Snapjaw

Director Ragnok left meeting room 3 with an almost bounce in his steps. The young Heir Potter was going to bring old accounts back and with it more revenue to Gringotts. Yes, Director Ragnok was very happy indeed, though he wished the young-ling didn't suffer so much. He would have to convince the young-ling to get seen by some healers. Maybe he could offer a screening free of charge?

While Director Ragnok was brimming with pride and happiness, Griphook was steaming with rage at the injustice the young-ling went through and he had a feeling the worse was yet to come.

While Director Ragnok went to get the Heir Rings, Griphook went to get the account managers. They both made it back to meeting room 3 within seconds of the other. Director Ragnok nodded at Griphook who bowed in return.

Director Ragnok entered the meeting room to see a confused young Heir Potter. Griphook looked weary.

"We have the Heir Rings and the account managers are on their way." Director Ragnok stated, bemused at the look of confusion on the young Heir, at least until Heir Potter opened his mouth.

"What is Heir Rings? Wait, did you say, Managers, as in more than one!?" Heir Potter asked, his voice squeaking. Director Ragnok's bushy eyebrows raised in shock. Why was Heir Potter so surprised? They had talked about this before leaving.

"What is confusing you?" Director Ragnok asked, rapidly becoming un-eased.

"Everything! What is going on, how did I get here? I was waiting in the bank. Now I am in a room I don't know and you're talking about Heir Rings and account managers!" Harry exclaimed, slightly panting at the end. Griphook and Director Ragnok looked at each other and then back at Heir Potter.

Something was very wrong. Obviously, Heir Potter doesn't remember the past two hours. Worried that one of their richer customers was compromised, Director Ragnok slowly walked towards the table in the middle of the room.

"H—Mr. Potter, we would like to offer you a me—screening that will tell us most of the answers to your questions. Would you consent to this test?" Director Ragnok asked the upset young-ling.

Director Ragnok had to be careful, Heir Potter was rattled and looked like he was ready to bolt. With his past abuse, there was a high chance that he would not agree to the medical test. Calling it a screening wasn't lying but was being slightly untruthful, Director Ragnok could live with that if it helps the young-ling.

"Okay." Heir Potter agreed in a small voice. Director Ragnok would have to work on that. The young-ling was going to be a High Elf, and was already magically strong, Director Ragnok could almost taste the power coming off the young-ling. He needed to be strong if he was going to take the world by storm and Gringotts would be right by his side.

Harry was confused. He came to Gringotts to get some money and now he was somehow in an unknown room and about to get a screening. It wasn't the first time Harry ended up somewhere without knowledge of where he got there but he just thought he was wondering lost in his thoughts. This room was not somewhere he could have wondered. Besides the Goblins didn't look like he shouldn't be here.

Maybe he could get some answers to his questions. The screening had to at least tell him something, right?

With Gryffindor's courage, he took a big breath and followed Griphook and the other goblin out. He was brought down many hallways, waited in a room for a few moments before leaving to a completely different hallway, and was brought to a cave-like room, it had weird symbols all over the floor and walls. Looking closer, Harry noticed they were carved into the stone and almost felt like they were humming. Harry tried to listen but then the sound stopped.

"Mr. Potter you must undress all your clothing and if you feel uncomfortable you may wear the robe on the back of the door. Once you undressed, all foreign items, your clothing, and glasses must be left outside the room. There must be nothing in the ri—room that would mess with the screening." the unnamed goblin stated. Harry nodded and was grateful when they left the room.

Harry looked around but found no one else in the room, with flushed cheeks he undressed until he was naked. He glanced at the robe debating using it but didn't have the confidence to go through with it naked. Plus he didn't want the goblins to see his back. Too many scars.

Once he was dressed in the white robe, he walked to the door and knocked. The door immediately opened and Griphook, the unnamed goblin, and three more in brown hooded robes entered.

Harry watched as the goblins in brown robes stood in a triangle in the middle of the baron room. They started chanting and to Harry's surprise the floor started to shift and a rectangle slab raised into the air.

A knock distracted Harry from what the robed goblins were doing. The door opened and another goblin entered. This goblin was wearing a white robe that was much different from others he had seen. Unlike other robes, this one had no hood, was three-quarter sleeved, and only went to behind the knees. The goblin was wearing a white dress underneath and a light gray apron that had two pockets on each side. The apron also had a snake symbol that Harry vaguely saw in an old medical magazine.

She must be a doctor. why does there need to be a doctor for a screening test? Harry wondered, confused and a little weary.

"Hello, He—Mr. Potter, I am Healer Snapjaw and I am here to do your Screening Test, do you consent?" Healer Snapjaw asked. Harry squinted at the goblin but had already said he would do it...

"I consent." Harry answered.

Healer Snapjaw smirked before lifting her clawed hand. Harry pretended he didn't flinch and ignored the frowns on the goblin's faces. When Healer Snapjaw's hands were level with his head she started chanting in what Harry suspected was Gobbledegook, the same as the brown-robed goblins.

When the chanting was over a length of parchment rolled into the healer's hand from seemingly air. It kept rolling and rolling and rolling. Harry was starting to get worried with the looks of outrage on Griphook's and Snapjaw's faces and the clenched jaw of the unnamed goblin.

"He—Mr. Potter, there is a lot of damage done to you over the course of your short life, I wish to correct this and need your consent to perform such a ritual to fix the most damaging of—aspects." Healer Snapjaw asked, looking through the scroll. Harry wanted to see it but was also scared to.

"I consent." Harry stated he got this far. He may even have less pain after they are done.

"Excellent!" Healer Snapjaw's exclaimed before directing Harry to the floating stone slab. Harry, after hesitating for a second, laid down on the surprisingly warm slab.

"Now, Mr. Potter we will be performing a few rituals and some cleansings. The cleansings will leave a tingling feeling on your skin. The most they would do is tickle. The rituals will start with a dull ache and continue until it is over or you pass out from pain or exhaustion. The last ritual will be the most painful and you will most likely pass out before we are done but it is important that you do this. Afterwards we will show you your results and then you will understand. Do you understand?" Harry nodded shakily, he could handle pain.

"Good, now because of certain rituals we have to bind you to the altar, this is so you won't hurt us or yourself. Do you consent?" Healer Snapjaw asked.

"I consent." Harry answered. Healer Snapjaw nodded and barked something at the other goblins. Griphook and the unnamed goblin left.

A few moments after the door closed, the chanting started again. Harry panicked for a second when he couldn't move but then remembered the binding. Taking a deep breath, he tried to calm down.

The chanting was getting louder and was surprisingly soothing.

Harry soon felt a slight tingle around his chest, it was slowly covering his body. Harry felt if he could see it, it would move like smoke. The tingle wasn't uncomfortable but felt strange. After a while, it became more intense and he realized that the cleansings were layering before the previous left. This happened a few more times.

Harry knew immediately when the first ritual started. It didn't hurt, not really. More like a dull ache, but soon it turned into a twinge. Nothing he couldn't handle, yet at least.

After some more time, Harry wasn't sure when he felt the twinge develop into a dull pain, still bearable but uncomfortable. All too soon the pain became throbbing. Harry winced as his body was hit with a nail-sized stabbing feeling over his entire body.

The pain slowly got worse, until it was almost unbearable and then it got even worse. Harry clenched his jaw to stop the whimpers from escaping his mouth. Harry cringed as a whimper was torn through his lips not being able to stop it in time. The agony of the ritual was starting to become more painful as time went on.

Harry was no longer able to keep his cries in when his body felt like acid had replaced the blood in his veins. It felt as if his blood was boiling and freezing at the same time, Harry's thoughts were jumbled. The pain was too painful to think rationally, and that's when the screaming started.

Harry screamed until his throat felt raw, it burned in a way it had never had before. Harry begged and pleaded for it to be over soon. His pleas were rewarded after a moment and soon quiet, painless darkness was granted.

When Harry awoke his vision was blurry and wet. Confused, he rubbed his eyes and grimaced at the gel-like substance. Sitting up he wiped his eyes as best as he could, blinking rapidly until he could see. Gasping, he looked around. He was in a room much like the infirmary and he could see. His vision had never been this good. Was this how normal people see?

For the first time Harry could remember, he saw his fingerprints clearly. They looked weird but Harry liked them.

He was still in the white robe from the cleansing ritual, Harry could see the threads. Looking around he could see other beds and privacy screens. Everything was so clear and wonderful.

Harry was interrupted by his thoughts when the door opened. Looking to his right, he saw a goblin, Snapjaw was much clearer too. Harry watched as she walked towards him. She was quite pretty for a goblin and looked young.

"Lovely to see you awake, Heir Potter," Snapjaw said, her tone almost amused. Harry blinked at being called Heir Potter before memories of earlier today or yesterday came flooding back. Harry blinked at the rush of memories.

"Oh Merlin, what happened?" Harry asked, shocked. Snapjaw raised a brow before handing a roll of parchment to him.

Harry looked at the results feeling shocked and horrified.

"Fuck." Harry hissed almost speaking parseltongue.

"Well said, Heir Potter, but perhaps refrain from such foul language—Hmm?" Snapjaw asked, amusement clear in her voice.

Harry just nodded as he reread his results. What now?
