Chapter 1
Ok so there's a forest in this chapter and no it's not the Forbidden forest near Hogwarts it's a different forest that Remus doesn't want Y/n or Layla near because there are dangerous magical & muggle creatures.
The sound of laughter fills a near by meadow where a cabin sits where the forest and meadow meet. " Come on Layla! Keep up!" A young girl with h/c yelled. " Awwe no fair Y/n you got a head start!" Layla whined her wavy hair bounced behind her head. " I did not! Your just short!" I replied. Layla playfully tackled you.
" Oh no the midget is doing to get me whatever shall I do?" I asked playfully. " Oi don't track mud into the house! Master Remus won't like it!" Pollo our house elf shouted. ( no offense to anyone who's short. I'm personally short myself. )
Usually Pollo was a very chill & sweet house elf. Even since my dad found he injured in the forest Pollo insisted he serve your father which came in handy for days like this when Remus couldn't find a sitter for you and Layla then Pollo would watch the two of you.
" Hey Layla want to go into the forest?" You asked. " I.... I don't know Uncle Remus told us not to go in that forest because there are dangerous creatures. " Layla responded. " Aww come on Layla where you're sense of Adventure?" I asked but Layla just shock her head. You manged to sneak past Pollo.
As you wandered deep and deep into the forest you came across a lake that looked like creatures however you didn't see the hippogrif in front of the path it was blended in with the trees deciding to go take a closer look you crept closer to the lake. When you got closer you saw a Phoenix and decided to follow it. The fiery bird lead you to may different and beautiful places in the forest. You spent about 2 hours in the forest and decided to go back home after exploring.
However you were lost not looking where you were going you bumped into a Hippogrif. Stumbling back you tried to run that didn't work and you ended up tripping over a tree root you shut your eyes tightly expecting hooves to hit you but they never came. Instead you felt a strong pair of arms wrap around you in a hug. " Hi dad." I said a bit sheepishly. " Oh Y/n..." Remus sighed. He shoot you a look that clearly said you're so grounded and we'll have a talk later.
" Come on Y/n let's get you home we'll talk after dinner. " Remus said guiding you back to the cabin. Dinner was awkward to say the least tension was filling the air the silence didn't help either. " So....." Layla attempts to start a conversation but it doesn't work so I try Instead. " So dad how was work?" I asked awkwardly. " It was fine thanks for asking Y/n" Dad said with a forced smile.
After dinner
" Layla do you mind going to your room or outside for a bit I need to talk to Y/n a lone for a bit." Dad said. " Of course Uncle! Pollo let's go outside for a bit!" Layla exclaimed Pollo following behind her. Pollo jumped trying to reach the door handle he got it .....eventually.
" WHAT WHERE YOU THINKING YOUNG LADY! ARE YOU TRYING TO GIVE ME A HEART ATTACK!" You're dad shouted pacing back and forth. Usually Remus didn't yell but when he did you know you fucked up. " I'm sorry dad. It won't happen again. " I said. Dad sighed. " No muggle TV for a week. " Dad said. " But da..... I started but dad cut me off " and don't but dad me. That forest is off limits for a reason . There are dangerous creatures in there and I don't want to lose you Y/n or Layla. " Dad said.
" Only Merlin knows what I would do if I lost both of you. " Dad continues and I gave him a big hug which I think caught him off guard since he stumbled back a bit before hugging me back. " Now why don't you go get Layla & Pollo and get really for bed hm?" Dad asked I nodded and ran out to get them. However as I open the door to call for them I felt something muddy hit the side of my face.
" Ha got you! " Layla yelled from a distance away. " Oh it's so on!" I yelled back Oh how time flys when you're having fun I completely forgot we were supposed to be getting ready for bed until dad called us inside with Pollo standing right next to him. " Opf looks like you two will have to take a bath or shower again. " Dad said. " I'll go take a shower real quick because I know Y/n will want to take a bath. " Layla said.
Once I had taken a bath I settled into bed not knowing that tomorrow I would get a letter that would change my life forever for the better.
