You look beautiful, and I mean that in the most friendly way.
Neville
It was a beautiful fall morning and to make it even better; he was getting married today. Neville placed Nash on his shoulder as he patted his back. Barnaby was in the kitchen with Harry and Winnie.
Severus, Hagrid, Charlie, and Draco were at his house getting ready for the wedding. Silas and Topher were with them. They decided they needed to divide and conquer. Once Nash burped loudly, Neville walked in and saw Harry flipping a pancake and Barnaby working on centerpieces. They wanted the flowers to be perfect.
On the table, there were piles of lilies, dahlias, and gerbera daisies. It wasn’t a big wedding. There weren't many guests, but that didn’t matter.
“There he is! I was just finishing up the centerpieces. Winnie is a good helper.” Neville looked over at Winnie, who was sitting in her highchair with a small flower crown.
“You look so beautiful, Winnie Pennie.” Neville kissed his niece's hair as he summoned the wrap for Nash.
“She is the most beautiful girl in the world,” Harry said as he walked over from the stove. “I can’t believe that it’s your wedding day! I’m so happy for you, Nev.”
“I am too! This reminds me of my wedding morning and Harry’s! At least no one is pregnant this time around… Right?” Barnaby asked with a twinkle in his eye.
Neville and Harry said no at the same time. Barnaby laughed out loud as he placed the last flower in the last centerpiece.
“I was just wondering! You know I love my grandchildren.”
“You are going to have to wait a while for us, Pops,” Neville said with a smile when he finished securing Nash to him.
“Charlie won’t even let me think about it. He said that we need to wait until Winnie is a little older.” Harry shrugged his shoulders and placed the pancakes on the table. “Though I know that Draco and Justin have been spending more time together.”
Neville looked over at Harry. Draco has been hanging out with Justin? Why didn’t he tell him? It wasn’t Draco shared much of anything, though. It was good that he could talk to Harry.
“The only reason I know that is that he came over to my house pissed because he pulled a Demi Moore and Patric Swazey with clay.”
Neville spat out the juice that he took a drink of, and Barnaby dropped his fork.
“Are you serious?” Neville asked as he flicked his wand to wipe up the mess he made as Barnaby squealed.
“That’s my boy!”
Harry rolled his eyes. “It wasn’t all sexual like the movie, but from what Draco told me, which wasn’t a lot.”
“Well, I will have to ask Severus. Speaking of Severus, I wonder how he is doing this morning?”
Barnaby winked at him. “Probably thinking of his handsome groom. That's what I was doing the morning of my wedding.”
“I was thinking about the wedding night as well.” Harry teased, and Neville rolled his eyes and took a bite of his pancake. Yes, this would be the first night they had been alone since Nash was born. He couldn’t wait.
Severus
“Tad! Tad! Wake up!” Severus groaned as his son bounced on him. How is Neville sleeping through this?
“Shh Silas, don’t wake up Daddy.” Silas giggled and bounced more.
“Daddy’s not ‘ere member! We marry Daddy!” Severus’s eyes popped open, his son’s smiling face was in front of him. He was getting married today! Severus Snape is getting married.
“Yes, we are marrying Daddy today. Where is Uncle Draco?” The potion master asked as he sat up and made his way out of bed. Silas jumped into his arms as they walked out of his old room.
“He makin’ brefikist! Grand Unca Char and Tophy here!” Silas rambled as he entered the kitchen. Severus had never seen the kitchen so full of people.
“Mornin’ Severus!” The half-giant greeted as he took Silas from him and placed him in the highchair next to Topher. Charlie nodded toward him as he drank from his mug.
*Sit. Breakfast is ready. As the best man, I have made sure breakfast is ready, and robes are wrinkle-free.* Draco flicked his wand, and the food floated over towards the table.
*Thank you Draco. Thank you, gentlemen, as well. It’s unbelievable that I’m getting married.* Severus signed and spoke, his voice hitched. He didn't like to show his emotion but he was happy.
They all started to eat their breakfast when an owl tapped on the window. Severus knew the owl was one from the zoo. He quickly headed over to the widow and opened it.
His fingers pulled the letter off the owl's leg and fed the bird a piece of bacon before it flew away.
“Whose it from?” Charlie teased as he placed the banana he broke in half for Topher and Silas on their plates. Draco rolled his eyes and Charlie laughed. “Yeah, you are right it is probably from his husband-to-be.
Severus ignored them as he opened up the letter.
Severus,
It was so lonely this morning when I woke up. I forgot how horrible it was not to wake up in your arms. Barnaby and Harry are pampering me like crazy. I’m not sure if you will recognize me.
I just wanted to write to you and tell you that in a few scant hours, I will be Mr. Nevillle Longbottom-Snape and we can dance all night.
I love you,
For the last time, Neville Longbottom!
P.S. Tell Si Si I miss him and love him.
“It must’a been Neville. That smile says it.” Hagrid chuckled.
Severus ignored the comments. He sat down and finished his breakfast. Only a few more hours, he thought to himself with a smile.
Justin
Severus and Neville’s ceremony was beautiful, or he should say, Severus’s best man was beautiful. How could Draco get more beautiful every time he saw him? It wasn’t fair. It was hard not to for him not to picture Draco in pure white robes. An ivy crown in his platinum blond hair. Justin shook his head. ‘Calm down’, he thought to himself. He needed to go slow. They had spent a lot of time together recently.
Draco’s eyes met his eyes a few times during the ceremony. There was a hint of redness in his cheeks before he looked away.
Justin felt a slight shove on his shoulder as he watched Severus and Neville have their first dance. He turned to see Anthony with a smug look on his face.
“What is it?” Justin asked as he took a sip of his Coke. One of his favorite muggle fizzy drinks.
“You should ask Draco to dance. You haven’t stopped looking at him since the ceremony. I can’t believe you didn’t have a drool puddle on your lap.” Justin kicked his newly adopted brother in the shin. “OUCH!”
“I can’t help it! He shouldn’t be so beautiful. I mean, have you ever seen someone so beautiful?
Anthony rolled his eyes. “He is fit, I will say that, but I’m not into blondes.”
The mind healer raised his eyebrows. “You are a blond yourself!”
“That is exactly why I’m not into blonds. Now a redhead, yes, please. I’ve asked Charlie if he had any brothers that were not married and he said they were all married but one, but he is married to his job. Such a shame. Now, are you going to ask him to dance or not?”
Justin thought about it. Things were going too well. It would hurt to have Draco reject a dance. What if he thought dancing was too intimate? Then Draco found him again and there was a small smile on his lips.
“Fine, how is my breath?” Justin blew into Anthony’s face and with the face he received from the other man he quickly and discreetly waved his wand to freshen his breath.
“Mate, don't do that again. I almost threw up a little.” Justin shoved the other wizard who smiled at him.
“Shut up. I’m going to go dance with my future husband.”
“Yeah, good luck with that mate.” Justin glared at Anthony before he walked towards Draco.
He wiped his sweaty hands on his trousers as he stopped near Draco. He was in a conversation with Harry and Charlie. Harry looked at him and winked. The blond must have noticed and looked over at him.
*Hi Draco. I was wondering if you would like to dance.* Justin signed and spoke so Harry and Charlie would know what he was asking.
“Oh, that sounds like a good idea. Grumpy bear, we haven't danced since we got married!” The ex-dragon trainer smiled and stood up.
“Then I guess I owe you a dance my feisty fae.” Harry took his husband’s hand.
Draco stared at him. *You want to dance?* He asked with shaky hands.
*Yes. Why wouldn't I want to dance with you? As friends, of course. I mean we are right friends?* Justin wished it was more, but he was patient.
Draco nibbled his bottom lip and sighed. The blond stood up and walked towards the dance floor. It took a minute for Justin to notice what was happening and followed behind him.
Justin didn’t know if Draco would want to lead him. What shocked him was that Draco placed his hand on his shoulder, and clasped their hands together. Justin hasn’t been this close since the first day they worked with clay. The second time when he made Draco his own bowl, he did it without the other wizard's help. This time was different, though. They were face-to-face. Draco smelled of citrus and mint.
A slow song played as Justin swayed them. Their bodies were pressed together. Draco didn’t look him in the eye. He looked down at Justin’s chest.
“You look beautiful, and I mean that in the most friendly way.” Draco huffed and Justin smiled. “I mean, I could say it in not a friendly way, but I’m not sure if you are ready for that. That’s okay, at least I didn't tell you how beautiful you will look in your all-white robe with your ivy crown for our wedding.” Draco’s head snapped up at him. The jagged scar pulled as the blond’s mouth opened and closed.
“Well, if you don’t want an ivy crown, a flower crown would be. Too much? Well, that’s okay, I’ll wait.” Justin winked at Draco as they swayed. The blond pulled away. Justin wanted to hex himself. He pushed too far.
Draco
Draco couldn’t keep his eyes off Justin. With his stupid curly hair, brown eyes, and dimples! He missed most of the ceremony because of Justin. He almost missed the part of the rings.
He tried to stay away from the mind healer. They have been spending a lot of time together. Justin would stay with him while he finished Severus and Neville’s wedding gift. The other wizard even made him a bowl and Draco would deny that he used the bowl whenever he ate.
Draco noticed Justin talking with Anthony. The bookstore owner looked to be teasing Justin. Draco didn’t like that, he wasn’t jealous of the other blonde. There was no reason to be. It wasn't like he and Justin were together.
Draco ignored him until Justin asked him to dance. He didn’t want to say no. He wanted more than anything to be in his arms. So he got up without signing anything and the mind healer followed.
When he was in Justin’s arms, he felt at ease for the first time in a long time.
“You look beautiful, and I mean that in the most friendly way.” Draco couldn’t help but huff at him. He wasn’t beautiful. How could he be beautiful with his scars? “I mean, I could say it in not a friendly way, but I’m not sure if you are ready for that. That’s okay, at least I didn't tell you how beautiful you will look in your all-white robe with your ivy crown for our wedding.”
Draco looked at him. He opened and closed his mouth. This is the first time in a long time that he almost forgot he couldn’t speak. He didn’t want to think Justin would tease him and lead him on. He would have to know that his words would hurt.
“Well, if you don’t want an ivy crown, a flower crown would be. Too much? Well, that’s okay, I’ll wait.” Justin winked at him as they swayed. Draco pulled away. He took a deep breath and tried to remind himself of what Charlie had told him.
Justin looked nervous, about as nervous as Draco felt. *Why would I be the one wearing the crown?*
A smile grew on Justin’s face. *That one is easy. Your hair is perfect. If we put the crown in my hair it would get caught in my curls.*
Draco’s shaky hand pulled at the curl that laid in the middle of his forehead. The curl felt like silk on his fingertips. *Yes, I can see that. Though it is a moot point seeing you think I am beautiful in a friendly way and you think I’m not ready for that.*
The potion master watched as the mind healer registered what he signed. Justin’s brown eyes widened. *Draco, are you saying you are ready for me to tell you that you are beautiful, not in a friendly way?*
The happiness in the other wizard's eyes made him feel something deep in his chest.
*Yes, that is what I am saying. For a mind healer, you are daft. You are a Hufflepuff I shouldn't expect much.*
*Hey! Hufflepuff is the best house! Better than snakes!” Justin shivered. Was the man afraid of snakes? *Don’t get off the subject! I’m supposed to be telling you how beautiful you are.*
Draco chuckled silently. He wished he felt beautiful, but that didn’t matter right now. *Well, are you going to?* He teased.
Justin smiled a smile that showed off his dimples perfectly. *Draco Malfoy I couldn’t believe you could look even more beautiful until I saw you today. Any man would be lucky to dance with you.* The mind healer bowed dramatically and popped back up and winked at him.
*Then I guess we should dance some more then.* Justin pulled him into his arms as another song played. This time, it felt different. Draco let himself relax in Justin’s arms. His head laid on the other man’s shoulder.
“So seeing as I’m allowed to tell you how beautiful you are, mean I can tell you how talented, intelligent, amazing, perfect you are?” Draco hid his face; he didn't want Justin to see his blush. The potion master shook his head. “Ok, ok. I’ll wait. That doesn’t mean I won’t think about it.”
When an upbeat song began, Draco pulled away and looked into Justin’s chocolate-brown eyes.
*Thank you for dancing with me Draco.*
*You’re welcome. You can repay me by having a date with me. Friday night, my house.* Draco signed with more confidence than he had. Justin smiled that damn dimpled smile.
*Friday night it is then. Since I have to repay you, anyway. Might as well dance and talk with you all night.* Draco rolled his eyes but couldn’t keep the smile off his face.
*If you must. I could use a drink.*
