They stared at each other, eyes on fire until Draco couldn’t take it anymore.
“If you’re never going to forgive me, what are we doing here?” Hermione looked away, arms crossed and bottom lip pulled between her teeth.
She didn’t respond.
Draco surrendered, tired of fighting. “Fine. I always said I wasn’t worth your time. But for me, every second with you was worth more than all the gold in the Malfoy vault. Gringotts could threaten to burn it and I wouldn’t have cared, not if I had you. I deserve your hate, I’ll gladly live with it. But I swear, I’ll burn the moon and stars from the sky if anyone tries to make you feel less than again.”
Before she could respond, he was gone.
