By the end of Remus’s sixth year at Hogwarts, he was irrevocably in love with Regulus Black.
Over the Christmas break, Regulus had gone home. He’d gotten engaged to some french pureblood whose father was involved in an undoubtedly immoral government affair with Regulus’s father Orion. When he came back after the New Year, Remus was expecting him to be a wreck. He was fully prepared to pick up the broken pieces of a boy whose abusive parehts forced him to be marked by a tyranial dictator.
Instead, Regulus Black came back as a man. He exuded a new found confidence, much like Remus last September. The pair agreed to meet at the Room of Requirement on Regulus’s first day back. Before Remus could even get a word out, Regulus’s hand was around his throat and his lips were attacking his neck.
“Let me ask you something Amare, '' he panted, a vicsious glint in his stormy eyes, ‘Have you ever heard of a horcrux?”.
