History lost to time
Summary
This is a story about the history of the black family mostly made up by me myself and I. I wrote this to get over writers block
Note
I only wrote this because I love the trope/Idea that the history everyone/the world knows is actually incorrect and the real history is a totally different narrative.

Once there was a family. They were strong and powerful and loyal to the end and never gave up on anything. They were blessed with magic even when no one thought it was a blessing. They used to be burned at the stake and hunted down for their differences.

Until someone made a change. 4 young wizards barely of age. A 17-year-old girl, with brown hair whose loyalty couldn’t be broken. She believed in hard work and patience, she would never stop fighting for what she thought was right, and never stopped fighting for justice. A 17-year-old boy, with dark hair, and piercing gray eyes. He was brilliant like no other, could make plans at the drop of the hat, and surprised everyone. No one thought he could win, yet he would come out of nowhere and steal the title. An 18-year-old boy, with hair as dark as the feathers of a raven. He could talk anyone out of anything. He dreamed of reaching the stars just never in the way anyone else imagined. He was cunning and ambitious. Never giving up even though the odds were against him. Then the oldest, a girl, the knight in shining armor. She was 19, strong, and refused to back down. She had red hair and pretty brown eyes. She would help those in need even if it killed her. She could inspire anyone to keep fighting just with her smile. These four: Helga Hufflepuff, Rafael Ravenclaw, Salazar Slytherin, and Gemma Gryffindor. They inspired every witch and wizard in the world with their school.

Later when looking back on the history books you will hear different names and stories. You will hear about betrayals that never happened, and conflicts that were lies, all because the world was too far behind these 4 bright young minds. But that family I mentioned before, fidèlenoire,  as they were called. They will also be forgotten hidden under other stories and songs. They trusted these powerful wizards and witches. They helped them build their school and cement their history. They helped them teach and learn and grow. They hid them from those who wanted to stop this change and damn all the magical gifts to hell. They befriended them and loved them like family. Even as the rest of the world forgot about these bright young people, the book this family helped write and make still sits in their selves, collecting dust and ignored like the rest of history in favor of a new name and a new saying.

Toujours Pur meaning Always Pure, The Black Family Motto.

If the family cared to go far enough back they would see off all the muggle-borns and all the half-bloods fidèlenoire helped. See the way that family got the muggles’ who were born with an incredible ability out of their towns before they were burned to death, they would see how they helped teach the world how to accept magic and how it was for everyone. Alas though, The Black family could never be seen with a half-blood or a muggle-born on their family tree. It was not Toujours Pur, never mind their name used to mean faithful. So the family that helped introduce magic to the world was corrupted and the loyal and wonderful family they used to be faded into history along with Gemma and Rafael.

Now you might be wondering how a family so loyal could be the corrupt Black family everyone knows today. Well, The Fidèlenoire family was very powerful and very gifted in magic. They could do stuff people had only dreamed of. But power corrupts and this family was no exception to this rule. While this was not the Fidèlenoire who had been corrupted by their need for power. He was the first who succeeded in creating a new history and destroying the  Fidèlenoire legacy. His name was Sirius Black. If you fast forward a few decades this will be ironic, like the universe was laughing down at this family while watching its history unfold. In truth, the universe probably was.

Sirius Black was a powerful warlock, one of the most powerful wizards in his family. His sister Isla Black however was more powerful. She was cunning and smart but she also knew when to use her wits and not her power. She knew when it was time to give in instead of fighting back. She knew when to admit defeat and admit she was wrong. Sirius was the opposite, however. His pride is the death of him. He refused to back down even when wrong and wanted nothing more than to beat his sister in everything he did. Everything was a competition to see who was the strongest. He was angry and hateful and those feelings simmered under his skin until he snapped.

Sirius Black cut ties with his family because of their willingness to befriend the folk who he deemed weren’t built for magic. Those who didn’t deserve it. Most of these undeserving folk happened to be muggle-borns and half-bloods. Never mind he was a half-blood himself. Only two of his family joined him in this “cleansing of the bloodlines” his sister, Ursula, and his brother, Phineas. They left their family in England and went back to France to “become pure once more.” Isla went with them even though she didn’t believe in her brother's beliefs, she thought she could help him. She hoped she could teach him to accept instead of destroy. She would soon learn she was wrong.

While in France Sirius preached his idea of blood purity and surprise to all. Some bought it, but most didn’t. Through it all, however, Isla still tried to talk him out of it. She would try to tell him that it didn’t matter who their parents were as long as they could learn they deserved to. Yet he wouldn’t listen to catch up in his ideals and thoughts. She tried and tried, but as Sirius got more confident, more people bought into his ideals of purity and power. Isla, as unfortunate as she was fell in love with a muggle, and when Sirius found out he killed the muggle and left her alone in every way.

Isla ends out crusing Sirius and his siblings that day. She curses them so that they will never have a happy ending, cursed to die young or horribly until they have felt all the pain that she has. She curses them and their entire bloodline to be unlucky and marked by death from the day they are born till the day they die. Isla then goes into hiding, hidden from the world and her family. Sirius leaves France soon after, going back to England to sell his ideologies even though they’ve already spread there.

Isla lives out her days in France, heartbroken and alone. She dies alone and broken in an unknown town in France forever forgotten from her family tree and never known by the world. Just like fidèlenoire, Isla is never mentioned or heard of again.

So the Black family grew and grew. Until it grew into what you hear about today. All the stories of the abuse of power, the blood purity, the incest, the horrible and awful deeds. All steaming from one power-hungry man and those stupid enough to follow him. All that bloody and gory history is lost to time and the dark corners of the Black family library until a certain generation comes along.

You’ve heard of this generation, Sirius Black III, Narcissa Black, Andromeda Black, Bellatrix Black, and Regulus Black. They are the last generation, really if you look at it a certain way. Sirius Black joins the order and fights till his last breath, Narcissa Black marries Lucious, Andromeda marries Ted and gets disowned, Bellatrix marries Rodolphus and is insane in every way, and Regulus is the forgotten one, the one everyone thought they knew but didn’t. So the Black family ends and with it, a curse no one will ever know about.
