chapter 14
Amora teleported directly to the Golden Palace of Asgard. While she cannot travel long distances between the realms, she can teleport with multiple intervals to Asgard. She had to teleport to Muspelheim from Nidavellir and all the asteroids in between in order to reach Asgard. As she cannot teleport directly to Asgard from Nidavellir. She was a powerful sorceress but not as powerful as Loki. Who can teleport literally wherever he wants to, as far as the whole Yggdrasil and the Cosmic Universe.
She quickly casts the invisibility spell on herself, knowing that she cannot hide from Heimdall’s sight but at-least she should meet Draco before Eirherjar comes for and demands the reason for her presence on Asgard, after her contemptuous departure from Asgard.
When Hela had pass along Her Master’s message that they need her help. She was doubtful, who wouldn’t be? When Goddess of Death and Her Master needs help that means there was crisis. But then Hela had told her that Loki is missing and the Asgardians have taken his consort as a hostage. That just won’t do in her eyes.
The Aesir thinks themselves to be the superior then anyone else. So, what if they are somewhat immortal? They have no right to Kidnap a human, Loki’s consort more so. They are meant to protect the humans, aren’t they? At-least that’s what Odin would always say. But she knows, Odin thinks that humans are not worth the sweat he spent in order to free them Frost Giants. If Odin could, he would’ve taken Laufey as his mistress and have Jotunheim under his feet too.
Her Father was one of the some Eirherjar who survived the battle with Jotuns. He knows the stuff Laufey had gone through because of Odin. When Odin refused Laufey the same dignity as Freyja, he still expected Laufey to bow down to him. Thus, Laufey became bitter and enraged and started this farce of conquering the universe. No one was innocent in that war. History is written by winners and as always, the other side, the one who didn’t win will always be considered as miscreants.
Amora likes Draco, He is the one who brings out Loki’s best without even trying. He is the one who first accepted him as who he is. Amora, Loki and Thor along with Warriors Three and Sif, were friends since childhood. Loki and Amora used to learn Seidr together while the other would learning battle schemes and to fight. Still Loki was a better strategist then they had ever seen.
Amora had seen the way Warriors Three and Sif would make fun of Loki because he was Seidr-master. It always left a bitter taste in her mouth. Amora had seen many suitors who would try to woo Loki, but they were always enchanted with his mysterious persona and his Silvertongue rather try to get know him. It always frustrated her to no end, that Loki would just accept this for a night of warmth in his bed.
But when she met Draco, it was like seeing Loki with a new set of eyes. He was happy and she was happy for him. After the humiliation she and her father face when Thor rejected her courtship for Sif, she was livid of-course. Sif was dull. Yes, she was beautiful, with all the golden-hair and her fighting skills. But really, Amora was way better at defending herself than Sif.
But Thor had to ruin her perfect proposal for courtship because of Sif, She had made rain blood on Asgard that day. Odin had obviously banished them. Odin had hit two targets with one arrow. He had banished another sorceress who could be powerful, hence eliminating the competition and He had made Loki alone.
Nevertheless, the spell would have ended in a day or so, Loki had extended it to last a week. They had promised to be in touch and meet every once in a while. That’s how Amora had met Draco. Loki was on Midgard causing mischief, as always when she arrived. She was accosted with butterflies all over her person, thousands no less, as soon as her feet touch the ground. Draco had been amused, had helped her get rid of them and then laughed fondly at Loki’s antics who had made her hair and ugly shade of red.
As soon as she reached Loki’s chambers, she reached out to knock only for the doors to be pulled open. Draco was there, wearing Loki’s cloths with a relieved expression on his face.
“Thank Merlin, You are here.” He said as he pulled her into the living room.
She quickly pulled him down on the settee. Less he started pacing again as she thought he was doing moments ago.
“What happened? Hela told me you were kidnapped, which by the looks of it, is not true.” She asked gently arching an eyebrow.
Draco sighed. “Hela has a habit of exaggerating things.”
“Like you do not.” She muttered and Draco waved him hands in impatience. “Okay, tell me what happened.”
Draco narrated everything from the day of Thor’s coronation to the day Odin tried lying to them. And Freyja’s truth. It was particularly entertaining the way Draco called out his lies and informed Thor the truth in most brutal ways. She couldn’t have done it better. As she looked out the window and see rains and thunders, she could only imagine the pain Loki went through. They never fit in with other Kids. But they were best friends, they were always there for each other in the times when they knew they couldn’t handle the bullying.
“I want to kill Odin.” They said at the same time when there was a lull in their conversation. They looked at each and cracked a smile.
Draco took a deep breath and looked at her. “I want you to teach me Astral Projection.” He declared.
“W-What? Why?” She asked, startled.
Draco showed her the ring with Loki’s runes. “I think it might be a way to see where he is, I can find him. With this ring and my bond with him I can at-least look for him. You can teach me how to invisible and inaudible to everyone else barring Loki.”
“No! Do you know how dangerous that is? Astral Projecting means you have the destination in your mind. If you are projecting through the cosmos without a proper destination your mind might get lost and you would never find a way back.” She said shaking her head.
“But, Listen, this ring provides Loki and I a link to each other. We can find each other through this link. Right now, the link at the end of the line is cold. If I could follow the link while Astral Projecting I won’t get lost.” He said restlessly.
“The Link is cold?” she said, horrified.
“Yes, He fell into the void somewhere, I told you that. I can’t think of a better idea then Astral Projection. If you have a way to find him then be my guest.” He said testily.
She just shook her, mind running mile a minute. The link never goes cold. If one of bonded dies then the link would simply vanish. When both the bonded are alive then the Link is always warm. This is something she has never seen. Astral Projection through cosmos without a destination is perilous. And even if they try Draco do not have enough power to look all over the universe. It will drain him completely. She was just about to voice his concerns that a knock came to the door. Eirherjar are here.
She looked at Draco sharply. “Do not try anything without me, do you understand?” '
He nodded meekly.
“I will be back. Just have to deal with Odin.”
She left with several Eirherjar following her. She knows her way to the throne room. Odin could try and send her back to Nidavellir. No way she is leaving without helping Draco. Odin could cry himself to sleep for all she cares.
