Chapter 18
As they reached the Helicarrier, Loki was quickly put in handcuffs and taken.
As if they could hold him.
Loki did not resist when he was taken, watching everyone with keen interest until his eyes rested on Draco, where the blue of eyes were completely gone.
Everyone except Captain saw the changes in his demeanor when he watched Draco.
Loki was silent when he was taken to holding cell.
He looked around the glass cell and the surroundings. There were metal bridges and the cell was particularly solid glasses. He could only presume that they were unbreakable.
Nick Fury welcomed himself and stood beside a device with buttons. And started speaking in his nasal voice.
“In case, it’s unclear, if you try to escape, if you so much as scratch that glass,”
The barriers beneath the cell opened and he could feel the air pressure.
“it’s 30,000 feet straight down in a steel trap. You get how that works?”
And then he closed the barriers as his one eyed was specifically train on the God.
“Ant” he gestured to Loki.
“Boot.” Gestured to the device holding the power of the barriers.
Loki couldn’t help but laugh at the mortals attempt to threaten him.
“It’s an impressive cage. Not built, I think, for me.” Loki said.
“Built for something a lot stronger than you.” Fury added his much unneeded input.
“Oh, I’ve heard.” Loki said and looked directly in the camera. He knew his every move was being recorded and watched. As he has learned much more from
Clint’s memories.
He needed that man to get angry.
“A mindless beast. How desperate are you, that you call on such lost creatures to defend you?”
Oh, How much he needed those lost creatures to get angry and defensive.
“How desperate am i?” Fury mocked.
“You threaten my world with war. You steal a force you can’t hope to control. You talk about peace, and you kill because it’s fun. You have made me very desperate.”
How hypocrite of Fury to talk about power, when he cannot himself fathom the true power of Tessarect, Draco thinks.
“You might not be glad that you did.” He threatened Loki.
“Oh, It burns you to have come so close. To have the Tessarect, to have power, unlimited power. And for what?” He mocks Fury.
“A warm light for all mankind to share. And then to be reminded of what real power is.” He glares at Fury. Even through the camera, Draco can see how difficult it is for Loki to stand, how difficult it is to maintain his illusion. He is certain that only he can see the pain etched on his face.
He shares a look with Harry.
He really needed to get Loki out of here. But then he saw a moment of content on Loki’s face. As if everything was falling according to his plan.
Maybe he needed to aid Loki in his plans rather than try to prevent it. Loki knows what he is doing. He is smart and he can play the game. Unlike other people here.
He rolled his eyes and sent his thoughts about this to Harry & Kaia through their mental connection.
Everyone saw him rolls his eyes and thought that it was because of Loki.
“He really grows on you, doesn’t he?” Dr. Banner asked rhetorically. Clearly amused with Loki, Like couldn’t care more of less about the impending war He was going to bring to the humans.
“Loki’s gonna drag this out. So Thor, What’s his play?” Captain asked.
Draco really hated his beloved’s name coming out of the Caps mouth. He wanted to cut his tongue off. Draco blinked at the sudden angry thought.
“He has an army called the Chitauri” Thor said hesitantly and looked at Draco as if asking if he could tell them the Details. Draco nodded.
“They’re not of Asgard, or any world known. He means to lead them against your people, they will win him the earth, in return, I suspect the Tessarect,” Thor said a bit convincingly.
‘Chirauri is an army of delinquents, they did not possess much intelligence and were always the followers. Much like the low-level Death Eaters and Nazi Germany. They are bought by someone.’
Harry shares with them through their mental connection.
“An army. From outer space.” Cap concluded.
Draco couldn’t help but roll his eyes again.
“So, he’s building another portal. That’s what he need Erik Selvig for.” Dr. Banner, already cutting to the chase.
“Selvig?” Thor asked.
“He’s an astrophysicist.” Dr. Banner said.
“He’s a friend.” Thor replied mournfully.
“Loki has him under some kind of spell, along with one of ours.” Agent Romanoff said
“I want to know why Loki let us take him. He’s not leading an army from here.” Cap said. Finally something relevant.
“He’s not leading the army.” Draco said. Gaining everyone’s attention.
“What?” Agent Romanoff asked.
“He’s not leading the army, he was given the army to fight against us, win the Tessarect for someone.” Draco said carefully.
“How do you know that?” Cap asked.
“Chitauri have a brute force but are nothing in intelligence, they can be wooed by a good fight. Which Loki couldn’t have offered them as he has more… indirect
approach to get what he wants.” Harry said. His voice deep, which sent shivers down everyone spines.
“How do you know about the Chitauri?” Cap asked. Honestly he sounds repetitive now.
Harry just smirked. Not everyone deserves to know everything.
“I don’t think we should be focusing on Loki” Dr. Banner started. Finally someone competent.
“Yes, We should focus on how the portal will be opened for the army.” Draco said firmly, diverting attention of everyone form Loki. He can literally hear what
they’re discussing with his advance hearing.
Unfortunately, Agent Romanoff did wanted to speak about Loki.
“He killed 80 people in two days.” She stated.
“That was the Tessarect on which the experiments were going on.” Kaia said suddenly standing behind where Draco was sitting, settling her hand on his shoulder in order to comfort him when she could feel his magic getting out of control.
“I think it’s about the mechanics. Iridium…..What do they iridium for?” Dr. Banner asked completely ignoring the subtle change of tides. But he did give Maria a curious look when she didn’t even blink an eye. Apparently knowing that Kaia knows this strangers.
And then Tony came. Finally with some answers and lot of distractions.
Tony indulged Dr. Banner with his science talks, which Draco didn’t understand, but Kaia was unsurprisingly well rehearsed in astrophysics.
Again, Maria was quite surprised when Tony lead the conversation but didn’t bat an eye when Kaia joined the conversation.
“And I’m a huge fan of the way you lose control and turn into an enormous green-rage monster.” Tony complimented seriously. Which did shook Dr. Banner.
“Thanks.” He said tight-lipped.
“Dr. Banner is only here to track the cube. I was hoping you might join him.” Fury ordered Tony.
And then turned his surprised eyes towards Kaia.
“Maybe you could join them too.” Fury said with suspicious clear in his eyes.
“I’d start with that stick of his. It maybe magical, but it works an awful lot like a HYDRA weapon.” Cap gave his input. In room full of scientists.
“I don’t know about that, but it is powered by the Cube.” Fury said. And they couldn’t be further from the truth.
“And I’d like to know how Loki used it to turn two of the sharpest men I know into his personal flying monkeys.” Fury said sharply. Sharpest men he know? Fury wouldn’t have met more intelligent people then.
“Monkeys? I do not understand” Thor asked confusingly.
“I do. I understood that reference.” Cap said.
Dr. Banner and Tony rolled their eyes. And Draco couldn’t help but snort at the stupid joke.
“Shall we play, Doctors?” Tony asked Dr. Banner and Kaia.
He nodded in Harry’s and Draco’s direction.
“This way, sir.” Kaia leaded them to what he would guess as Science labs.
Draco sighed. He needed to speak to Loki alone. Soon.
