pensieveleaks tranche 1
Summary
Between 1991 and 1998, wizarding Britain underwent an extraordinary series of political and technological changes in response to conflict between Tom Riddle and Albus Dumbledore. Until recently, those changes were understood primarily through the remarkable achievements of Harry James Potter, the so-called ‘Boy Who Lived’. Recent information, made public through Department of Mysteries memory leaks and the release of the Dumbledore ‘Pensieve Papers’, reveal the popular narrative – that, guided by the wisdom of Dumbledore, Potter defeated Riddle in a duel at Hogwarts School on 2 May 1998 – to be carefully orchestrated plot, if not an outright deceit. This archive, compiling evidence from official sources, first-hand testimony, and Potter’s celebrated memoirs, attempts to create a comprehensive history of the covert operations that laid the groundwork for not only the Shacklebolt administration but the 21st-century wizarding and non-magical worlds alike. PARTY 1: He’s gone over the edge. The Bug, I mean.

PARTY 2: Q?

PARTY 1: That’s the one. He’s over.

PARTY 2: What happened?

PARTY 1: He’s been making comments for ages. Strange things. We thought it was an act at first. But it seems he’s gone over the edge. He wants to off them. Off them all. He wants into the centre of it all. Our legimens caught him plotting to off [REDACTED].

PARTY 2: I hope your legimens doesn’t spend too much time reading me, then.

PARTY 1: Well. If he wasn’t flipped when he went in, he is now. I’m ready for an arrest.

PARTY 2: We need intent. We need him to act. Then we can respond.

PARTY 1: What do you need? An imperius? A crucio?

PARTY 2: That’d help.

PARTY 1: Fine. Then we wait.

PARTY 2: Feel free to – escalate things. If you must. Bones is drumming her fingers. There’s pressure from downstairs too. Something’s up. I don’t know what. We don’t want to blow our cover yet, though. We need to be sure an arrest is worth it before we make one. Don’t want to blow our line before a bigger fish comes along, you know.

PARTY 1: Well. Just say the word. I’ve got my chips and vinegar ready.
