At the start of the new year there was a boy named Nicholas Charm he was just a little boy
born in 1969 and had lost most of his family when he was 8 and only.
had his little sister who was only 2 and is his half-sister. A friendly family raised him, but he hated his foster dad. He never called him dad.
but it was his only place to live and be fed well he was doing this for his sister.
he didn't want her to suffer because he was treated horribly by his foster dad, so he did his best.
to hide his emotions Not that he wasn't good at it, of course, he was he had tried his
hardest not to cry so that the sister didn't feel bad but one day in the morning while eating breakfast “Oh Nicholas you got a letter” said Anna (the foster mom).
“that's wired why would I get something,” Nicholas said while getting the letter.
“Hogwarts acceptance,” said looking at Anna and David (the foster dad)
Confused “Did you got accepted for a special school read it or something,” said David.
With curiosity in his tone.
When Nicholas opens the letter “Okay it says Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry Headmaster Albus Dumbledore Dear Mr. Charm
We are pleased to inform you that you have a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment Term begins on 1 September. We await your owl by no later than 31 July.

After finishing reading that he looked at Anna like he was nervous and confused he didn't know what to do or where to get everything “David go take Clementine to her room for a while” she said looking at David serious
When David and Clementine left Anna said ‘don't worry Nicholas I know where to get everything we are going there tomorrow” anna said trying not to make Nicholas nervous
“Okay Nicholas I’m going to tell you this and don't tell no one, "She said, “I used to go to that school I knew your mom there and I am willing to help you get all those stuffs and want you to know the truth about your family,” anna said getting lower to look Nicholas in the eyes.
“What, why didn't you tell me about this sooner,” Nicholas said confused as hell “Well I did want to, but you were just a traumatized kid, and David doesn't know anything about this.”
And I promised your mother that I would do anything to help you and maybe even your sister to go to Hogwarts” she said looking sad mentioning Nicholas’s mom.
“Wait do I have to leave my sister alone and what if-” Nicholas said with a worried tone Anna cut him off “Don't worry I'll take care of her until you come back,” Anna said with a friendly smile that convince Nicholas to go to that school, he wanted to try something new.
After the letter, the day felt like it was going by real quick cause all he remembers doing that day was reading the letter and then going to sleep with worry in his stomach he didn't want to leave his sister what if they took her away too, he didn't want that he wasn't ready for that, not the last family member he had left.
But while he was thinking about that he slowly fell asleep but for him, it felt like he just blinked and was being woken up by Anna “Come on kid wake up we are getting all your stuff today” she said gently shaking Nicholas to wake up.
Nicholas got up and got ready he just put on something comfortable when anna got to a place that looked like a bar he was confused he thought he was going to go get what he needed for the school thing but then we went to the back of the bar and there was a wall.
“You will get so surprised,” Anna said looking at Nicholas he sure was because he didn't know what she was doing anymore but she got a little umbrella and tapped the wall and when Nicholas blinked the border was opened, he was surprised Is this magic
Of course, it was not like he was crazy “Okay we are first going to Gringotts” she said not even looking at Nicholas he was confused what was that a fancy store or something but when they got there, he finally asked her what they were doing here.
“You ask so many questions, sweetheart, this is the bank we are going to get you some money to buy you your stuff,” she said finally looking at Nicholas “But um where am I going to get some money,” Nicholas said while walking in the bank “I'm giving you my money and your mom’s money.”
“Oh, okay then” Anna could see that the mention of his mother made him sad, but she tried her best to make him feel happy “Hey after this you want to go get some sweets at one store I know,” Anna said looking at Nicholas “okay,” Nicholas said giving a small smile to anna.
When they got the money “Do I have to go to the school what if I get picked on” Nicholas said looking nervous “You don't have to but at that school, you'll have a lot of friends and maybe have fun there” anna said trying to calm Nicholas down.
“Well okay I'll give it a shot it sounds like I'll have fun anyway,” Nicholas said looking at Anna when they got to the store to get his stuff Anna had to go talk to someone so he will have to go in but before entering a random boy called him.
“Hey, are you also going to Hogwarts,” the boy said to Nicholas “Um yea,” said Nicholas confused “Great maybe we can be friends by the way my name is Ryan Raywood what's your name,” say Ryan “Um my name is Nicholas charm,” said Nicholas.
“Oh gosh your Josiah Charms' younger brother!” said Ryan shocked “Umm how did you know that” Nicholas said even more confused “Well everyone knows him as the boy who went crazy over a secret vault,” Ryan said “Oh, and that he got expelled from Hogwarts because he went all crazy,” Ryan said adding more things about Nicholas's brother.
Nicholas didn't know his brother much the last time he saw him was when he was just 3 years old, so he didn't care much about it when they talked bad about his brother.
“Oh, yea well it was his choice to go crazy,” said already getting annoyed looking for Anna Ryan also started looking around “Who are you looking for,” Ryan said confused.
“I'm looking for someone they are probably talking to someone about something important,” Nicholas said, “Hey you want me to help you get your books,” Ryan said opening the door for Nicholas.
“Oh no you don't have to thanks for the offer tho” Nicholas walked into the bookstore he was looking for all the books he thought he needed and waited maybe even reading some books to waste time waiting for Anna.
A few minutes pass and Anna walks in “Jeez sorry that took long Nicholas some lady kept asking me questions” Anna said getting the money from her purse “Did you get all the books you need” said Anna “Yup” said Nicholas grabbing his books.
When they left the books store Nicholas thought he was done with all his stuff “Okay you ready to get your wand” Anna said, “Wait you get a wand?’ Nicholas said confused “Of course, this is my favorite part of getting a wand,” Anna said super excited for Nicholas, but Nicholas was just confused.
When Nicholas entered Ollivander's wand store, what if he didn't get a wand or got the wrong wand a man greeted him in a friendly tone calming down Nicholas a little at least “And you are young man?” the man said, “Um I’m Nicholas charm.”
“Oh, Nicholas Charm I remember your brother,” the man said Nicholas wondered how he remembered his brother “Wow you still remember my brother,” Nicholas said while looking around the store “Of course I remember everyone that I give a wand a shame that they snapped the wand.”
Nicholas was nervous when the man was giving him wands, and all was wrong and wrong that he thought he would not get a wand “Oh now I know which wand belongs to you” He went to the back and got a wand it looked like a had a lot of dust when the man came back and hand Nicholas the wand.
“It's an Acacia Wand a piable 12-inch wand made of acacia and a unicorn core,” the man said when Nicholas tried it out for the fifth time it felt right maybe this one was his wand the wand, he was going to get he got so happy when he knew he got a wand now.
When he left the store Anna was waiting for him once she saw that Nicholas was happy, she got happy maybe Anna was right this could be fun he was now delighted “so Nicholas, I got you a surprise” said Anna having something with a blanket on
“Um really what is it,” he said kind of curiously “Okay I hope you like it,” Anna said before she revealed the surprise, and when she did reveal it “Ta-da!” she said with an owl in a cage.
Nicholas was confused about why an owl didn't mind it but why “I got you a northern saw-whet owl” Anna said with excitement in her tone “I can see that thanks but why do I need an owl?” Nicholas said.
“That is a good question Nicholas, you're going to need it to send a letter to Clementine and me because who knows your sister is going to miss you when you're gone,” Anna said, and just in case other people send you a letter or stuff,” anna said happily.
“Oh, really wow okay and do I have to send my owl to Hogwarts on July 31? Nicholas said making sure he was right “Yes now what are you going to name your new pet,” anna said giving the cage to Nicholas.
“Umm I guess Namor is the only one that came up,” Nicholas said “Namor? Really what does that name mean?” Anna said with a curious tone “It's a secret only I will know no one else is,” Nicholas said looking at his new pet owl.
“But I never told you if it's a girl or a boy Anna said looking at Nicholas “That's fine I can think Namor is a girl's name too,” Nicholas said talking back to Anna.
Jeez by the way it's a boy just if you're wondering” Anna said.
“Great I guess Namor it is,” Nicholas said ready to go home “Okay fine I won't ask you any more stuff about that name because it's a nice name,” Anna said “Okay,” Nicholas said hoping that Anna won't ask about the name?
He was happy to have a new pet as they were leaving Diagon Alley the same boy that Nicholas saw when he was getting his stuff “Hey there new friend” the boy said to Nicholas, Nicholas looked at the boy confused but Anna looked so happy to know that Nicholas was already making new friends.
“Oooh Nicholas who is this kind boy,” anna said looking at Nicholas with a happy face “Umm this is um,” Nicholas said while trying to remember the boy's name “Hello my name is Ryan Raywood,” the boy said to anna.
“Oh, what a cute name are you Nicholas's new friend,” Anna said so excited “yea well if Nicholas will want to be my friend,” Ryan said looking at Nicholas like he knew what Nicholas was going to say “Well I kind of don-” before Nicholas was going to finish his sentence, he was interrupted by anna.
“Of course, he will want to be your friend,” Anna said knowing that Nicholas was going to say no “Isn't that right Nicholas,” she said looking at Nicholas “Um yes I will love to be your friend,” Nicholas said looking at Ryan.
“Oh, be right back Nicholas stay here and talk to your new friend I need to get something,” Anna said leaving Nicholas with Ryan “Jeez I knew she will do that,” Nicholas said not even looking at Ryan.
“What exactly?” Ryan said, “Force me into being your friend,” Nicholas said with a little bit of guilt in his voice “Oh I knew that she was going to say that too,” said Ryan while Nicholas looked at him confused.
“How?” Nicholas said, “Well that's why I asked you to be my friend again in front of her,” Ryan said while looking for his glasses “Oh wow really that is smart,” Nicholas said impressed.
“Yup,” Ryan said while putting on his glasses “Um I guess you're not so bad than what I thought you would be like,” Nicholas said feeling guilting for almost declining his friendship “What did you think I would be like,” Ryan said laughing quietly.
“Well, I don't know I thought you would be annoying to talk to well not that I hate annoying people it's just like you talking about my brother an all those stuff about him,” Nicholas said not looking at Ryan.
“Oh, I'm so sorry I was just shocked, and I got nervous and when I get super nervous well, I just start talking nonsense I am sorry,” Ryan said kind of stuttering a lot “Hey it's fine now I know it was just you were being nervous so it's fine,” Nicholas said.
“Well, I'm sorry but I hope me, and you could be friends not like being friends but because your mom forced you,” Ryan said again looking nervous.
Nicholas was thinking about it “Okay sure we could be friends just don't be so nervous to talk to me so that I don't end up feeling like you're insulting me” Nicholas said, and Ryan agreed.
Nicholas had his first friend he thought it would be harder to get friends, but he didn't even have to try to be nice Anna always told him to be nice to make friends after a while of Ryan and Nicolas talking Ryan had to leave and Nicholas was just waiting for anna.
While Nicholas was waiting for Anna a girl bumped into him making Nicholas fall to the floor “Ugh careful’ Nicholas said while standing up “You watch where you are going” said the girl looking all stressed “Me? You're the one running into people” Nicholas said getting all annoyed.
“Whatever muggle,” said the girl running off to a store “Muggle?” said Nicholas confused, and after a while, Nicholas was wondering what the word mean Anna came back from who knew where.
“Sorry, it took a long time. Nicholas, I had a serious talk with someone,” Anna said looking stressed “It's fine can we go home now,” Nicholas said trying not to stress her out more while they were walking “Oh Anna um what do muggle mean?” Nicholas said.
“What,” said Anna looking shocked “Um I'm just wondering what muggle means,” Nicholas said confused “Why are you asking me that how do you even know that word,” said Anna worried “Um well someone bumped into me, and called me muggle,” Nicholas said even more confused.
“A person called you that what a-,” Anna said looking at Nicholas before she could finish her sentence “A mean person,” Anna said making sure Nicholas never learned those words while Nicholas just wanted to know what muggle meant.
“So, what does muggle mean,” Nicholas said just wanting to know what the word meant “Oh it means a person without magical powers,” Anna said while Nicholas was confused on how that could be insulting.
“Oh, how is that insulting,” Nicholas asked Anna “Well they only call people that don't know anything about the magical world like Hogwarts,” Anna said, “Well does that make me a muggle because I didn't know what Hogwarts was,” Nicholas said.
“No, you're not a muggle it's just your parents didn't raise you with power and wanted to tell you about Hogwarts when you were 11,” Anna said, “Oh that makes sense I suppose,” Nicholas said wondering what else he doesn't know about the magical world.
When Anna and Nicholas got home Nicholas went to his room and all he was thinking about was what he was going to do in the new school and what was waiting for him would people like to talk to him
He was thinking about what it will be like if it would be different than his normal school and he was hoping it was because he got made fun of in that school just because he was different than the other kids.
But when Anna told him that it was going to be a school of different kinds of people and Nicholas was getting less nervous knowing he will have a chance to make friends
But for now, he had to take care of Namor and take care of his sister every once in a while, the thought of what will happen to his sister he could trust Anna to take care of her but if he will be gone for almost a year will clementine be worried will he end up like his brother.
He didn't think about that because it would just ruin his mood for the whole day, and he didn't want that so he tried to just forget about the bad things and think about all the good things that would happen at his so-called new school.
While Nicholas was thinking about how Hogwarts will be Anna walked into his room “Excuse me what are you doing this is going to be your last week of seeing us before you start your new school go have fun with your sister you know she will miss you a lot.
As Nicholas went to the living room to look for his little sister Clementine and found her playing with some dolls that looked quite old Nicholas sat down next to Clementine
Nicholas remember that his little sister started school he never talked about he thought this time would be maybe the good time to talk about it because he was going to be away from her because of school.
Nicholas asked Clementine how things were going, and she jumped right into telling him about all the cool stuff she was learning and the new friends she had made.
Nicholas listened and nodded along, telling her that he remembered feeling the same way when he started school.
Then they started talking about what school would be like when she was his age. He told her that it would get harder, but she would also get to learn about even more awesome things like science experiments and history mysteries.
They also talked about how to deal with mean kids and tricky homework assignments. By the end of their chat, Clementine was feeling stoked about all the things she had to look forward to in school, and the boy was happy to have helped his sister out.
After a while, it was silent because he didn't know what else to say but then remembered that she doesn't know that he was leaving for school, and he didn't want her to find out when he was already gone.
Nicholas had the urge to finally break the news to her “so clementine I need to tell you something important” Nicholas said in a sort of sad tone “yea what is it” Clementine said.
Nicholas explained to her that he was going to be away for a few months because of school. His sister looked at him with a confused expression, wondering why he would have to leave.
He took a deep breath and calmly explained that he had been accepted into a special program at school that would help him learn new things and develop important skills.
He told Clementine that it was a great opportunity for him, but it also meant he would have to be away from home for a while.
Clementine looked sad and worried, but Nicholas reassured her that he would stay in touch and that they would see each other again soon. He also promised to send her postcards and cool things that he saw or heard of from his adventures.
Although it was a difficult conversation, Nicholas knew that his sister would understand and that this experience would be valuable for his future.
As Nicholas finished his conversations with his little sister he decided to go back to his room and read some books maybe even some of the books that he got for his new school he was
He remembered that he got a book about the school he was going to be going to some days he got the book “Let's find out the History of Hogwarts.”
He settled into his bed and began to read. The more he read, the more he was transported into the magical world of Hogwarts.
He learned about the founders of the school, the powerful spells and potions that were taught, and the many legendary battles that had taken place on the grounds. Nicholas was completely interested in the world of Hogwarts and the magic that it represented.
He thought that it sounded more fun than he expected. He loved the idea of becoming a powerful wizard. He continued reading late into the night, not wanting to put the book down. He couldn't believe that he would be attending Hogwarts in some days.
He thought it was a great idea to get the book because he would know a lot more about the school when he gets to go, and he wouldn't look like a boring person that didn't know anything about the so-called magic.
After a while of reading, he decided to go to sleep but he couldn't stop thinking about what house he would be sorted into he was kind of nervous about that part because he was thinking that in each house he will get treated differently.
But as he was thinking about that he started dozing off until he was asleep but as he was asleep with a book in his chest and his lamp on Anna walked in to check on him and put the book away “Oh you poor thing you shouldn't be staying up late to read a book” she said to herself in a soft tone
As she turned Nicholas's lamp off and walk to the door “You remind me so much of her” she said in a very soft but sad tone before she closed the door to let Nicholas sleep
