Crias de lechuza nevada

Harry held Hedwig's cage in his hands. He couldn't let her go

It was Hedwig's cage. The owl's nest, from his first friend

Made with love and strands of Harry's hair and some old stuff.

Harry had watched her making the nest bigger and fluffier over the last few months. And now that Hedwig was gone, he had to undo it. Harry started to push things away when he noticed a white sphere.

Harry picked it up carefully and looked at it. Is not a sphere is a ovoid

It was an egg

Hedwig had laid eggs

And the eggs were cold

-Hermione!

---------------------

Hermione cast a warming charm on and Harry breathed a sigh of relief.

-Only one of the eggs didn't survive, but Hedwig laid eight. So there are seven more that may hatch. Postal owls have a bit of magic that allows them to fly faster and warm their nests. Hedwig obviously used her magic on her nest. --- Hermione looked at the eggs. – I used a charm I used for Trevor's terrarium, but the hatchlings will need an owl to brood, tending the eggs until they hatch, and then to feed the hatchlings

- What if we ask Pig? --- They both looked at Ron. --- Pigwidgeon is a male, but Errol once raised a Lovegood owl. Pig could do it

Ron returned a few minutes later with his excitable owl. He explained the situation in a low voice and the little owl flew to the nest before landing on the eggs with the greatest care in the world.

Harry remembered that while Hedwig hated Pigwidgeon's frenzied energy and his lack of decorum while working…. Hedwig would often take the smaller owl under her wing or provide him with a small mouse.

-------------------------------

- Who do you think is the father of the eggs? – Ron asked one of the first nights in the store in the forest.

Ron and Harry watched at the nest as Hermione held up open and read aloud from a book on magical owls. To begin with, they will take longer to hatch, 90 days instead of the normal thirty. And they also grow a little more slowly. But that's because they live longer than normal barn owls.

-It could be any male from Hogwarts. Harry, was there an owl that was near Hedwig? Any other snowy owls? -- Hermione put down the book to look at Harry.

- Well, there were several. The year after I brought Hedwig people started bringing their own snowy owls. --– Harry tried to remember, but he only knew that Hedwig was the prettiest of all. Several of the others had tried to court her, presenting her with their offers of mice, but Harry had never seen her show a preference for another owl.

-According to this, postal owls usually mate for life. If the male is not here that means his owner is preventing him from seeking out his missing mate. - Hermione point a line with that information in the book

Harry nodded and gave Pig some more of the owl chow they had purchased before leaving Grimmauld Place.

--------------------------------

They’d been traveling for months, and Harry was feeling desperate tonight. It had been his turn to wear the horcrux, and it was taking its toll on him. He tried to push away the bad thoughts and feelings as much as he could, but it was difficult Suddenly, he heard a new noise

Harry got up and walked over the owl nest. Pig moved away and the young man could see two chicks had already hatched and three or four that looked to be trying to hatch.

Harry’s heart filled with joy, and he knew he could produce a patronus right then and there as he slid his hand into the cage and one of the hatchlings nearly jumped into his hand.

-Hi little girl. Welcome to the world.

Hermione let out a little squeal of joy and moved closer beginning to coo to the chicks. Pig's puffed his feathered chest with pride as the seven tiny owlets slowly hatched and then gathered together.

Hermione classified them as males and females with a spell. Five females, two males. She also put a small ribbon on the legs of different colors to know which offspring each one was.

Harry stroked the last hatchling and imagined how proud Hedwig would have been to show her chicks to him. With her feathers still fluffed and she would have almost dragged Harry by his sleeve to present to him her precious young chicks. Harry would have been very flattered and congratulated Hedwig on her great job.

----------------------------

Harry looked at Fleur as she was fussing over the ever larger and more beautiful hatchlings.

- Could you take care of them for me? They almost died in Malfoy Manor and I wouldn't forgive myself if….

- Don't worry, Harry. --- Fleur smiled. – My grandfather raises postal owls as a hobby now that he's retired. I know how to take care for them so that they'll grow up to be big and strong.

Harry nodded and let the chicks climb on top of him and let them explore. Harry would keep this memory with him for a long time.

-------------------------------------

Harry looked at the hatchlings, they were now young owls and beginning to fly. That led to a lot accidents and broken feather as they tried to learn.

Matilda landed on Harry's head, name given by Hermione, they cast a lots who to see who got to name each of the young owls. Matilda seemed to like to perch on Harry's head. And she would tug on the boy's messy black hair and nip his ear when she didn't like what Harry was doing.

- Have you thought about who you will give the owls to?

Harry looked at Hermione who still had her arm in a sling. They had argued about this until Harry had to admit that he couldn't take care of seven owls by himself.

-I think Neville, George, one for you, Mrs. Weasley will finally be able to retire Errol, Luna has asked me for Hermes and I think Fleur will find Aqua's company delicious, since she is the prettiest of all and the only one with blue eyes.

- Will you be left with the only one?

-Yes, with Matilda. – Harry stroked the little owl's feathers. – She is the most attached to me. And I think Hedwig would like

One of the owls flew wildly past Harry, chirping all the while. Harry laughed and called Hermes to his side. Pig wasn't the genetic father of the chicks, he had verified it and they were one hundred percent snowy owls, but Hermes had managed to inherit Piwwidgeon personality

Luna would be a good owner for him

---------------------------------

James Potter watched as Matilda came flying gracefully and elegantly with a letter from the boy's parents.

-This brings back memories. --– James turned to look at Hagrid who was behind him. – Your father and Hedwig. The owl your father came to Hogwarts with. He adored her and Hedwig always came to see him at the breakfast table because she would get bacon. Although Matilda does prefer sausages.

-Dad has been talking about encouraging Matilda to accept a mate so they might have a new generation of owls, She’s getting older, and will soon deserve to retire. – James caressed her white feathers and was pleased to recive a chirp of joy from the owl.

- I know quite a few who own Snowy Owls these days. I can ask if any of them might be showing interest in finding a mate for his owls.

- Thank you, Hagrid. I think Dad would be heartbroken if he didn't have a snowy owl.

Hagrid smiled and gently ran his large fingers over Matilda's feathers. He remembered Hedwig perfectly and Harry's face when he received her. He remembered seeing Harry taking care of her, unlike many other children who simply let him take care of their pets. Or house elves.

He remembered Harry in the school owlery, preening Hedwig's feathers, helping with her shedding, and doting on her.

There was no more beloved owl and Harry had treated Matilda the same. You could tell a lot about someone's nature by watching how they took care of their pets.

-------------------

Harry was nervous looking at Matilda who was sitting on the nest with a serious expression. He was even pacing back and forth.

- I don't remember seeing you so nervous since I gave birth, Harry.

-Good is that…

Matilda stirred and Harry stepped forward to peer into the nest.

A tiny hatchling owlet was looking at the world with new eyes, the first to hatch from Matilda's four eggs, and Harry felt tears well up in his own eyes. The baby's eyes were amber, not yellow, they looked so much like those of….

-Hedwig. -- – Ginny had come up behind Harry. – It looks very similar, Hedwig's were always darker than those of her chicks.

-That's a good name. --- Harry nodded. Then he cast the spell. – And she is also a girl.

Harry carefully picked up the hatchling with Matilda's permission and looked at the chick.

-Welcome to the Potter family, Hedwig.

Teddy came out of the floo network and looked at the hatchlings. He had already asked for one for himself, but now he just wanted to be here with the owl babies and his little cousins. He held Lily Luna up to watch as another chick hatched from its egg and the girl was ecstatic.

By the time Lily Luna had to leave for Hogwarts, the owls would be ready to work. But they could all see that Harry would keep little Hedwig.
