Chapter 5
Maybe half an hour after Yomi leaves, Kaorin wakes from a short nap, feeling just a bit better, and hoping that whatever happened wasnt a dream.
Sakaki: "Ah, you're up again. Did you sleep well?"
Still the same position, still the same house. Still the same Sakaki she loves to be around, continuing to let her rest against her. It wasnt a dream after all.
Kaori: "I-I did, thank you miss Sakaki, i feel a bit better now and it's thanks to you..." she continues to dreamily stare into her eyes like usual. "I-I just hope my little sickness didnt annoy you or make you feel like you missed out on fun..."
Sakaki: "Oh, I wouldnt say I missed out on too much. In a way, this was pretty fun too..." she catches herself blushing just slightly and looks out the window to try and hide it.
Kaori: "That's-... Good..."
Kaori leans against Sakaki a bit more, wondering if moving is a wise idea considering how rare this opportunity may be. She also softly hooks her arm around Sakaki's, to which she responds by blushing again and putting her other hand on Kaori's softly, holding it to comfort her. As much denial as Kaori is in right now, this isn't a dream. She looks up at Sakaki one more time, wondering what she could possibly be thinking about, until Sakaki suddenly starts looking back again. Panicking again, Kaori starts to sweat and shake a bit. Noticing this, Sakaki decides it's time to comfort her again, so she leans towards Kaori softly and gives her a little kiss on the forehead.
Kaori: "Whu-h-ah-eh-uh-wha- wh- t- chh- did-..."
Sakaki: "A-are you... Ok?"
Before she can ask anything else, she suddenly starts tearing up and shaking more, not being sure how else to react.
Sakaki: "Ah- Kaorin- what's wrong-? Did something happen...?"
Kaori: "N-no, miss Sakaki, I just....." 'What are you, stupid? You can't tell her how you feel, definitely not yet, that'll only make things awkward. Just make up a lie or something and apologise for it later.' "Uhmm... I-I was thinking about... Um... H-homeless cats who don't have any owners to look after them!"
Sakaki: "..." she turns Kaorin's head to look at her and looks deep in her eyes. "That is not what's going on here. Tell me the truth, did someone hurt you?"
Kaori: Her heart starts to flutter with butterflies as she tries to compose herself enough to get even a single word out. "I-I just- I- um-... I've never... Had a kiss like that before..."
Sakaki: "I-it was only a forehead kiss..."
But to Kaori it didn't matter. To Kaori, this is enough to fuel a lesbian shaped jet plane for a thousand days. To Kaori, this was the most progress she's made in the last two or so years. To Kaori? This was everything. She hugged a bit closer to Sakaki while she had high hopes for the rest of the trip.
