Interlude IV. 7930.234 to 7942.421 CRC

Two Sith, a master and an apprentice, hidden in the shadows and honing their powers – to destroy the Jedi and turn the Republic Galactic into a new Sith Empire.

The Grand Plan was something a thousand years in the making, but Plagueis knew it would finally come into fruition under his eyes.
Or rather, that was what he’d believed.
Until that day, when the whole Force had sung happily, as if something tremendous had occurred – and everything had started to go askew.

Within a few years, the old, dying order, suddenly seemed to wake up to all they’d ignored before; their diminishing numbers, the way regular people didn’t know anything about them anymore, the way politicians used them rather than relied on their council like in the past…
All that had been carefully engineered to bring about their end, started to unravel.
And Plagueis and his apprentice may search and prod, the Force kept silent, never revealing who or what it was that was creating all those changes.
The two Sith reacted very differently to those new obstacles to the Grand Plan.

Sidious pulled himself even deeper in the Senate and politicking, doing all he could to hamper the Jedi’s revival however he could – with very limited success.
Plagueis tried to find an answer in the Force, delving more and more into his research in manipulating the Force within people’s body. It had yielded some results at first, as he’d been able to improve his midi-chlorian count, furthering his connection with the Force, and made some of his disciples into stronger fighters, with better regenerative powers.
Sidious, who’d never been as fascinated as his master with the biological aspect of the Force, had event accepted to help him, as both of them felt the balance shift more a and more as the year went by.
Together, the two Sith from the line of Bane attempted something mad and desperate – tried to create from all pieces a new being, powerful and born from the Dark Side’s powers. The attempt was a failure, comforting Sidious in his opinion that Plagueis’ research was more of a waste of time than anything – even if he wasn’t stupid enough to say as much in front of Plagueis.
Useless research or not, the apprentice still wasn’t ready to get rid of his master, after all.

Plagueis saw their failed attempt differently. Felt the Force itself rebelling against his experimentation, as more and more of his projects failed.
The Force, he was starting to fear – was working actively against them.
Not that he would let it stop him.
Plagueis delved into darker and darker projects, leaving all the most mundanes sides of the Grand Plan to Sidious, and instead tackling on the mysteries of the Force.
Finally, his projects started to bear fruit once more.
Giving birth to powerful creatures, so dark ever their blood could poison people, the Force an unstable maelstrom around them, and madness shinning in their eyes.
It was when the madness tried to encroach on himself, that he finally realized he may have stared too deep into the abyss.

Sidious had done all he could to hamper the Convocation of the Force – but he had to do so without putting his name on it, as it went against the public image he’d taken so much care into building. Thankfully, he didn’t lack for pawns to agitate the politicians in his stead; and even if he hadn’t been able to control the mystical event, that had once more stirred interest for the Jedi among regular people, he’d still been able to pull some things into motion…
If he couldn’t make the decaying order into the bad guys of the Grand Plan’s grand final, they would be its martyrs.
One way or another – the Jedi would die, and the Sith endure.
