chapter 22
Loki was sitting on the little settee they’ve provided him in the cell. He was trying to heal his ribs, which had been broken. It was slow. His magic was still recovering and he didn’t have enough energy to sit.
Still he had put upon an illusion that he was pacing around his cell when the red-headed agent came.
He could smell the mediocrity a mile away. But there was something behind her, he could not figure out what it was or rather who it was.
It seemed that they were purpose fully hidden from him or his magic was so weak he could not figure it out.
“There’s not many people who can sneak up on me” He says tiredly, indirectly addressing his words towards the mystery. He then focused his eyes on the Red headed Agent.
She thought that his words were directed at her.
“But you figured I’d come.” She says hauntingly.
He smirks. “After. After whatever tortures Fury can concoct, you would appear as a friend as a balm. And I would co-operate” He says, clearly lying to her face. As if they’ve the means to torture him.
“I want to know what you’ve done to Agent Barton.” She orders. Loki huffs internally. As if she could order him.
“I would say I’ve expanded his mind.” He lies, he has not tapped into tessarect power completely, he doesn’t know what lies inside the cube. He just wants to be free from this thing in his head then he can study further what exactly is going on.
“And once you’ve won, once you’re king of the mountain, what happens to his mind?” She questions, folding her hands.
“Oh….. Is this love, Agent Romanoff?” Loki muses.
“Love is for children. I owe him a debt.” Natasha declares. Only if she knew the things people would do for Love
Loki is already bored with the conversation, but he has to pretend , needs to find out what she is here for. “Tell me” He places the illusion of him sitting down on the settee and the Agent does the same.
“Before I worked for SHIELD, I, Well, I made a name for myself. I have a very specific skill set. I didn’t care who I used it for, or on. I got on SHIELD’s radar in a bad way. Agent Barton was sent to kill me. He made a different call.” She explains.
Blah. Blah. Blah. He already knows. He just wants to sleep and figure out who’s hiding their magic.
“And what will you do if I vow to spare him?” Loki asks, trying to act interested.
He can feel the cloaked figure moving towards his cell.
“Not let you out.” She says.
“No, but I like this.” Loki says directing his words towards the cloaked figure as if they were playing hide & seek and it was Loki’s turn to catch the other. “Your world in the balance, and you bargain for one man.” Loki says to Natasha.
“Regimes fall every day. I tend not to weep over that. I’m Russian. Or I was.” She clarifies.
“And what are you now?” he asks, genuinely curious. Is she loyal to Nick Fury or in the league with ‘saving the world’ propaganda.
“It’s really not that complicated. I got red in my ledger, I’d like to wipe it out.” Natasha bargains
“Can you? Can you wipe out that much red? Dreykov’s daughter, Sao Paulo, the hospital fire. Barton told me everything.” Loki says angrily.
Before he could continue, the cloaked magic is fully uncloaked and the aura of it reached him in full force.
Draco asks Harry to misdirect the cameras and microphones placed in Loki’s cell and what Natasha brought. Draco hits her with a confundus charm and is disoriented a little.
Draco and Loki eyes meet, Loki’s mind feel clear after a very long time.
Draco apparates himself into Loki’s cell and hugs him tightly.
Loki breathes in the scent of his hair and feels relief.
“issa jorraelagon” (my love) Draco breathes a sigh of relief when their magic intertwines and feels complete.
Natasha returns to the consciousness and sees Draco inside the Loki’s cell but she is not sure what is happening. “Draco” she whispers.
Draco immediately turns towards her and hits her with an Imperious.
Natasha walks out of the cell rooms muttering about the ‘the hulk’.
“īlon jorrāelagon naejot jiōragon hen hen kesīr.” (We need to get out of here) Draco whispers softly in Loki’s ears.
