If not, I will cherish the time I had with you forever.
Draco
The walls were closing in around him. Days are fading in and out of each other. The look on his father’s face. It played over and over in his head. Severus came over every day. Every day Draco would stay in his room. He would allow him to come in. He didn’t want to worry the man too much.
Today he was past his breaking point. With a heavy sigh. Draco walked through the doors. Healer Grant stood in the lobby waiting for him. Tears stung his eyes.
“Draco. I’m very proud of you. It takes courage to seek help. Let's get you settled.”
This is where he needed to be. His family would understand. Justin would understand. He hoped Justin would still want to be with him after he told him to leave. As much as he craved to think about it. Draco needed to focus on himself and his healing.
Justin
Knocking on his window brought Justin out of notes he was writing about his last session. In the window, there was a beautiful tawny owl. When Justin opened the window, the owl perched. Justin took the letter. The owl hooted and flew away. Whoever sent the owl didn’t want a return letter. After the last week, he threw himself into his work. He did everything to not think about Draco. He worried so much for him.
Justin sat down at his desk. Maybe it was a letter from Toby. He has been doing so much better lately. Or it could be from Draco… Maybe he is ready to see him.
Justin,
I wanted you to be the first to know. The others will get their letter later today. I’ve checked myself back into the hospital. I realize what I needed and where I needed to be. I don’t expect you to want to see me when I get out. I wanted you to know.
Justin, you are the first person in my life to make me feel the way I do. Sometimes I felt like I didn’t deserve how you treated me. I hate how I spoke to you the last time I saw you. I hope to see you when I get out. I hope we can be together. If not, I will cherish the time I had with you forever.
Love,
Draco
Justin stared at the letter. A million emotions flood through him. The biggest ones were hope and pride. He was proud of Draco for seeking the help he needed. He will be there for Draco when he comes out.
Percy
The face in the mirror was one that Percy didn’t recognize. A shaky hand dabbed at the bloody, swollen lip. Percy’s trapped. There was nothing he could do now. This was his life. How did this turn into his nightmare? In the beginning, it was perfect. He knew who he was and what his goals were. How did it get as bad as it did so quickly? Percy Weasley. Prefect and Head Boy top of his class. None of that mattered now.
Percy looked at himself again. No! He couldn’t give up. Not anymore. A plan is what he needed. A good plan. Percy had time, but not much. It would be more difficult the longer he waited. He could not half-arse this. He might not have his parents to lean on, but he knows who he does. He just needed to get there first. Percy will start right now.
