’s details, then starting to reach throughout the galaxy, toward countless local gods.
As the Father spread out his powers, the Tho Yor started to grew, new corridors suddenly leading to other planets all around the galaxy.

One by one, gods had answered the call.
First, the one Arya, Arkous and Obi Wan had already met.
Then others, who’d merely felt the effect of their actions.
All of them, deities who’d more or less given up on ever saving their world, and themselves – having found hope once more.
Meditating through the Force with so many Force entities was mind dizzying, and Katliak and Anakin, as mortals – even one as powerful as the boy born from the Force – would have drowned in the ocean of power and knowledge, if not for Arya’s soothing presence anchoring among the storm, and Arkous and Obi Wan’s steadfast defense of their mind and sanity.
All around them, they could feel the gods observe the galaxy’s inhabitants, each finding different beings either lacking, or on the contrary, worthy of their own values.

Saarai, without any surprised, was quickly blessed by her immortal father, just like Anakin himself had been by the Force – or rather Mana, the woman he easily recognized as the familiar presence he’d felt all his life. How strange – to realize that, albeit in an entirely different way, his immortal mother cared just as much as his mortal one…

Arkous – or rather Animus, had quickly found a very familiar woman to bless, not surprising anyone who knew the spitfire that was Asajj. He also stumbled on a young pureblood Sith on Bogan, that he would leave out of the bargain given how young he was. He wasn’t really surprised – when he also felt some Mandalorians well suited to his gifts, most having never really trained in the Force, given the old enmity between Jedi and Mando, but far less hostile to the idea now than a decade ago
Obi Wan – War – had found himself drawn nearly despite himself toward the man with whom, once upon a lifetime, he’d shared a fatal fate with – and granted his own favor to Maul. Just like Animus, he also found a few Mando to call his own, Jango and Satine’s young daughter among them.

Shadow herself, though she had a priestess as a padawan, knew that not only was the girl already spoken for by the Old Tree – her powers as a goddess were also far too antithetic to mesh well with a girl who was so entwined with the Living Force as Katliak was.
Shmi Skywalker, on the other hand, was quite suited to her powers, the former slave having, like many of them, a rather intuitive understanding about Death, and the fact that it was as inevitable as Life. Of course, the woman wouldn’t be included in the bargain – not that she wasn’t able to do it, but rather that she had too important a role to play in the galaxy to afford to be in a coma for however long the visions would last. Arya herself would teach her in time – or maybe even her son.
The goddess wasn’t really surprised to realize that, all around the galaxy, many of those suited to her gift, were either members of the underworld, or Amavikkan.

Mana had immediately honed on a presence Arya was intimately familiar with, for all that she hadn’t seen her once in this life – Lily Potter, or rather master Fay, having such a love and understanding of magic, then the Force, that it was all but evident for the leading goddess of the galaxy.

On Ossus, an Ysanna priest had been chosen by the healed planet, but also a few among the Old Order, most notably among them Obi Wan’s childhood friends Bant and Bruck Chun.

As for the Grand Master of the Old Order – no one was really surprised when Yoda was blessed by the Daughter.

The Son had been eyeing Saarai, without much surprise, but had gracefully given the honor to her father. Instead, his choice settled on Xanathos Skywalker and Yan Dooku, two Force users who, just like him, had stared at the Abyss, and came back from it, learning the difference between darkness and evil – between Dark Side and madness.

Not too far from Ossus, Shadow was stunned to feel Voss, and more importantly, the way the planet had discreetly hidden itself away in the Force, leaving behind only the impression of an unimportant mining colony. There, all the mystics had been ready for the call – and among those, she’d been happy to notice, there were now Voss and Gormak alike.

One by one, gods found their people, and blessed them, the number of holy servants in the galaxy going from merely a few dozens to several thousands.
In this mental tour of the galaxy, a few things had also become startlingly apparent to Shadow, War and Animus — among those, the identity not only of Darth Sidious' current apprentice, but also of Darth Plagueis' second apprentice.
The first revelation — had left War all but seething.
The second had broke Shadow's heart, as she felt a well of grief so deep it had opened the way for corruption to creep in, suddenly making it quite harder to hold on to her anger again the orphaned girl who was behind the upsurge of corrupted creatures…
The three had pushed those revelations to the side for now, knowing it would be time to act on those later — as right now, the old godly magic of the bargain was starting to stir in the air.

¤.¤.¤

Anakin and Katliak had stepped forward, pouring into the Force all their wishes and feelings, the words coming to them naturally.
“Hear our call, listen to our plea. Help is needed and only you can grant it.”
But more than words, it was the images of dark creatures flashing through his memories, and those of other people, that he could feel was catching the newly awakened holy servants all around the world, as they intuitively felt something important was going on.

“What will you give up for this bargain?”
“Our Time, and our Life.” he pledged, the knowledge of why it was needed seamlessly circulating through the Force, all around the galaxy
He felt thousands of people he knew or not, each weighting whether they could afford to be a part of this.
Some, like his parents, couldn’t as they had other important duties – but most accepted, feeling that this was too important to refuse.

“Witnessed.”
“Approved.”
“The bargain has been struck
. Your bodies will sleep for one month in the mortal realm, for one year of training. But they will age a year for each month.
Anakin’s eyes widened, as he realized that rather than starting to live through Arya’s memories, like he’d expected, there were souls slowly appearing, all around them – those, he realized, were all the people who’d answered favorably when Katliak and him had started to call for the bargain.

Time, outside the mortal world, was all but impossible to measure, especially for mortal souls.
While their physical body wasn’t there, which meant then didn’t need to eat, nor really had bodily function, they still needed to rest, as somehow, they could feel, all the training they were doing with their soul was having a real impact on their body.
Some, who’d already have some Force training, were taking rather easily to that part of the training – but others hadn’t even been Force sensitive before. Or rather, not enough for it to be usable, since, just like the Jedi told, the Force was everywhere…
With people from all around the galaxy mingling like they were, friendships – and sometimes even more – had started to bloom while they learned through Shadow’s memories.

It had been rather strange the first time, when the world had started to blur around them, and they’d found themselves in a classroom where neither teacher nor students could see them – yet somehow, all could fit. But they had rather quickly learned that the dream world where the gods lived didn't answer to the same rules as the mortal realm.
They had spent quite a bit of time learning from Taishou Tsukiko’s memories, and alternating with putting these memories into practice.
The holy servants from different planets were soon helping each other, as they had no one else to rely on but themselves.
They didn’t see the gods – apart from Arya, Arkous and Obi Wan, of course, who, between the three of them, did what they could to help all the people they were teaching.

Rather naturally, Anakin had noticed, most holy servants attuned to the Dark Side had turned toward Arkous for guidance, those leaning toward the Light Side instead finding Obi Wan – while the few who, just like him, truly were balanced in the Force, followed Arya.

Once the memories of Miko training, but also a few about druids, shamans, and other kinds of holy servants from Adrasteia Potter's life, had been learned and assimilated, they had then been given new memories, less structured like lessons, but more practical, as they saw Arya Lunika learning about the Force, then about how to use her talents as a holy servant in their galaxy.
They hadn't simply been trained to be regular holy servants after all – but hunters of corrupted beings, and for that, they needed not only knowledge of the holy art, but also martial training, and of course, Force training.
By the end of it, all shared Anakin’s own awe at the incarnate goddess’ ability to adapt on the go, as they’d quickly realized that making holy powers work with the Force wasn’t quite as easy as she was making it look.

Naturally, the teachings of Mahoutokoro meant that all the holy servants had also realized that things were quite different in their galaxy than in the world Shadow had previously lived in – seeing a school with hundreds of students, and knowing it was only one of multiple around the planet, for a mere population of 9 billions all species included was rather staggering compared to the few thousands they were for a whole galaxy.
Impressively enough, they’d guessed about the Abyss by themselves – and though, for a while, some had rather naturally despaired, it hadn’t been difficult to realize that things weren’t as bleak as they feared.

After all – Lost their galaxy maybe currently been, there were still gods trying to save it, which was proof enough that things were going in the right direction.
Most of the holy servants had become inhabited by their mission after that, gaining a new fervor in their training, Anakin had noticed, feeling himself all the more hopeful as he learned and grew up among his peers.
Amusingly enough – no matter his keen insight, there was one thing that all but the boy could see among the holy servants.

And it was that while they tended to seek the guidance of the three incarnate Je’daii – at the end of the day, there was one mortal that was shaping up into a true leader among them.
While younger than many, Anakin had an innate wisdom and kindness that made him easily likable by all, a deep empathy that meant he’d befriended most of the other holy servants as time went by.
And a sense of duty and sacrifice that meant he’d had their respect even before they’d started to get to know him, as it was, after all, Katliak and him who’d volunteered to call for the bargain.
Of course, Katliak herself was well-liked too – but it was clear that the Wookie had no wish for a leading position, instead following her brother-padawan’s lead most of the time, though she was also able to talk and reason him when she didn't agree with him.

No one among the mortals really knew how much time had gone by – thought the Force was by now humming reassuringly in the back of all of their mind, telling them there was still some time.
But finally, they’d learned all they needed, and were ready to face their galaxy once more, all deeply changed, and knowing they had a hard task at hands.
Holocom frequencies and mails had been memorized, as no one had any intent to forget about the bonds they’d forged through their training, and finally, they felt the dream world start to dissolve around them, and their soul merging back with their body.

All around the galaxy, people started to open their eyes, after nine months of coma, putting an end to what had been dubbed the Aging Plague.
And in nine months, the galaxy had become even more chaotic.
Some had tried to claim that the strange illness was the Jedi’s fault once it became apparent that the rapid aging wasn’t the only symptom of the sudden coma all victims had fallen into. Less apparent at first, but evident once blood-works had started to be done regularly, had been the fact that all those who’d fallen into an unexpected coma, all around the galaxy, were also seeing their midi-chlorian count rapidly rising.

New grand master C’Baoth hadn’t wasted any time accusing the Old Order, weaving a tale of a misguided attempt at seizing power back.
Thankfully, not everyone was fooled by the man’s honeyed word – after all, the plague had happened all at once, the victims were from all walks of life, with even some Jedi among them… What kind of coup attempt had such unpredictable results?

Once upon a time, when the Jedi were still considered mystical beings with strange powers – the man’s tale may well have been bough without a second thought. But while they had now left Coruscant, the old Jedi had also spent over a decade changing their ways, opening the doors to their temple, and educating people about their real beliefs and powers.
What ensued were growing dissensions, not only between regular people, but even in the very heart of the Galactic Republic.

And while the thousands of holy servants were slowly coming back to the mortal realm, and their body, in the Galactic Senate, a life-changing session was being held.
With a majority of senators voting for a recall of the old Jedi under the orders of the new ones, in order to help against the other problem the galaxy was currently facing – the Black Beasts Onslaught, as the news channels were calling the increasing attacks of corrupted Sith beasts, that had finally started to impact the Mid Rim, and even some Core worlds.

“I’m afraid you cannot force us to do this.” Mace was the one to tell via holo-call as the motion was passed
“Are you refusing to help the people? Isn’t that your credo?”
“We follow the will of the Force.” the man corrected, “And we’ve already provided help regarding the Black Beasts whenever we could, and wherever we were asked to. But you can’t order us to mobilize under your orders. We are peace-keepers, not soldiers.”

“So you are choosing to desert?”
“We cannot desert.” Mace contradicted, barely refraining from rolling his eyes at the way the senator was trying to put words in his mouth and cast the old Jedi in a bad light, “We aren’t soldiers. Or are you calling all citizens to arms?” he asked pointedly, “And if you continue to try to push this, we will completely withdraw from the Galactic Republic.”
“And they wouldn’t be alone in this!” a voice interjected from one of the multiples pods holding the thousands of senators of the Galactic Senate, dozens of voices echoing their agreement

“I’m afraid the motion has already been passed.” senator Palpatine said in a falsely regretful voice
“Then the Senate has passed an unlawful motion.” a hard voice, making the man’s eyes widen in surprise as he recognized the voice of his queen, standing in the Alderaani pod, when she should have been back in Naboo and far away from his playing ground, “Not that we’d have been expecting any better from this assembly.” she added, disdain dripping from her voice, “After how you’ve ignored our people’s cries and refuse to punish our assailants.”
The Banite Sith barely held on his temper, as he realized that somehow, the queen had pooled the wool over his eyes, letting him believe she was ignorant of his recent political endeavors – when instead she’d clearly found other sources to learn the truth.

“You can take this as your dismissal notice.” she told his coldly, adding toward the rest of the Senate, “And you can take this as Naboo’s cessation notice. Our people have made their voice heard, and they won’t be part of this corrupt Republic anymore.”
Sidious was stunned as within moments, several other sectors had senators had stated their planet’s their intention to leave the Republic, in a move that proved it was something they'd been planning for a while. This was something he’d carefully planned for years, with the Trade Federation and other allies – a plan that had fallen into shambles because of the Jedi’s incessant meddling in the later years…

And now those he’d planned to manipulate had done exactly what he’d been planning to provoke! The man was torn between fury at the idea that someone had stolen his plot, and having his mind working overtime to start to take advantage of the situation. Already starting to see how things could be turned in their favor, he sent a mental nudge to his apprentice, who immediately started to speak.
“See, this is all part of the Old Order’s attempt at grabbing the power! And now that they’ve seen that the Republic won't be bowing to them, they are manipulating our very brother and sister planets, making them leave the safety of our institutions! How will they ever defend themselves, alone against the Black Beasts and all the dangers of the galaxy, without us to protect them?”

“Just like have before, when you were standing in your ivory tower and doing nothing.” queen Amidala bit back viciously, “By taking arms ourselves, and ask the true Jedi for help!”
With that, the queen was exiting the Senate, holding on to her emotions until they’d left the Senate’s building. It was only once in the privacy of Bail Prestor’s speeder, that she finally allowed herself a dry sob, as she left behind the last of the dreams and naivety of her childhood.

“What you did was very brave.” the disguised bodyguard, she’d asked for her protection to the Je’daii order in case her speech to the Senate had escalated in something more dangerous, told her solemnly
“I broke the Republic.” she contradicted him tiredly
“It was already crumbling.” the senator of Alderaan corrected her, “What you did is giving the rest of us the courage of following, and finally starting acting for our people once more, rather than playing favor games on Coruscant.”

“What I have done may well be the beginning of war for all of us.” she sighed, “But you’ve seen them, ready to treat the Jedi like indentured servants… Why would they treat us any better?”
“They will probably try to prevent you from leaving the Republic.” Quinlan Vos, her current protector, agreed, “But they won’t have any means to do anything about it just now.” he pointed out with a shrug, “It’s not like they have an army, is it? And the new Jedi aren’t so numerous that they can overthrow so many planet’s governments.”
“Still… I don’t know why, but one way or another, I fear this will come down to war.”
“Sometimes, it can’t be avoided. If it is for something we really believe in.” the Je’daii told her, still unusually serious

Padme nodded, still not happy about what had transpired, but determined.
After all, she’d done it once already – taking arms, to protect her planet, and her people’s lives. And no matter how much she disliked war, she’d do it again, even if it were to protect their rights rather than their lives this time. Though, she mused worryingly, the vision of her former senator's furious face engraved in her memories, it may well come down to protecting their life too, if the Galactic Senate continued on the ill-advised path it was currently on.

Bail had hugged her tightly, in a way that spoke of true friendship rather than merely political alliance, and the Nabooian queen had left Coruscant, and the Galactic Republic, perhaps for the last time, disguised as a spacer, with only a Je’daii looking like a smuggler for escort.
They were just about to enter hyperspace, when the ship’s holocom had biped, coming from a familiar frequency, and a boy’s face, now older than her, yet still having the same familiar boyish grin had appeared.

Laughing and crying, the queen suddenly felt like everything would be alright.
