Chapter 1
“Izuku! Your a quirkless! you can’t be a hero!”
“Plenty of Heros fight quirkless mama!”
”I cant support this izuku!”
”Nobody does! But your my mother-“
“I won’t be your mother is you continue like this!! You’ve ruined my life already Izuku! Now you’re going to get yourself killed!?”
”..”
”...”
”wait- honey-“
That’s the last thing Izuku Midoriya heard before he ran out of the house.
He never expected to hear the one sentence he thought she’d never say to his face.
She was meant to be different.
“You’ve ruined my life already!”
The way she refers to him. ”A quirkless” like he’s not even fucking human. It’s always hurt him. She never noticed. He lived like this a long time, but every time he hears it, any good mood he has immediately drops.
Izuku had come home after the sludge villian attack, walking home a different way so he wouldn’t run into anyone. When he arrived at the door, his mama was quick to cry over him, telling him how fragile he is.
It made him angry. Nobody thought he could do anything.
He knew his mother wasn’t the best mother. But he’s quirkless, and she doesn’t hit him. That’s practically the best you can get in the quirkless community. He should feel lucky.
But he doesn’t.
All he feels is emptiness. Like he becomes numb to the insistence of his fragility from the one person who’s meant to be there for him. He becomes numb to the insults at school. He becomes numb to the physical beatings.
He knows his mama saw every injury, every burn form kacchan, but chose to ignore. She knows all about how life is stacked against him. She knows the suicide rates.
She ignored them.
She ignore the days where he couldn’t get out of bed.
She ignored him when he first said he was getting bullied.
She acted like everything was fine- but it’s not.
Now she has the audacity to say he ruined her life?!
That fucker.
She never even lets him have a life!
He was too fragile.
He had to follow her rules.
He had to get home before 4pm, he wasn’t allowed out, he wasn’t allowed online apps on his phone, he was only allowed his mother phone number- nobody else, he wasn’t allowed to watch “scary” villain takedown videos, he wasn’t allowed to eat too much- or too little, and so many more ridiculous rules!
So when she said he ruined her life, and not the other way around, he left.
He was going to go kill himself.
He was so goddamn done.
He can’t live like this any longer.
The spider-lillys on his desk, the everyday insults, the physical beatings, his mother policing his every move, All Might telling him to be realistic-
Well guess what.
Whats realistic for a quirkless person, is suicide before 20.
He ran out of the apartment, his mama just standing there. He took a piece of paper, a pen, and ran up the stairs.
a part of him wanted his mama to chase him. He heard a soft “finally” from his mother
tears pricked his eyes as he realise she’d been waiting for him to kill himself his whole life- so she could be free.
Words go over and over in his head.
Useless!
Quirkless freak!
Go take a swan dive and pray for a quirk in your next life!
Be realistic!
You ruined my life already!
He always had some little hope, but something just shattered inside him that day.
He loves loved his mama. Really truely loved her.
So with that pen and paper, he wrote;
Im sorry for ruining your life mama. I should’ve died sooner.
- deku
He places the letter in his pocket, and walked to the ledge. He was so tired. He can’t live like this any longer. Just as he leaned back, he heard someone yell,
”KID-“
—————————————————————
Shouta didn’t expect to find a kid on a ledge tonight.
He’s no stranger to jumpers- him being an underground hero patrolling at night makes sure of that- but usually he sees them early in the morning, around 3 or 4am.
So he didn’t expect to see a kid at only 11pm writing a short note on a ledge.
This was only a kid.
A kid who looked tired, and like he was in a rush.
Shouta didn’t even realise he was going to jump, until the child leaned back and fell.
”WAIT-“
Fuck! Shouta immediately used his capture weapon to launch himself forward, hoping to catch the kid.
He went over the roof, capture weapon only just grasping on to the child- and holy shit was the kid small.
As soon as he had hold of the child, he swung them both back onto the roof. He placed the child down, still having hold of him with the capture weapon, and looked towards the kid that was struggling against the scarf.
“Let me go.”
“Kid- I just caught you jumping off a roof. I’m not leaving you.”
The kid looked him dead in the eyes- god how did someone look so small and tired- and replied,
“Let me the fuck go. Eraserhead.”
The suddenness of the kid knowing who he was shocked Shouta, making his capture weapon loosen for a second.
But that second what all the child needed.
The kid worked his way out, and sprinted over the rooftop, jumping over everything in his way like he’d done this a thousand times before.
But as soon as the kid moved, it snapped Shouta out his stupid dazed state.
He rushed to follow the kid.
The kid that ran a path like he was familiar with it?
——————————————————————
Izuku totally sneaks out at night.
He was lucky to catch Eraserhead off guard by saying his hero name, something Izuku knew would work because the public isn’t actually meant to know underground hero’s.
Izuku wasn’t going to waste the chance to run, so he sprinted off straight away. He followed the path he usually takes each night he can get out.
He didn’t want to be caught.
He takes off, Eraserhead chasing him. He sprints over everything, jumping from rooftop to rooftop. Eventually he starts slowing down, tiredness catching up to him.
He suddenly gets scared that Eraserhead will actually catch him when he is suddenly pulled into a building that looks abandoned.
He startled at him getting pulled and made a small noise.
A hand quickly covered his mouth.
“Shhh! Do you want to get caught!?”
Izuku stiffened.
“I’m not going to hurt you, but in my experience, a child getting chased by someone usually doesn’t want to be chased. So I’m helping.”
They stood there for a moment while they heard Eraserhead rush past, swearing as he lost Izuku.
The moment Eraserhead left, the strange new man let go of izuku.
Izuku turned around to look at his saviour, slightly shocked at his appearance.
The man had large purple scars on half his face, and down his arms. They looked to be from burns. His hair was also obviously dyed black, with white roots starting to grow in. His clothes were obviously old and dirty, a sign of homelessness.
“So why’s a kid getting chased by a man in the middle of the night?”
Izuku looked the new guy up and down,
“He’s a pro hero. Eraserhead.”
“Oh shit. What’d ya do?”
“.... I don’t tell my life stories to fucking strangers.”
“Fair.”
They sat for a moment as Izuku caught his breath up.
“Who are you?” Izuku asked
This time it was the mans turn to check Izuku out.
“..... Dabi. You?”
No way that’s a real name, so Izuku chose the first name he could think of,
“Deku.” —————————————————————————
2 MONTHS LATER
Izuku had stuck around Dabi.
Dabi was a nice man, he decided. I mean, even if he threatens to burn him everyday and is quite sarcastic at times, it’s not like he’d actually hurt Izuku.
After that night, Izuku had snuck into his house with a spare key under the doormat. He went while his mama inko was at work. He grabbed all his important stuff, clothes, laptop, notebooks, some food, and left his suicide note behind.
He doubts his mother would notice anything missing from his room. She never went in there, She just locked him in his room sometimes because of how fragile he is.
Fuck her.
Dabi has been living in the abandoned building, having an under-the-counter job at a local club as a bouncer.
The club wasn’t the best place for a job, mostly being a place where drug deals go on, but it was the only place they could get.
Izuku had been trying to get a job, he didn’t want Dabi to waste his money on someone like him.
At first Izuku was going to kill himself again, but Dabi found him in a bathroom with a knife.
He just couldn’t Anymore, and sobbed as Dabi held him.
He was confused on why Dabi would care and felt like a burden.
Dabi was an aggressive person to most people, especially adults. But then he eventually he confided to Izuku that Izuku reminded him his little brother. But when asked more he wouldn’t say anything.
He was made to promise not to kill himself.
Dabi soon became like an older brother to him.
————————————————————————
Dabi doesn’t know why he chose to keep the kid.
He likes kids, but fucking hell, he is not suited to look after one.
Deku was very closed off, never speaking about his past. It reminded him of Shoto in a way.
It was very obvious something happened to the kid that night they met, but he wouldn’t say. It was only when Dabi caught Deku trying to kill him self that deku opened up a little. He said his life has been shit because of his quirk, but refuse to elaborate other then the fact he was physically bullied and his mother didn’t help.
It was a Sunday, the only day the club isn’t open, so Dabi was going to the club to pick up his weekly pay check.
The Pay check wasn’t enough to feed anyone for a week, let alone 2people but Dabi refuses to allow deku to feel bad. He knew the kid was looking for a job to help, but he didn’t want him to feel like a burden.
“Hey kid, I’m going! Wanna come or stay?”
Deku looked up from where he was laying, “I’ll come.”
It was fairly late, around 7pm, when he and deku walked into the club. Dabis boss, Yagami, walked up towards them.
“Ahhh Dabi! Here to collect the money?”
“Yessir.”
“Well come with me, I’ll give it. But I gotta talk to you about some changes coming.”
This worried Dabi a little.
“Okay...”
Yagami saw the look on dabis face and chuckled,
“Ah! It’s not bad news boy! Just some staff changes for our -ahem- other business you know?”
Ah.. the drug side. Dabi looked down towards deku who was standing next to him.
“Stay out here kid. I won’t be long.”
Deku nodded as he walked away with Yagami.
————————————————————————
Izuku was bored as fuck.
He only chose to come with Dabi because he had nothing to do, and now he was alone.
Dabi walked upstairs with his boss, so Izuku took the time to look around.
He didn’t snoop, knowing that wouldn’t be appreciated in a underground drug ring, but checked out the facilities.
It was quite impressive, and clean. He knew they actually ran the club like normal and got good business too.
Eventually he made his way to a stage, where the poles stood. Curiosity got the better of him and he started to check it out when a voice scared him from behind.
“I could teach you.”
Immediately izuku turned around, on alert.
“Sorry! Didn’t mean to scare you!”
Izuku narrowed his eyes.
“I was just saying, I could teach you how to use the pole if you’d like? Honestly I have too much free time and I saw you and thought- oh shit I’m rambling sorry.”
The new comer looked at izuku in interest.
“The names Shiori!”
“..deku”
“Not very talkative huh? That doesn’t matter! But would you want me to teach you?”
Izuku thought about it for a moment,
“...no cost?”
“No silly! I have too much free time and if anything you’ll be the one earning money if you decide to dance for it when you learn!”
This is what Izuku wanted.
“Deal.”
“Okay sweetie! Meet me here tomorrow morning around 9!”
She walked off.
Did that really just happen? She seemed new here, izuku hadn’t seen her any Sunday he’s been here with Dabi.
Soon after, Dabi appeared, looking at ease.
“Hey kid. Gonna be new staff around- don’t worry though cos they said I’ll keep my job because ‘my scars make me look scary” Dabi rolled his eyes.
Izuku laughed.
Dabi ruffles izukus hair- which was getting long at this point- and izuku leaned into the touch.
“So what’d you do?”
“I met Shiori. She’s gonna teach me to pole dance!” Izuku replied with a grin.
Dabi was silent for a moment, before burst out laughing,
“Oh shit- dude! I’m a fucking terrible older brother!”
Izukus heart warmed at him refering to himself as his older brother. It’s hard to believe it’s only been two months of each other.
—————————————————————————
Ever since Izuku ran away, he stopped going to school (obviously) but now he started meeting Shiori every morning. She likes to talk a lot and never seemed bothered that izuku was quite.
She told him stories of when she lived in the country, but wanted to be more.
He decided he like Shiori too.
Eventually, after a month of lessons, he became quite good. He still had lots to learn but Shiori was a great teacher, and he quickly mastered thing.
“Good job, bunny!! I think you could actually start dancing for real on stage if you wanted to!!”
Izuku perked up.
“For real? Do you think I could earn money?”
“Yeah! And with your long hair, you look older then you actually are.”
Shiori spent the morning that day explaining how the club business works, until finally Shen took him to Yagami.
“Yagami~!!!”
“Shiori.” Yagami nodded politely. Shiori is his best dancer so he made sure to be respectful towards her.
“I have a new dancer for you!!”
“Really?” Yagami looked at Izuku.
“Oh com’on! Give him a chance! I taught him myself!”
Yagami sighed.
“Sure thing. Oi kid, you up for dancing tonight then? I’ll pay, but I better see a good performance.”
Izuku jumped at the offer.
“Yessir!”
Izuku went home with exiting news for Dabi. His first job! Not exactly PG though.... oh who gives a fuck.
—————————————————————————-
“Hey bunny!” Shiori called over to him.
It was 10pm, and izuku and Dabi arrived to their jobs.
“Hey shiori!” Izuku grinned.
“Come with me, we gotta get make-up on and our costumes. And gotta give you a stage persona!”
“What’s your persona?”
“Angel dust! Do you have any ideas for yours???”
“....bunny.”
Shioris face lights up.
“Well let’s go! I’ll do your makeup then you can get changed!!”
Izuku went into the staff area, and shiori sat him down. She did sparkly gold stars down his cheek bone, and dark eye shadow.
The costume was interesting. He expected it to show off his skin so that wasn’t a surprise, what did surprise him was the bunny ears and tail.
“Oh! I added them!” Shiori called out. “As soon as you said your persona I thought it was perfect!!”
When izuku was done, he looked hot. He wore a black leotard with a black leather corset, gold tail and ears to match the makeup. It showed off his legs and his hair was half tied up.
Someone wolf whistled at him behind.
“Wow I am a really bad brother. Letting the little pole dance in such a naughty costume”
Dabi appeared through the door.
This is when Izuku realised he felt happy for the first time in months. He had a family. Dabi. A older brother. Shiori. A older sister. Even Yagami. An uncle.
“Good luck deku. Gotta head back out now though.”
Izuku has a wild smile, “Bye Dabi!”
—————————————————————————-
Izuku walks out on stage, a little nervous.
He’s with shiori (angle dust at the moment) and that makes him feel better.
The music starts playing, Pink Pony Club, a song Izuku relates too. As soon as he starts his dance, he gets into a trance. He love the way he moves, and can faintly hear cheering in the background. His moves are all smooth and he isn’t afraid of doing any moves.
The song ends, and Izuku has adrenaline through this body and he loves this feeling.
He and shiori walk out to the back.
“HOLY SHIT BUNNY!!! You were so good!! Everyone was cheering for you!!”
Izuku laughed nervously,
“I... really enjoyed that.”
Yagami walked up to them.
“Kid! Everyone loved ya! I’ll pay you if you do this every night!”
Izuku was dumbfounded.
“R-really?”
“Yeah kid! The crowed loves bunny!”
Izuku let out a real genuine smile.
“I’d love that.”
—————————————————————————-
Ever since that night 3 months ago, Shouta put out a look for a kid matching the one he saw that night. He knew there wasn’t much chance of finding him... but he looked so young and hurt.
He gets a message.
[Detective Naomasa Tsukauchi]:
This yo kid???? Video.attachment[New-dancer-Bunny]
Shouta looked at the video file.
He couldn’t believe it. Here was a child Pole dancing. And it was exactly the one he saw 3 months ago.
[You]: Yeah... Why the fuck is a child pole dancing.
Well. Now Shouta has to track down a green bunny problem child.
