The best decision ever
Summary
Sirius and Remus are getting married! It's adorable. This is still within the 'Perfectly broken' Au. I will be coming out with more chapter but ooh finals and ooh stress so enjoy this thing i typed up rather than finishing a project.
Note
ik gay marriage wasn't legal in the Uk then but wtf their wizards they can do whatever they want.

“Reggie! I’m so excited!” Sirius said, flopping down on the couch behind him.

“I would hope so. You're getting married.” Regulus smirked.

Sirius rolled his eyes. “How nice of you, brother. Do you know if Remus got my gift?”

“For the millionth time, yes. I gave it to James and James gave it to Remus.” Regulus groaned.

“That's good. I hope he likes it. Do you think he’ll like it, Reg?” Sirius asked.

“Yes.” Regulus said the most amount of sincerity in his voice than he had had all day. “It was the most thoughtful gift you could have given him. I haven’t heard about his reaction. I’m sure you’ll find out soon.”

“Thanks.” Sirius said

“For what?” Regulus asked, even though he felt that he could be thanked for lots of things today.

“For being here. For caring. For being you.” Sirius said.

Regulus jokingly buried his head in his hands. “Oh lord! You're getting sappy! Please stop! Please go back to thoughtless, I feel no emotion Sirius.”

Sirius slapped his arm, “Oh piss off prat. I quite like me sappy. More emotionally healthy.”

Regulus rolled his eyes and changed the topic, “Are you nervous?”

“No actually.” Sirius replied after he took a moment to think. “There is a little ball of anxiety and nerves somewhere in me. But it's squashed by my love for Remus. I love him so much. I can’t wait to marry him.”

“And he’s back.” Regulus announced.

“Oh come on. Give sappy Sirius today. He’s getting married.” Sirius laughed.

Regulus smiled, “One day. That's it.”

“FLOWERS! WHERE ARE THE FUCKING FLOWERS!” Marlene screamed into the hall. The best men along with Lily and Peter immediately came running in. “What's going on?” Regulus asked.

“The flowers, The bouquets for Mary, Dorcas, Pandora and I and the corsages for you, James and Peter. Where the hell are they?!” Marlene said.

“Here.” Dorcas said as she walked into the hall with a box. “They're all here. Take a breath.”

“Thanks,” Marlene took a breath and looked at the rest of the wedding party. “Sorry guys, I just want this to be the best wedding possible for them.”

“No problem.” James replied, unfazed by all the yelling since he was Remus’ best man. “It’s been a slightly stressful day for all of us. We’ll give you two a moment. You should start getting ready.” He signalled for the rest of them to walk away. As they were leaving Dorcas and Marlene heard them squabbling.

“You look beautiful.” James said, kissing Regulus.

“Ugh! I’m still here.” Peter groaned.

Regulus and James decided to kiss even longer to piss Peter off. He responded, “If you guys are going to shag or something could you do it away from me.”

Marlene laughed, letting out a breath she didn’t realise she was holding. Dorcas got on her tippy toes and kissed the top of Marlene's head. Marlene laughed,

“Aw come ‘ere my short queen.” She grabbed Dorcas by the waist and picked her up and spun her around. Dorcas laughed. Once Marlene put her down Marlene commented, “We should get married one day.”

Dorcas kissed her. “Yeah, one day.”

“You guys are adorable!” Mary squealed. Marlene and Dorcas both jumped with fright not seeing their friend right there.

“Goodness, how long have you been there?” Dorcas asked.

“Just enough to see that adorable fluff.” Mary commented, “You should get ready though Marls. I can handle this. Go.”

Marlene nodded and headed off. Today was going to be a good day.

Marlene knocked on Sirius’ door first.

“Wow Sirius, you look absolutely stunning.” Marlene said as soon as she saw Sirius. He was wearing a black and maroon suit with some gold finishes and a golden pin on his pocket.

“Thank you Marls.” Sirius blushed.

“Wow! I made the great Sirius Black blush!” Marlene joked.

“Quite impressive Marlene.” Regulus commented.

“Oh quit it you!” Sirius said. “Did you need something?”

“Yes.” Marlene began, “So the wedding party will start walking down the aisle in ten minutes. So I need you in the left entrance in about 5 minutes from now. I will have someone open the door for you to leave. You will go first and Remus will follow. Then we will have the ceremony, then the reception and boom! You lot are married. Sounds good?”

“Sounds good.” Sirius nodded.

“Any questions?” Marlene asked.

Sirius, feeling like he was back at school, replied, “Nope.”

“Okay, I’m going to go brief Remus. See you in 10 minutes!” Marlene said on her way out.

As Marlene came close to Remus’ door and heard one of his panic freak outs, she decided to back away. Peter thankfully came that way and told her,

“I can take care of this, you keep prepping. Get Hope and Minerva. Get them where they are supposed to be. They are with Lily and Pandora.”

Marlene let Peter know what to tell Remus then thanked him and walked away. Peter took a deep breath before going in.

“You excited?” James asked a pacing Remus who he was desperately trying to get a bowtie onto.

“I might throw up.” Remus stated finally stopping and allowing James to put his tie on and then began looking into a mirror and playing with his hair.

“Well don’t throw up on me, or Pads, or Reg or yourself. Or anyone for that matter.” James said.

Remus didn’t listen to his friend and then blurted out, “Fucking hell! My hair looks-”

“Moony, your hair looks great.” Peter said, finally speaking up. James nodded a silent thank you before letting Peter continue, “I know you must be nervous. Hell, I'm nervous and I’m not even getting married. But you and Padfoot love each other. You guys are meant for each other. You guys are soulmates.”

Remus let out a breath and collapsed into his chair. “I am very nervous. Very very nervous.” He paused for a moment and then looked at his feet before continuing, “But I love Sirius a lot. I love him so much.” He looked up and noticed that Peter was gone, “I am very excited to marry him.” He finished with a smile before looking up at James who was smiling widely at his friend. Panic very quickly set back into his face when he got up and screamed, “MY NOTES! WHERE ARE MY-”

“Left waistcoat pocket.” James replied without even looking up from what he was doing. He had been dealing with Remus’ random bursts of panic all day and had become used to it. He then handed Remus a small box he had gotten out of the drawer, “It's from Sirius. He was going to give it to you at the altar but he thought that it would be nicer for you to be able to wear it now.”

Remus opened the box and was met with a little locket and a note. He picked up the note which read,

Dear my moony,
I hope that you will enjoy this gift. A little piece of one of our happiest moments in our second home.
Love,
Sirius

Remus opened the locket and there was a photo taken of the two of them at the black lake by James who thought that it would be funny to have stuck all around their dorm when they had gotten back.

Remus smiled and put the locket on, fixing it so it laid nicely on his suit. He looked in the mirror and straightened himself up one last time before turning to James, “I’m ready.”

James smiled, “That's good, because you go on in 3 minutes.”

“Aw! Baby you look wonderful.” Hope said to her son as she squeezed his cheeks. Anyone who saw Remus would agree. He wore a dark brown striped suit. It looked incredibly classy.

“Mom!” Remus said embarrassed.

“What! Now that my boy is going to be a married man I can’t treat him like my son?” Hope teased, “Trust that even though you may be married you will never not be my baby.”

“Yes mom.” Remus sighed. While he acted like he was embarrassed he was enjoying the affection from his mom.

“Who’s walking Sirius down the aisle? Or will he already be at the altar?” Hope asked, trying to kill time.

“Professor McGonnagall is.” Remus replied.

“How sweet. She’s a good woman. I shared a dorm with her, you know.”
Hope replied.

“Hi Minne!” Sirius said as he walked to the entrance he was supposed to be in.

“Hello Mr.Black.” McGonagall smiled, “You look well.”

“ ‘Course I’m well! I’m getting married!” Sirius exclaimed. “You know, you're literally in my wedding party. Call me Sirius. I am no longer your student.”

Minerva smiled, “Of course Sirius.” They stayed silent for a moment before Minerva spoke, “I never had children. But if I had a son and he was anything like you. I would be exponentially proud of him. I am exponentially proud of you, Sirius.”

Sirius teared up a little, “Didn’t think I would cry this early into the wedding. It hasn’t even started yet.” Sirius laughed a little. Minerva wiped his eyes and pulled him into a hug.

Then Marlene opened the door and whispered, “We’re starting. Narcissa will let you know when you need to come in.”

Sirius smiled. No day would ever top this day.

Lily watched as everyone came up the aisle. First was Mary and Pandora, then Marlene and Dorcas finally were the best men; James and Regulus. After them was Peter, their flower boy as well as their ring bearer. She giggled a little at the sight. Peter skipped down the aisle with a basket of flowers in one hand and a beautiful purple cushion with two rings on it. She would definitely have to show Remus and Sirius her memory.

First was Sirius. He had some tears in his eyes and was linked by the arm with Minerva. Next was Remus and his mother. They too were linked at the arm. As they got closer to the altar Hope’s eyes began to shine with tears. She gave Remus a quick kiss on the cheek and took her seat next to Minerva.

Lily then began, “We are gathered here to celebrate Sirius and Remus in holy matrimony. Now Sirius; do you take Remus to be your lawfully wedded husband, as long as you both shall live?”

“Yes.” Sirius smiled and grabbed Remus’ hands, “I do.”

“And you Remus,” Lily continued, “Do you take Sirius to be your lawfully wedded husband as long as you both shall live?”

“Yes.” Remus began to cry a little, “I do.”

“I believe the two of you have prepared your own vows?” Lily said before Sirius spoke,

“Remus, I have loved you forever. I have loved you since the moment I saw you on the train curled up with your nose in a book. You have been the light of my life and my reason for being. I believe in the red string of fate. And I have found what was on the other end of my string. You. You in all of your beauty and tranquillity. I could continue listing the reasons that you are the most perfect being to walk this earth but then we would never leave. I love you, Remus Lupin. And I intend to love you till the day I die.”

There was some light applause and Remus wiped a tear from his eye.

“I did have something prepared, but I can’t remember where they are but-”

“Left waistcoat pocket!” James shouted from the side. Everyone in the room giggled and Remus continued, “Thank you James, but I’m going to speak from the heart. I love you Sirius. You are perfect for me. You are the missing piece in the puzzle of my life. A certain person told me today that we are soulmates. While I don’t take anything this person says at face value-”

“Hey!”

Remus briefly looked at Peter before locking eyes with Sirius “This I believe. If in some insane universe we never met I believe that no matter what I would find my way back to my missing piece. You are what makes me whole. You make the big picture, the big picture. I can not imagine a life without you. I am forever grateful you got on the train car with the reading boy because that boy’s world was rocked in the most amazing way. I love you Sirius, now, forever and always.”

Lily smiled and announced, “And now by the power vested in me by the Ministry of Magic. I pronounce you husband and husband. You may now kiss the groom.”

The two kissed. After a moment Sirius dipped Remus and everyone erupted in cheers.

James tapped his glass with his fork and stood up. “Sorry everybody. I have a few words I would like to say. I have known these two idiots since we were 11 years old. They fell in love immediately and didn’t realise it for 4 ½ whole years. Those years were by far the worst years of my life. Relentless pining from both of them; and I couldn't do anything about it! Which is why I am glad to say I am so happy for you idiots. You two are perfect for each other. Congratulations you guys. Cheers.” The crowd shouted cheers back.

Then Regulus got up, “I suppose I shall make a toast too. Remus was the only one of Sirius’ friends I took a liking to.”

“Ouch I’m wounded.” James exclaimed.

“This isn't about you dear.” Regulus chastised. The crowd laughed and Regulus continued, “I always knew there was something about Remus. Remus had changed my brother for the better and any man who can do that is an amazing man. I hope you two are forever happy with each other. Treat my brother well Remus.”

Everybody drank to that.

The rest of the evening was filled with eating, taking, music, drinking as well as some good old marauder tomfoolery. After a while the dance floor was cleared for Remus and Sirius to have their first dance.

The first song that played was Dancing Queen by ABBA. At first Remus was mortified and froze. Remus had two left feet so they had choreographed a dance to Can’t Help Falling in Love. When that song came on Sirius laughed and then changed the song so that it would play the correct song.

Remus smiled and grabbed Sirius. The two danced for what seemed like forever and then after Sirius noticed that they had dance to more than one song he looked over Remus’ shoulder and noticed that everyone had joined them in dancing.

Sirius put his eyes back on Remus and was overjoyed when Remus pulled him into a kiss.

“You look so beautiful.” Remus whispered in his ear. Sirius hummed.

“Let’s get out of here.” Remus suggested.

“Yeah.” Sirius replied, “Last song.” Sirius said as he pulled away and changed the song.

As the song changed people cleared the dance floor to leave room for Sirius, James and Peter.

Once Sirius began to sing Remus realised what this was. After every full moon the rest of the marauders would entertain Remus by horribly singing American Pie. They also always created an awful dance to go along with it.

By the time they had gotten to the chorus Remus was singing along with them. Everyone clapped along, some even singing along as well. By the end of it everyone in the room was singing and dancing along.

Remus laughed as he fell into Sirius’ arms.

“Lets go home, shall we?” Sirius asked as he caught his falling husband.

“I am tired.” Sirius said as he sat down on the bed, promptly taking his shoes off. “We’re married Remy!”

“That we are.” Remus replied, who was already in his pyjamas.

“I’m so happy! And I don’t even know why!” Sirius exclaimed who started to change into his pyjamas.

“You got married, my love, to me.” Remus pointed out the obvious.

Sirius threw himself onto his husband and sighed, “I love you Remy.”

“I love you too Siri.” Remus pulled him in for a kiss.

“Are you still tired?” Remus raised an eyebrow.

“Nope!” Sirius perked up understanding what Remus was alluding to, “Not in the slightest.”

Remus laughed, marrying Sirius black was the greatest decision he ever made. He just knew it.
