Chapter 21

20 minutes later and the boys had still not made themselves decent. Harry apparently found it far more productive to trap Draco in his arms and glare whenever Granger had tried to bring up the subject of the bond.

Finally she said, “I’m not going to dissolve it,”

This didn't seem to comfort them much.

“Truthfully after…” She looks between the two and the objects laying on the floor, “What happened, I’m not sure it would work.”

“What do you mean by that?” Draco asks, not seeming all that phased at this point other than a slight blush.

“I think it would do more harm than good if we tried to separate you guys at this point, if I’m right attempting to separate the two of you would likely send Harry into an extremely depressive state, maybe even murderous.”

“Nah,” Pansy finally says, for most of the conversation she had just been silently laughing, “The golden boy doesn’t have it him.”

She doesn’t say that when Draco is involved he most certainly does.

“This is a weird situation,” Harry says, still speaking lethargically, “I don’t think it matters much if I ‘have it in me.’”

“It doesn’t matter anyway, we’re not opting out of it,” Draco says firmly.

“But it’s important to know you’ll never be able to be far apart-“

“We did talk to Mary and Maureen.”

“What does that have to do with anything?”

“Maureen’s a werewolf, they were bonded and they had been for 26 years.” Harry supplies, “I feel like they might be a better place to get information than whatever books you’ve found.”

Harry sighs, “Sorry, I really don’t mean to it’s just all I can smell is Draco and-“ he cuts himself off, “Well you smell like you’re not supposed to be in here.”

“We can go somewhere else if you’d like to put a shirt on.” Pansy snarks.

Harry looked conflicted, “But the smell will fade,”

“Yeah and then you can stop being territorial over a room.” Pansy refutes.

“Parkinson,” Granger mutters, “I think you’re being a little insensitive,”

“He’s going to have to learn to cope, because unless he wants to tell the world he’s a werewolf, people are going to be insensitive unintentionally, and if he does tell the world they’re just going to be insensitive because people are dicks.”

Granger and Pansy turn toward Harry, staring expectantly after the obvious call to action.

He stares forward for a few moments, “I’ll tell them.”

His voice is quiet but the intention behind the words were real. Harry unwraps himself from Draco and walks out.

Still completely shirtless.

***

When a shirtless Harry Potter trailed by Draco Malfoy started talking to her girlfriend, Ginny didn't know what to think, especially when he started asking Luna to write an article in The Quibbler about him being a werewolf.

She is not nearly as surprised when she agrees and starts the interview in that moment, not even blinking at the lack of shirt nor the disorganized Malfoy behind him.

He fervently forbade her from writing anything about how he was turned instead choosing to answer questions about the path he took to self acceptance and the support he had along the way.

Draco however is obviously livid when he’s pulled into the photo that Luna takes but it dissipates when Harry pulls him into a hard kiss.

***

To Harry’s surprise the main topic in the articles are not Harry’s lycanthropy, at least not at first. Most articles focused on his relationship with Ex-Death Eater Draco Malfoy with a light sprinkling of one of two opinions on him being a werewolf.

That he could be an important figurehead for creatures everywhere or Harry Potter has changed and now would have sided with Voldemort during the war.

Draco burns those ones.

Harry also received mail, more mail than the end of the war almost. Sometimes howlers or things meant to hurt him. Sometimes werewolves explain what an inspiration he is to the community .

Sometimes he’d write those ones back thanking them for thinking of him that way but explaining that’s not why he did it. He stopped when one of his letters were posted in The daily profit.
