The one where they meet the Boy-Who-Lived

“I still can’t believe you don’t drive this beauty every day.” I commented while admiring the pristine interior of the E12 BMW 5 Series, how they can not drive this every day is something that I'm having a bit of trouble understanding.

“We’re wizards Son, we don’t really have a need for them you know”

“I'm not talking about that, you’ve never taken this thing out for a spin just for fun either. What is the point of owning this amazing piece of technology if you’re not gonna enjoy it??”

“It was a gift for your mother really. But she never takes her out”

“I do!” she’s not even driving the damn thing!

“I’ve been with you for 3 years mom, and in all that time I've never even heard of this car.”

“It is not something you really want to discuss with a toddler now is it”

“I would’ve loved it!! Make sure you talk about them to the next one”

“Next one?” My grandfather asked eagerly.

“Yeah, next one!” I'm gonna encourage it as much as I can!!

“No next one! Once was enough for me” rude.

“We’re on our way to get another one you know.”

“I meant giving birth”

“No vagina, no comments” I was never able to learn math from my dad but I did learn life lessons from him. This particular one was slapped into your brain I think. ‘I didn't think that the joke was gonna make her cry’

“Smart move” chimed my grandfather,

“Hmm alright we are close” I said noticing the signboards

“Yeah I can see that. I don’t know why you’re so nervous about all of this.”

“I'm not nervous, just trying to figure out if this is gonna affect my plans. This is a big change in the timeline.”

“But it is a good one” she asked hopefully

“It depends”

“On what?”

“It depends on what kind of person he’ll be after living with us.”

“Are we not better than Dursleys?” My grandfather asked with amusement, of course anyone will be better than them.

“We are but I can't help but think that it was only because of those harsh conditions and people that he turned out so good.”

“I don’t think so, lad. I think he turned out good because he is a good person. Him living somewhere else, somewhere better won’t change it. It is true that circumstances change the way we look at the world, but it doesn’t change who we are.” he’s not wrong there.

“I hope you’re right. I really do.”

“Well here we are.” we came to a sudden stop which pulled me out of my thoughts.

“Remember to keep your tempers in check.” I don't know why I'm reminding them that, both of them are true Slytherins. If there is one thing they are good at then it’s occlumency.

“Will you be able to follow your own advice?”

“Why do you think I'm letting you both handle this?

“Because you are a 3 year old child.”

“Just a factor”

Reaching the door my grandfather schooled his expressions and knocked on the door, and finally after a few seconds hors- I mean Petunia opened the door.

“Yes?” She observed all three of us but I doubt she figured out anything about our magical heritage.

“Good afternoon ma’am, I'm Rust Fall, this is my Daughter and my grandson. May we step inside? We have something we wanted to talk to you about.” It is a bit jarring to hear my grandfather so full of authority and so professionally.

“Yes please come in”

“Thank you for the hospitality”

“Can I get you anything? water, tea?” she asked while directing us to the living room.

“It’s alright, our business here won’t take long.” finally the walrus- I mean Vernon came in.

“This is my husband Vernon.”

“”Hello Mr. Dursley.” my grandfather stood up and Shaked his hand.

“Hello Mr.-”

“Fall, Rust Fall”

“How can I help you Mr. Fall?”

“We’re actually here because of your nephew, Harry Potter.” God damn, the surprise on their face does not disappoint, like at all!

“You’re one of his kind?” Petunia asked in a little strangled voice.

“We are members of the wizarding world if that’s what you’re referring to.”

“What do you want?” Vernon was as hostile as he can get without shouting out his words.

“We’ve recently discovered that Mr. Potter is a distant relative of ours, and the peculiar nature of our family requires us to look after him until he reaches adulthood.”

“What do you mean by the nature of your family?” Petunia asked, maybe she understands a bit about family magic.

“I'm head of an old family line known as the Peverells and our family magic dictates that as the head of the house I need to look after my family, which includes Harry.” my mother finally spoke up and somehow she sounded like a bloody royalty. I have to learn this.

“But what about the protection that he gets from living here?”

“We have already added better protections to our manor. I’ll be frank with you Mrs. Dursley, the only reason he was sent to the muggle world was to protect him from going into the hands of darker families, it was a possibility because he is the last of the Potter line with no other family in the wizarding world. But now that we know of our connection we can bring him into the wizarding world again without the risks.”

“Alright we’ll pack his stuff.” this was so easy that I want to actually banish their hearts right out of their chests, how can you just let a child go with someone you’ve just met. There is a reason why we’re getting Harry out of this place.

“Where is Mr. Potter by the way?” My grandfather asked, looking around as if to point out the lack of children.

“I’ll bring him” and with that she hurried out of the room.

Only a few minutes later Harry finally came into the room and the Devil below!! The kid looked even smaller and skinnier than I could've imagined. He was wearing clothes a little big for his size but they were loose because of his skinny frame. He had a very thin face, knobbly knees, black hairs and bright green eyes. He was looking at us with curiosity and badly concealed eagerness.

“Hello” he greeted in his little squeaky voice.

“Hello Harry, I'm Chloe Fall or in your case Aunt Chloe, it’s very nice to meet you.” This time my mother’s voice was warm instead of cold and professional.

“Am I going with you?” so this was the reason for his eagerness, he was either listening in or this bitch Petunia told him without missing a beat that someone is here to take him away. But the kicker is that the child is eager instead of being afraid…. If this is not a big red flag then I don't know what is.

“Yes you’ll be coming to live with us. Is that alright with you?” clearly my mother and I are on the same page if her strangled voice is any indication.

“I guess so.” Everyone can clearly see that he can barely conceal his excitement.

“Excellent, by the way harry this is my son and your brother Cassius Fall” at this I came forward and did my best to make my smile friendly and inviting.

“Hey harry”

“Hi” he replied shyly but it didn’t dampen his giddiness, which was sort of infectious actually.

“Is this everything Mrs. Dursley?” My grandfather moved forward and asked Petunia eyeing the bag in her hand.

“Yes it is”

“Then I guess we should take our leave now” he announced, gently taking the bag from her hand. And with that we made our way out of the house and towards our car, my grandfather stopped and turned on the entrance.

“Again, thank you for your hospitality, it was a pleasure meeting both of you. Oh and in future if you ever need some kind of help regarding….’our’ world then please, don't hesitate to call.” he told them, handing them a card with our number on it.

I opened the door for Harry and sat after him while mom stored his bag in the boot.

“You good?” I asked him, noticing he was looking at the house.

“Yes” He tore his eyes away and looked at me and for the first time I finally noticed his scar. It was just like how the books describe it, angry and shaped like a bolt of lightning. But I quickly turned away so that I would not make him uncomfortable.

“Great, wait, you aren’t driving?” I asked, seeing my grandfather in the passenger seat.

“Your mother took your words too seriously. Don’t worry, just hold on tightly.” he answered, smiling at both of us in a joking tone.

“Don’t be meany, my driving is really good just so you know.” my mother said while getting in.

“I’ll believe it when I see it” I answered while looking at the house again, noticing how none of the house occupants are out watching us.

“Where are we going?” asked harry pulling me out of my angry episode

“We are going to the new Hampstead Garden suburbs.”

“I’ve never been there”

“Somehow that doesn’t surprise me” I commented with amusement.

“Why have you never visited before?” he asked after a while.

“It was just last week when we found out about our family connections harry. If we had known about this before we would’ve come earlier. I'm sorry it took us such a long time.” my mother answered with sorrow.

“It’s okay, you’re here now so it’s all good.” Harry said with a happy smile which made me believe my grandfather a little more.

“We’re about to reach home” my mother said after a while. I sat up and noticed I had spent so much time screaming at Chat in my head. Finally we reached home and I jumped out to stretch my muscles a bit after which everyone started making their way towards the house.

“Welcome home harry.” I whispered to Harry at the gate, to which he just gave me a smile. We finally stepped in and my grandmother came into the hall.

“Harry this is my wife, Clair Fall nee-brook, Clair this is Harry potter.” My grandfather introduced them.

“Hello Harry” my grandmother gave him a bright smile

“Hello ma’am”

“Oh none of that, you can call me grandmother”

“Okay” he agreed with a little uncertainty.

“Come on I’ll show you your room” I gently pushed him up the stairs and led him towards his room which was opposite to mine.

“Here it is,” I gestured to him, encouraging him to open it which he did and finally he walked in looking at everything in it. Finally his attention got stuck on the window.

“Are there lights out there?” he asked me while walking to the window.

“No, why?” I know why but I need to talk about this topic without over-selling it and making a big deal about it.

“Because it was night when we came here, but-” he trailed off.

“Oh that’s just an illusion on the window. Just pull this and it’ll show you the real scene” I demonstrated by pulling on a cord hanging from the window, and suddenly day turned into night.
“How is it doing that?” he asked, astonished.

“It’s magic,” I answered easily.

“Magic?” he asked wide eyed

“Magic” I answered again but this time I changed my eyes to ruby red, my hair to slate grey and my lips a little dark red.

“How?” He took a step back but not in fear but in surprise, but then suddenly he leant forward and stared at my eyes and hair.

“I'm a metamorphmagus, it doesn’t matter the bottom line is that there are a few people who can do magic, like my family, me, and you”

“I can do magic?” he asked me again, wide eyed and excited.

Sam, don’t do it.

‘Too late’

“Aye. Yer a wizard Harry.” I did my best hagrid impression.

“I'm a wizard” he asked in wonder

“Yup, and your parents were one too.”

“My parents were both wizards?” I laughed at this a little.

“Your father was one, your mother was a witch.”

“Oh, did you know them?” he asked me eagerly and with a little desperation.

“I’ve read a lot about them, but I'm a three year old like you.” I pointed out.

“Oh, yeah i guess that makes sense” he answered a little sheepishly but I saw him deflate a little.

“But, I believe my mother knew them, she went to school with them.” I told him which had the desired effect.

“Really?” I just smiled at his eagerness, which was sweet instead of being annoying, which is usually the case with a lot of kids.

“Come on, you can ask her while we eat, it’s almost dinner time. And maybe I'll show you more magic later.”

“Okay” he said happily and we made our way down.
