Another Star joins the universe
A white Ford Mondeo drove up to the front doors of Hogwarts School, when it stopped a older couple got out the car, and the couple climbed the stairs to the main entrance. The woman was walking with a walking stick it was obviously she mobilising with great difficulty and pain, and had balance issues as well. A house elf met them at the entrance hall and politely bowed to the couple, and respectively asked why they were there. The woman smiled which was filled with grief and said they were here to see the Student Severus Snape, the elf clicked his fingers and another younger elf appeared and the elf passed on the request to retrieve the pupil Mr Snape from the Slytherin Common room. The older house elf politely guided the couple to a small room off the main entrance hall.
The woman sat down in one of the chairs provided, her husband wandered around the room agitated. The woman shook her head, it always seemed to people outside their families that her husband never showed emotion. But the woman knew that he did and it was always small things that gave away how emotionally he actually was.
There was knock on the door, and the younger house elf ushered in Severus into the room. Severus broke into a rare smile when he saw his uncle and aunt, his aunt was the oldest child of the Ancient and Noble house of Prince.
There had been four children in the Prince’s family, and his aunt was the eldest, then followed by her two brothers and then last his ma. There was 10, 12 and 22 years between his aunt and the rest of her siblings. She had married his uncle, and his uncle was very rich. He had started a computer company with two other friends from another big national electronic company. He didn’t actually know what the company produced, but the company had made him at least a millionaire when he retired.
He loved all his extended family but especially his aunt and uncle, he loved it when they with or without the rest of the Prince’s family visited his da and grandparents.
It had seemed to outsiders that Lilly had always looked down on his family, people naturally assumed that Lilly and her younger sister Petunia thought that they were as ‘poor’ as his da and him (but this wasnt the case as her if family was poorer than his). She thought they were just ‘normal muggles’. But he knew they weren’t, and they had fact at times ‘loaned’ his da the money they needed to survive. They had financially paid for him to come to Hogwarts. He knew that they would have been more than happy to give his da money for them to have a easier life. But his da like his ma’s family the Prince’s were very proud, and made enough money working as the farm manager on Standalone Farm, a farm that was run for people and especially children to visit. His da and him had a reasonable comfortable life with his da salary.
He knew his aunt hated his best friend Lilly Evans. Severus thought it was a shame as Lilly always had difficulty interacting with other people and especially adults. It wasnt Severus place, Lilly had told him to tell her and Petunia problems to other srrangers. Lilly had met his Aunt and Uncle when he was staying at his pa’s nans and granddad’s house one weekend. He would very often go to his nan and grandpa’s after school, and to the local Boys Brigade and Scout troop. He spent some weekends there as well, especially when the farm was busy, with all employees including his da, the Harvesting or sowing the grain etc. Well one weekend Lilly had come visit him at his nans, and she had unfortunately met his aunt and uncle.
When he had come in from playing with Lilly that day, his da was in the kitchen with his grandparents and his aunt and uncle reminiscing over memories of his ma. His Aunt had asked if he would go with her to get the special treat of fish and chips (with mushy peas of course).
While they were in the car Severus had one of his aunts ‘important’ conversations, he never had one before (they only happened in the car normally). They got to the fish and chip shop, and before they got out of the car his aunt started to talk to him. Well the long and short of it was (as his da would say), that his aunt intensely disliked Lilly, Severus thought hatred would be a better word. She would never stop him from being friends with Lilly, but she asked him what had they played that day? Severus admitted that he had assisted Lilly with their homework, and that for most of the day he had actually hanged out with her younger sister and best friend Petunia, and Petunia's friend Vernon who was visiting his grandparents that weekend. He actually lived near his favourite aunt and uncle in the whole world! While Lilly had gone to visit her girl friends from their school and sleep over night at one of the girls homes.
In his aunt's opinion Lilly was just using him for his intelligence, she had also commented that Lilly obviously thought her bloody sh*t smelt like roses (it was the first and only time Severus had heard her swear). According to his Aunt, Lilly was just using him for what she could get out of him! She had then told him in confidence that after much discussion between his da’s and the Prince’s family, it had been decided he could attend Hogwarts. It had apparently been a close thing, and he was so glad he never told anybody in either family or his pa that Lilly was going to go as well. Because he now knew absolutely, that both families would never have allowed him to attend if they knew his best friend was going there.
Apparently his ma family the ancient and noble house of Prince was going to pay for Severus to attend Hogwarts. Severus was also going to stay with his ma family (his uncle and aunt, but visit the rest of the Prince’s family) for two weeks during the summer holiday. Everybody in his muggle family (including nan and granddad) would of course still stay and celebrate together the magical Yule day celebration and Muggle Christmas day with the Prince family
But to Severus horror and grief both his da grandparents had died. His grandad from cancer when he was ten, and then his grandmother from a kidney infection (although she had advanced dementia) when he was ten.

Severus love both sides of his extended family, the Princes were an Ancient and Noble family that had been happy for his ma to bond with his da. Apparently his ma had fallen in love with his pa, after she couldn’t bond with her first teenage crush and best friend from Hogwarts.
Eileen Snape was the youngest daughter of her parents. She would not be left anything substantial as the Prince family although Ancient and Noble was poor. she had as been stated had two older brothers , and a sister that were older than her.
Severus ma had always admitted to Severus, that she had been lucky to attend Hogwarts school. His grandfather had been only able to pay and send Eileen to Hogwarts, with the full scholarship given from a national paper. His grandparents only had to pay for her uniform and other school supplies, and his ma had said that had been to expensive for his grandparents to afford
She had first been betrothed to her first love a half blood Slytherin named Tom Riddle. But just before the bonding when she had graduated Hogwarts, Eileen had become seriously ill. The Princes family doctor had referred her to St Mungo’s, where they diagnosed her with a curse that was slowly killing her painfully They diagnosed that his ma was most probably barren from the curse’s effects, the curse was not only eating her magical core but was also like the muggle disease motor neurone disease.
Tom Riddle had begged his Grandfather to still be allowed to bond with Eileen, but she had broken the betrothal. She had stated to him, that he needed to find a witch that would be able to give him children and a heir to his family line the Very Ancient and Noble family Slytherin.
When his da had fallen hard for his ma, she had told him the truth about the curse she suffered from. The fact that she was barren, and her life would be a very short and painful life even for a muggle let alone a witch. But his da had fought with his ma, to still marry him. But she had refused out right, then a miracle had happened, and he had been conceived. His da and both families had been ecstatic at the news, and his parents had a small but lavish wedding.
His da had always said that Severus was the miracle for him! As it meant that he was bonded to the woman of his dreams and who he loved. But that he had a handsome, wonderful and intelligent son! Lord Slytherin aka Tom Riddle had even come to his parents wedding, and had been adopted by both families.
His ma had died after six short years of marriage, his da and him had both been devastated at the time. Even now Severus knew that they both missed his ma, his ma had with the assistance of his aunt made a memory box! This box had contain items that his mother had either brought, collected and been given over her life. Each item had a different memory attached to it, there were old magical toys, her wedding dress, school course books, her essays etc. Even his ma’s old wand was in the box, which his aunt had taken home with her after his ma funeral. She had explained that she was worried that Severus would accidently either hurt himself or do irreversible damage accidently by ‘holding it’, it had been nice to find out that his ma’s wand had chosen him to bond with again. Also his ma with the help of his aunt had written a card with a letter to him and his da, for every birthday, wedding anniversary, Christmas and Easter. His ma’s familiar a Kneazle had bonded with Severus after his ma died.
Severus aunt patted the chair next to her for him to sit down, she looked at his uncle who had redden botched eyes. They silently communicated between themselves and his aunt sighed to herself before starting to say to Severus gently “Severus love, we have some very bad news for you!”
Severus just looked at his aunt and nodded at her, while he started to pick at a fraying bit of cotton from his robes arm, she put her arm around him and continued to speak gently “Severus, em…..I am afraid that your pa died this morning in Hospital! Trevor, found him unconscious in Oswalds cage (a very tame turkey, that Severus could hand feed under the supervision of either Trevor or his da) the ambulance was called, and they quickly took him to the Hospital. I am sorry Severus, but your da died in the Hospital just after he arrived. The Doctors and the Nursing team in the A&E tried everything, but it seemed he had a massive heart attack, and this is what caused his death”
Severus started to wimper and sob while saying the word “ No” over and over again, while his aunt held him close.
She waited for him to stop crying temporary, and then continued in a calm and soft voice “Severus! Because your da parents are unfortunately dead as well, me and your Uncle are going to look after you now!”
Severus now climbed onto his aunts lap, and she continued to hold and hug him, while she informed him of the arrangements his ma’s brothers were making concerning his da’s funeral.
His aunt suddenly looked up and exclaimed about the noise coming from outside the room “Oh f**king Merlin! Someone’s winding up your uncle”
The door opened, and Severus uncle appeared in the room. In one hand he carried Severus Kneazle and spoke into the room to them “Just had a run in with Attila the Hun out in the corridor! Even after explaining about Severus dad, she was going to stop us from taking Severus home with us. Apparently according to her, Severus needs to be here to continue with his schoolwork and only needs to go home on the day of the funeral! As the school facility can help Severus cope and grieve about the death of Severus dad. I managed to make her see sense about Severus coming with us today, this McGonagall teacher is apparently the deputy head mistress at present. I am sure Craig (his uncle and third child) can have a word with Leo when he next cuts his hair or has dinner with Leo and the family, hopefully that means Attila the Hun might not be employed at this establishment for much longer. The house elves have kindly packed some of our belongings you will need, and put them in the car for us! So shall we go then"
