pensieveleaks tranche 1
Summary
Between 1991 and 1998, wizarding Britain underwent an extraordinary series of political and technological changes in response to conflict between Tom Riddle and Albus Dumbledore. Until recently, those changes were understood primarily through the remarkable achievements of Harry James Potter, the so-called ‘Boy Who Lived’. Recent information, made public through Department of Mysteries memory leaks and the release of the Dumbledore ‘Pensieve Papers’, reveal the popular narrative – that, guided by the wisdom of Dumbledore, Potter defeated Riddle in a duel at Hogwarts School on 2 May 1998 – to be carefully orchestrated plot, if not an outright deceit. This archive, compiling evidence from official sources, first-hand testimony, and Potter’s celebrated memoirs, attempts to create a comprehensive history of the covert operations that laid the groundwork for not only the Shacklebolt administration but the 21st-century wizarding and non-magical worlds alike. Name: [REDACTED], Unspeakable

Date: 23 June 1991

Location: Tilgate Nature Centre, Crawley, West Sussex

Report: Vanished glass pane at muggle zoo resulting in escaped serpent (non-mag., Boa constrictor); incident reported 3:26pm to DMAC. Report intercepted by DoM per ‘serpent’ tag and location of interest (County Surrey, adjacent). Unsp. [REDACTED] deployed, arrived 3:59pm. Upon arrival, serpent had been returned to chamber and glass replaced by DMAC; muggles evacuated, witnesses detained for questioning, DMAC in process of obliviation. Unsp. [REDACTED] interrupted questioning of muggle security guard (WITNESS). WITNESS referred in questioning to ‘dark-haired kid’, noted glasses, stated: ‘Was like he was talking to it, hissing at it he was’, proceeded to imitate ‘hissing’ sound. WITNESS stated that boy seemed unafraid of serpent and seemed ‘amused’ when serpent lashed at another boy, presumed to be in same party; bespectacled boy, accompanied by guardians and two other children, left reptile house promptly. Memory was extracted from WITNESS by Unsp. [REDACTED] at 4:18pm; WITNESS was obliviated by Unsp. [REDACTED] upon completion of questioning at 4:19pm. No other witnesses questioned; scene contained by DMAC. Memory filed to DoM and DMAC records without processing.

Notes: Memory determined to be accurate upon analysis. ‘Dark-haired’ child identified as [REDACTED], son of [REDACTED] and [REDACTED], age 10. Other members of party identified as [REDACTED]’s adoptive family, [REDACTED], [REDACTED], and [REDACTED] (fourth party unidentified). Evidence suggests that [REDACTED] is [REDACTED], potentially unaware; records indicate no familial history. Report relayed to Unsp. [REDACTED] and [ASSET] re: CASSIUS.
