Chapter 5
Remus didn't exactly want to tell Sirius about the Dursleys, and quite literally everything else, but it was inevitable. Sirius deserved to know. That was a fact.
"What." The anger in Sirius' voice was indescribable. It wasn't a inquiry, it was a statement. "I swear I'll curse their faces off! I swear it!"
Remus only glanced the other way as Sirius angrily paced the room. They had sent Harry up to the dormitories with Ron earlier so he didn't have to see this.
"You're telling me that you didn't check on him once the ENTIRE time he was at the Dursleys?! He's James' kid!! Are you insane?!" Sirius had turned his anger on Remus. Everyone knew Sirius wasn't very stable, which is why older Harry hadn't gone to live with Sirius just yet.
Remus had to admit, he didn't have the strongest emotional connection to older Harry. You can't blame him, Harry was just a constant reminder of what Remus had lost. He knows it's selfish. He stayed silent, he deserved it in a way.
"Answer me dammit!! Have you even washed him? Sent him to Pomfrey? Given him something else than damn chocolate?!" Sirius pointed an angry finger at Remus.
"No.." Remus whispered, ashamed. They hadn't done any of those things. But was it purely only Remus' fault? Minerva, Dumbledore, and even Snape hadn't done any of those things. The blame couldn't be pinned on Remus.
"Dammit! If you won't do anything, then I have to take it into my own hands!" Sirius muttered under his breath as he began to stomp like a toddler. He went to collect his godson, if others wouldn't care for him, he had to. How dare anyone neglect his poor kid! It was blasphemous.
"Sirius wait-- You'll scare the poor thing!" Remus chased after Sirius, trying to grab onto the niorets wrist. Sirius could've swung right then and there, but he was still mentally well enough not to hurt the love of his life.
"THING?! How dare you call Prongslet a thing?! You're just as bad as those ass Dursleys!" Sirius did not stop his stroll, he had finally made the journey. He faced the door of the Gryffindor dormitories.
"You know very well that's not what I meant! He's a child, he's sensitive... don't barge in there, you'll scare him." Remus, somehow, brought some sense into Sirius. He seemed to have calmed down drastically, but he was still very mad.
"Fine then." Unfortunately, the warning from Remus went through one ear and out the other. Sirius had muttered the passcode and the doors opened. He stomped in there, his eyes darting across the room to catch his godson.
He was playing with that little blue lamb toy, how adorable. It warmed Sirius' heart and almost calmed him down instantaneously. He beckoned Harry over, patting his knees as if calling a cat.
It worked. Harry more than happily obliged as he came up to Sirius with a very small smile. Sirius quickly grabbed Harry's wrist causing the smile to immediately wipe off his face. Sirius rushed Harry out of the dormitory, who was followed by a shocked Hermione and a slightly angry Ron. Harry was stumbling a bit, his little legs unable to keep up with the pace Sirius had set.
Harry felt as if he was about to be punished and looked more than slightly terrified. He had been dragged back into some office in Hogwarts, Harry wasn't really sure where he was.
"Sirius!! Calm down!! Look at him!" Remus shouted, pointing at Harry. It at least caused Sirius to drop Harry's wrist. It was slightly red from the grip and the lack of support caused Harry to fall to the ground. He wasn't hurt but he winced a bit, probably due to his leg. Though, the people in the room couldn't have cared less about him currently, even if the topic was about him.
Sirius and Remus argued, not severely, but enough to cause discomfort from everyone. Ron was busy glaring at Sirius and Hermione was doing the same thing.
Apparently, a Gryffindor student had gone to Snape to inform him of everything that had happened and after a simple tracking spell, he was there with the group too.
"What the hell is going on here...?" Snape asked, it was a rhetorical question however. Sirius snapped his head towards Snape. Remus paused his scolding as he looked at Snape as well. Snape paid no attention to Harry either.
The adults(And Hermione and Ron) were beginning to conversate, and Harry was left in the dark. Everything was so loud, the talking, humming in the air, the occasional footsteps from outside the office. It made Harry want to cry. But he was a big boy, he couldn't cry, it was childish and girlish.
But no one was paying attention to him so if he cried surely no one would notice... Right?
Harry's emotions were getting the better of him, and as a four year old, he did the only logical thing. Breakdown and cry.
The tears had fell, Harry had covered his eyes but it didn't cover the whines and sniffles he made in the process. The sad thing is? None of the originals had noticed, Minerva was the one to notice as she walked into the shitshow.
She had gently picked Harry up, consoling him as the others didn't. This caused Minerva pure rage, but Harry was more important. Harry cried onto her shoulder, embarrassed, but unable to control himself. He was four after all.
Remus, Sirius, Snape, Hermione, and Ron had turned their head when they heard the sobbing grow louder. All of their eyes, minus Snape's, had widened(Snape's eyes had narrowed) when they saw Minerva's glare and Harry's crying frame.
"Minerva--" Remus had started, if it weren't for Minerva's narrowing glare. Remus quickly shut his mouth.
"You all decided to argue in front of a child? Nuh uh, Don't even think about interrupting me Sirius. The boy was crying and you all ignored him. You need to make up your minds. Merlin help me..." Minerva mumbled the last part. She couldn't be more disappointed in her previous and present students. Those same students looked as if they couldn't be more disappointed in themselves. Harry had calmed down slightly, he wasn't sobbing but tears still fell.
Minerva shook her head.
"I'm taking him to Madam Pomfrey to be cared for. Once he is evaluated, you can work to gain your child privileges back." Minerva, like the queen she is, quickly made her exit with Harry in her arms. She left every incompetent parent and caregiver(again, minus Snape as he doesn't care yet) left in disappointed and hate for themselves.
